Fantastic, I will definitely visit again.

Lovely small home only a short distance from Kirkwall. Fantastic facilities. Lovely views. The kitchen is very well equipped.

The only fault was the wifi would sometimes disconnect, but as I had 4G it really wasn't a problem.

Perfect location on Orkney, very quiet but still only 10 mins from Kirkwall. Loanside was very clean and gave us a complete home away from home feeling. Kim and Paul provided us with a nice breakfast starter pack. Spacious accommodation with a beautiful view on fields full of cow and curlew. Would definitely stay again when visiting Orkney.

A perfect place to explore Orkney while enjoying state of the art accommodation.

Lovely location with great views over the countryside, very modern kitchen appliances, shower , televisions and central heating. Everything very clean and new looking with fresh bed linen. A much appreciated welcome pack which saves a visit to the shops on arrival.

Fully equipped and excellent base for seeing Orkney. Beautiful shower and lovely choice of towels. Comfortable bed and pillows. A tremendous amount of thought has gone into making this property what it is - a home from home ❤️ Beautiful scenery is an added bonus.

Lovely quiet countryside location with stunning views. The kitchen was well equiped, lovely walk in shower and the welcome pack was fabulous.

Peaceful and comfortable

We loved how comfortable and well equipped the cottage was. We stayed for 2 weeks, and it was so relaxing. With a large sized refrigerator/freezer, we were able to shop and cook to our hearts content.

There was nothing we didn’t like. We knew that our accommodations were in a rural area, and so enjoyed the sheep and cow background noises.

Loanside Lodge is a "peedie" gem in Orkney.

Kim & Paul the owners were so helpful prior to our trip. We got a very warm welcome on arrival, where we were greeted with milk, fresh orange, bread & eggs to start us off. Not too far away from Kirkwall, about 10 mins by car. The views were spectacular & the peace & quiet was absolute bliss, we had cattle who said hello every morning in the field next to us. The owners live next door, but we felt very private with a fence to separate us & gorgeous decking where we could sit & admire the panoramic views drinking our coffee 1st thing....or Prosecco in the evening! The lodge itself was exceptionally clean, & had absolutely everything you could ever wish for & more! So comfortable, we didn't want to leave. Superb for a couple just wanting to relax from the hussle & bussle of every day city life. We asked if it was OK to hire a hot tub by Orkney Hot Tub Hire, kindly they looked into it & agreed to make it our ideal retreat. So nice after a day of sight-seeing. There was a TV in the lounge & in the bedroom, good WiFi, the entire lodge was nice & cozy, very well lit with modern lighting & modern decor. Nice big windows throughout. Lovely bathroom also, with large shower & strong water flow...absolutely spotless. Bed was exceptionally comfortable & bedding was immaculate. Kitchen also of a very high standard, like a show house! Kim & Paul were star hosts & really cared that we were comfortable & happy during our stay. I can't thank them enough for all their help & making sure we had a wonderful holiday. I would highly recommend staying here, hand on heart you will have a superb stay & go back home feeling refreshed, recharged & happy. 100% just what we needed. An ideal break in Orkney, many wonderful memories,, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. 🥰 11 stars out of 10!

What a wonderful stay on Orkney, it was our first time on this beautiful Island, we loved the scenery and the weather was beautiful. This is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in and is excellent. We loved the peace and serenity of the area. So much history on these islands. A little lovely gem

We had a long stay (12 days), so we can suggest this Lodge without any doubts! Kim, Paul and all their family are very lovely people! They took care of all the needs of the guests! Everything in the Lodge is new, when you enter you can smell and feel a wonderful clean feeling! The Lodge is the cleanest Self Catering that we have ever rent, everything was very clean, not only superficially, but also inside the drawers and all their contents! The kitchen was very well stocked, so cooking was a joy! The mattress and pillows are very comfortable, we could sleep very well. The bathroom is very large and with all the amenities to support our things. The welcoming pack was very rich, we have appreciated it a lot… we look forward to come back as soon as possible!

A perfect base for a week on Orkney

The cottage is modern, extremely well-equipped and cosy: it's a perfect base for exploring Orkney, especially the Eastern Mainland and the southern islands, while only a twenty-minute drive to Kirkwall for supermarkets etc. I was travelling on my own and it's the ideal place for a single traveller or couple. My trip was affected by ferry disruption (the Gills Bay- St Margaret's Bay ferry hit an island the week before) so I had to make changes which the hosts were very willing to accommodate. A great experience and strongly recommended.

The accomodation was perfectly appointed and fitted out with brand new high quality goods. The host was very welcoming and helpful. This Oz one of the best experiences we have had at self catered accommodation on over 30 years of travelling.

Wonderful experience!

The stay in Loanside was unforgettable. The location is very convenient for visiting the Mainland and for reaching all the islands by ferry. The house is in a very quiet location in the countryside, next to the owners' house, who are always available and very nice. The lodge really has everything you need and more, and is furnished with care and style: we especially appreciated the very comfortable bed, the large and comfortable bathroom, the fully equipped kitchen (there are plenty of dishes and there is also a washing machine with dryer). There is also a small utility room with an iron and ironing board, clothesline and hoover. The living room is also very cosy. We couldn't have asked for a better way to fully experience Orkney, highly recommended!

Very relaxing treat for couples

Everything was amazing. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The property itself was stunning inside with beautiful finishings. A nice selection of games were included within the property and if weather was better there was outdoor seating in what was picturesque view.
