Such a charming little room. Bathroom was spotless & seemed recently re-done. The staff member at my check-in was excellent!! Very friendly and helpful. Loved that I could easily walk to Vieux Lyon, and Perrache train station was minutes away.

Great charm. Lots of historical character, but clean modern facilities. Single room was small, but very well appointed. Attractive and efficient. Great location too - nice neighbourhood and walking distance to good restaurants and many sites of interest. Surpassed my expectations. I was surprised it was listed as 2 star. It was much nicer than many 3 star and some 4 star hotels. The receptionists were very kind and helpful.
It was all lovely.

Good location near the centre. Clean , safe and quiet room and economical breakfast EUR10 per pax with crunchy croissants , fresh baguette with cheese and plain yoghurt is worth it. Friendly staff like Erica and Amber always ready to provide information on places of interests in Lyon with a print out map given to us upon checked in. Thank you Erica and Amber for your warm hospitality.

Great location. Beautiful old building. There are steps, but it has a lift. Comfortable & very clean.
The steps on the stairs need to be better lit & identified with a metallic strip. Two of us missed a step & fell due to poor light & steps not highlighted

Good communication before with good restaurant recommendations. Very friendly welcome. Lovely old style hotel located in a very charming French building. The rooms have a modern touch. Single room was certainly small but absolutely fine for one person. Very clean. Nice temperature in the room. Safe, quiet area but only a ten minute walk from main areas. This is very important as a solo female traveller. Very quiet at night. Umbrellas provided but mine had seen better days! Housekeeping staff cleaned very well each day. The reception staff have been really lovely. Allowed me store my luggage after check out. Would happily stay again. Merci!
Some small things to note. Hard to figure out how to first enter the building. The actual hotel door is on the second floor. TV kept turning off and off by itself at random times. One very loose plug socket in room hanging off the wall. Another random wire hanging out of the wall. Surely could be easily fixed? Looks unsightly and more importantly could be dangerous.

The bedrooms were located on the 2nd floor. They were quiet and the beds comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and modern with a good shower.
There was no reception staff to meet us when we arrived after 8:30pm. However the instructions for gaining entry to our rooms was sufficient.

Location is, although tricky to find. Staff were friendly, competent and extremely helpful!
My room had no heat over night and there was no desk clerk or emergency number after 8pm

Location was good
The pictures and reality does not match. It more like an apart rather than hotel. Amenities and in room was not clear enough and utensils was not sufficient

The location was near a number of attractions and excellent restaurants. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly & helpful.
Room was smaller than anticipated.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful. We were located in a beautiful area of the presqu'isle of Lyon, close to stores, restaurants and the river. There is a well-stocked mini market right underneath the hotel. The bathroom was well appointed, with lots of hot water.
Entry through the massive old door was clumsy, the elevator had been renovated but was still tiny and really inadequate for travelers with any amount of luggage. The room was so small that we couldn't open the window properly and there was no heating.

Very nice little hotel in great Presqu'il location convenient to the old town and other sites. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

We thought the hotel staff were lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was simple but adequate, and the breakfast room was charming (I have never said that before about a hotel breakfast room). The room itself was quite small, and air conditioning might have been nice, but we coped with a fan. The staff said they're trying to get air conditioning in place. All in all, good value for the money.

A good budget hotel for a short stay - decent location to explore Lyon!
The hotel is quite dated and the room was small but clean and comfortable bed. & clean, modern bathroom. You get what you pay for - nothing fancy but does the job for a short visit.
Staff communication was very good and helpful due to late check-in. I didn't include breakfast but there was a small dining room with a nice view to relax and have some down time.
A handful of boulangerie's close by for breakfast. And Some good food options a short 5-10min walk away around Place Bellecour. Also the train station is there. Then another 5-10min walk is the main shopping/dining strip along Rue De La Republique.
Train is just a few stops from Vieux Lyon (Old Town).
No Aircon in the rooms which I regret not checking first as I stayed in Summer. Window open and fan on made it bearable - just. It did appear however to have heating for winter.

Lovely little hotel in a convenient location, the bus station is very close by. Nice old room with all of the facilities that you need. Lyon surpassed our expectations, what a great place.
The balcony could have done with more of a sweep and maybe some chairs to sit out with.

Location (easy walk to centre), friendly staff, nice new bathroom
Hard to know what buttons to press at the intercom on arrival -bit confusing

The wonderful decor, the friendly welcoming staff, very comfortable bed, great location, coffee/kettle in bedroom. It was absolutely charming and I'd absolutely return.
During a heat wave, the fan struggled, so sleeping was rather uncomfortable hence 9/10. They plan to add a/c in 2026 which will make it 10/10.

