Pleasant stay and a perfect location.

Amazing stay at MGM Muthu hotel.. Had a pleasant check in experience even though they were low-staffed at the end of the year, Deepak the manager himself was working overtime and welcomed us with a nice Christmas welcome gift. The room was spic-and-span with big bathroom (was easy with our 3-year old). All the amenities were present and room service cleaned the room daily. Breakfast buffet is highly recommended, with so many options for a meagre price. Would come back to stay here again!

The room was large,clean and had an exceptional view.the staff were nice and helpful. Dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast were perfect and a very good choice. At breakfast there was also nuts and seeds.

Great value (enhanced by an upgrade) but lack of sleep due to thoughtless neighbours!

The member of staff who checked me in did so warmly and was very pleased (as I was) to announce that my room had been upgraded! The room was a good size including a very modern shower.

Later in the evening staff seemed very thin on the ground, e.g. when I wanted a glass of ice to take to my room. Although I can't (and don't) blame the hotel for this it took me around 2 hours to get so sleep (from 11 pm to 1 am) to get to sleep as 2 people in the room next door (34) didn't stop talking until around this point. As I had an early start (I needed to wake up at around 7 am) I was feeling tired the next morning when I woke up.

The room was clean.

The room looked very old and they did not provide us with spoons so I had to go down to the reception to ask for it. We expected more for the price.

Great location, old property with basic amenities

The proximity to the high street and loch facing makes for a great location

The housekeeping was irregular. We stayed 5 nights and the housekeeping was done for only two nights - that too after our complaints. Seems the hotel was short on staff. The in-house restaurant was also not fully functional and had a limited menu.

Retro-charme, but has everything you need

The room was small and a bit dated on the first glance, but... as I discovered during my stay, it was very, very practical. It had everything I needed and nothing more. In particular, the electrical radiator was brilliant to dry my soaked clothes and shoes. The bar and saloon were great to wind down, watch football and do some Whisky tasting. The high street is just a few minutes walk away.

The window looked into an inner courtyard with direct view against a wall, but ok, I didn't come for the view.

Amazing Staff

Rose Ann was amazing! She was there when I checked in and again when I checked out. I stayed here for my birthday and was greeted with a birthday candy bar and was wished happy birthday the next morning when I came down to the lobby. The small things and attention the staff gave was above my expectations.

Not that I didn't like it, but two good things to know is there is no elevator and the water is not drinkable (large bottles of still and sparkling water are provided). If you go in knowing this prior to booking you will have a fantastic stay!

Location—Right on the water. Nice view. Walkable to shops, activities, and restaurants. Desk staff were helpful and very nice. Hotel was quiet and great for sleeping. Very very clean.

Very limited onsite parking—but that’s typical for older hotels/inns. Due in part to being near water and road rerouting/expanding over time. Water was only drinkable by bottle, not tap. A European aspect, we think. Eclectic and oddly laid out access to room—😊 Kind of a “Hogwarts/which stairs do we take” puzzle.

Plesant stay

Staff were very friendly. Room was clean. Free WiFi. Breakfast was fine. Great location; it was around a 10 minute walk from the train station. I mainly used the hotel as a base to sleep and change.

In the room I stayed in, you could hear the people in the room above walking around unfortunately. There were also some rattling noises and pipes banging in the area just outside my window. This limited the quality of sleep that I got. Maybe it is the time of year but there seemed to be a lack atmosphere… it was very quiet.

Stylish furnishings throughout. The bedroom looked recently refurbished with very contemporary bathroom fittings. The staff are outstanding, very friendly and engaging, working hard and effectively, maintaining a stylish service

The good and the bad.

The staff were very welcoming. They changed our room, which we found looked out on a huge vent pipe to another, which looked out at the carpark, which was better as it had trees. The filipino staff in the bar were really friendly and helpful. Our room was small but comfortable. We asked if we could upgrade to a room with a view it wasn't possible.. We thought the gold leaf chairs in the dining room felt very luxurious.

Our room was down a rabbit warren of corridors and had stairs which meant having to carry suitcases. Unfortunately, the back of the hotel where we ended up smelt pretty bad. The cortidors smelt very mouldy and damp..
