Rymmon Retreat

The way the cabin is constructed, it is a real space-saving place with so much storage, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. We were very impressed. The kitchen is very well stocked, and the living room has everything to help pass the rainy days.

The kettle in the kitchen should be electronic to save on gas. The TV doesn't receive a good signal when the living room door is closed. So it's a case of keep the heat in, or watch TV.

Fantastic location, with great views and a quiet, peaceful spot from which to enjoy the surroundings. Everything was available (with the exception of shower gel / shampoo), which made it a relaxing and easy stay.

Both doors are pretty drafty, it is a little dated in some parts, the water is very slow to drain and the living room furniture could be orientated to maximise the views a little better - HOWEVER, these points should not underestimate the positives that totally outweigh these observations listed here.

Loved the homeliness of the retreat- the view from the lounge area is wonderful.

Nothing negative about the property- I spose bad planning from our side in that we thought we’d be able to go out for dinner( but the charm of the property is that it is slightly remote) but if you had items to cook- the kitchen provided for everything for a home cooked meal 🌸

The location

Ensuite shower wasn't working and not repaired since last autumn. Single bed was very noisy and uncomfortable. The Lodge was extremely cold when we arrived in the evening. Would have expected a warmer welcome. Kitchen lacked some essentials, e.g a grater, flat baking tray. Salt and pepper mill. Pictures on the Internet are misleading and should be taken down as they relate to former owners. I.e. no shower products or a welcome pack. The location is amazing and wouldn't take much to make the Lodge very special.