Good location
A little old-fashioned but with a lot of charm
Staff were very helpful and friendly
A little hard to access - lift is small and doors are heavy

Although the hotel is not located directly in the central tourist areas, I can say it was a positive point that you could reach them within a 10-minute walk.
First of all, the room was dirty. When I entered, there was urine in the toilet — not only was it not cleaned, but the flush hadn't even been used. The room was extremely small; you could barely stand inside. There was no place to hang clothes and not even a mini fridge. The weather was 40°C, and there was no air conditioning in the rooms. What they claimed to be air conditioning turned out to be a simple fan, which was completely ineffective.

The location was fine and the charm of the hotel was unique and quaint.
We stayed during a heat wave, and all we had was a fan. The room was so small you couldn't open the window fully without hitting the bed. The room was so hot, we averaged maybe 2 hours of sleep per night.

Great location for old Lyon
Very small room with poor ventilation and no air conditioning. At 35 degrees it was uncomfortable

Quiet location, charming old building
Its is charming but very basic in amenities.
9.0 / 10.0
The room was really pretty, big windows, high ceilings and the sun shined really nicely inside. There was a good amount of storage. The location was easy to find and we walked there.
I can imagine if it would've been hotter, the fan wouldn't be enough in the room as well as I saw a lot of dust on top of the mirror which could be easily taken care of. :)

Good location very close to old town, shopping and dining districts as well as bus station. Quitet. Very helpful receptionist. Clean.
Small room and super small, not comfortable bed.

Hotel Vaubecour is a small, cozy hotel located in an historic building conveniently located on Presqu'ile. The beds and pillows were super comfortable, the bathroom decent-sized and modern. A small lift will carry those preferring not to walk up to the 2nd floor. Breakfast consisting of croissants and baguettes, yogurt, cheese, coffee and orange juice is available. You must order the day prior, however. Coffee is available in the room as well. The best part of our experience though was interacting with the kind and helpful staff. They are wonderful representatives of both the hotel and the city of Lyon.
This is not a negative about the hotel. If coming by car, please reserve a parking space in advance. Because we were not aware of the need to book a space, we ended up paying quite a bit more for a public parking space further from the hotel than the one that is located a few minutes' walk away.

The staff were very friendly, always helpful with tips and really accommodating when it came to us getting changed before the check-in time and using the bathroom before we went out, and making sure we were comfortable when we did eventually check in. Helpful with local tips, and the room was nice and cosy. Great location, a short walk to everything in the city.

It’s extremely rare to get a hotel this quiet in any city. Every room has a double door vestibule closet at the entry, so you can block out a lot of hallway noise. The windows are also double. Could finally get a good night’s sleep while travelling.
Although the rest of the building is nothing special, it’s located close to the old city centre, nice shops, etc. and is great to commute to and from the train stations.

Great to have two single beds per room. Quite quiet in the room, isolated from street noise. Could hear immediate neighbour coming and going, but not bad.
The washroom reeked of urine and likely needed a deeper clean.

The room itself was nice and clean. Well located.
The hotel indicates it has a parking. Undortunately, it doesnt. They weite that parking is available in the streets, free of charge between 7pm-9am. This doesnt help, as we had to find a parking spot far away from the hotel, and pay for it as well. As parking was the main consition to chosing the hotel, we feel a bit screwed…

The check in was very welcoming and efficient. The location was great and easily walkable to old town and train station. The wifi was very good. The building is beautiful and very secure.
My room was right outside reception. You could hear conversations and breakfast being served. A room down hallway would have been ideal and more private.

The staff was very caring, helpful, friendly and reliable. They gave detailed information about the city and provided a detailed map of the area, so we could easily find attractions around Lyon.
The location was close to the main points of interest. Also, close to the center and the Christmas market.
The entire hotel, the bathroom, room were very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the sound insulation was good.
Overall, we were very pleased with the stay and we're very thankful. :)
9.0 / 10.0
Staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make sure our needs were taken care of - allowing early check-in of luggage - calling taxis - providing maps and advice. Our bed was firm, as requested.
You need to know there is a lift, but you have to go up three steps with your luggage before accessing it, in case that is a problem for anyone. The hotel part of the building actually starts on the second floor. Also, it is NOT an easy walk from the train station for some of us, BUT is a cheap taxi ride.
