Peaceful spot, well-stocked Shepherd's Hut; perfect whether the weather is good, or the winds blow!

Perfect location to explore Orkney, north, south, east and west. The accommodation had everything I needed and allowed me a quiet space for contemplation. It was cosy, comfortable and lovely to return to after a day of exploring. I love the way it is tucked into the back of the property. I enjoyed watching the birds gather in the fields each day. It was absolutely spotless and filled with extra little touches that showed care and consideration from Colin and Maureen. My favourite time was sitting chatting to them about Orkney and further afield. Could not have been better, and I hope to come back!

Cute little shepherd’s hut nestled in quiet location, perfect for bird-watching!

Maureen and Colin were absolutely wonderful, they left a delicious loaf of bread in the fridge, along with milk, butter and homemade marmalade and jam; truly delighted!

Exceptional

The location was great- we took walks in Finstown enjoying the area- but also close to the historical sites we wanted to see. A unique, sturdy hut and very clean. Super nice folks and very kind. Especially enjoyed the homey touch of fresh bread, butter and homemade jams.

Bank holiday in Orkney

Beautiful view, lovely hosts, delicious homemade jams, comfortable bed, great hot water, and perfectly located on the island....what more could you ask for?! Fell in love with the islands and can't wait to come back!!

Perfect!

Colin and Maureen were the perfect hosts. They had put fresh bread and milk in the hut so at least we could have breakfast before we went to the shops. The hut was also beautifully decorated and there was a veritable library about the islands in one of the drawers. We had a perfect holiday, thanks to them.

Morvin selfcatering and it`s hosts is the best place to discover Orkney Island and it`s treasures.

We arrived only at arround 9 pm but still our friendly hosts gave us a warm welcome and provided a wonderful breakfast with bread, butter, tea, coffee, marmalade and selfmade jams. Maureen and Colin made us instantly feel at home and were there for us whenever we had a question.

Glorious. Would recommend to anyone wishing a comfy home-like-stay in Orkney.

What a lovely place. Friendly hosts, comfortable clean rooms with a glorious countyside view. Parking. Our wonderful hosts supplied us with bread and homemade jams. Sensational. They also provided lots of books and maps about Orkney which we used then returned for the next guests. I would go back and stay here but stay longer next time.

Cosy & private and very reasonably priced

It is self catering which is what we prefer. Lovely & quiet with nice views over countryside. Perfectly located for walks, bike rides or car travel to the many interesting places to visit on Orkney

Very comfortable accommodation ideal for just a couple. Finstown is ideal for Kirkwall and Stromness so the location is good and easy to find. The bread, butter and milk were lovely.

Nothing, once it warmed up it was very cosy. Had a little bother with the electric heater, but soon worked out how to use it.

Great location to explore the Orkneys. Nice and very quite tiny house. Everything you need in short distance.

comfortable and friendly, car needed

Lovely hosts and fantastic wee bit for one or 2 people. very comfortable and with the basics to cook and store food. Lovely view of a field which is very relaxing and largely quite quiet. Fantastic jam and lovely pieces of woodwork from Colin.

Super freundlicher Gastgeber, alles vorhanden was man braucht 😀

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in diesem hübschen kleinen Häuschen. Es war alles da was man braucht, von Geschirr, über Handtücher, kleine Küche, großer Tisch...😀 Der Besitzer ist super freundlich und hat sogar Brot, Milch, Butter und Marmelade bereit gestellt für uns 😀Echt toll!! Wir kommen gern wieder
