Easy to find. Very cute rustic decor and clean room. The bed is the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in! Although there is no staff (except when e we checked in), they were always responsive via WhatsApp. Access to “the Wall” is right in front of the hotel. It’s beautiful to walk, run or bike there.

Misleading photos and room description. We reserved a “Superior” room but received the smallest one of all the photos. It was very small for three adults. Last I checked, superior means bigger or better than comparisons. This was a small room that the host simply crammed a cot into a corner for our adult daughter. The HOST was very rude when I inquired about all the photos of a unit with much more space. Instead of apologizing for any misunderstanding, she said “ABSOLUTELY NOT!” I believe she was sensitive because she’s had this misunderstanding before. CLEAR LABELS ON ROOM TYPES WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY THE RIGHT THING TO DO IN THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS.

We enjoyed our stay at Inside the Wall . The room was comfortable, clean and very walkable to everywhere in Lucca . One small setback was on the weekend evening we were there , there was a substantial amount of noise outside, quite late in the evening from young people leaving adjacent piazzas . Certainly not the fault of the property managers .

What an unexpected gem! We recently stayed at Inside the Wall and would absolutely recommend this to anyone travelling to Lucca. We received welcome messages prior to our arrival. Our hostess met us on arrival and the room was both beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We had a small issue with the AC, but this was immediately rectified with above and beyond service. This was definitely one of the highlights of our recent trip and we sincerely hope we'll have the opportunity to return one day.

One of the nicest places we have ever stayed! Just a really well thought out and lovely place. The room was super clean and comfortable. Communication was excellent as were suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Would come back for sure!!

Location, location, location! Just inside the Santa Maria gate. The owners have taken a small space and made it everything you need. Outer and inner doors have codes, so no messing with keys. Staff was very helpful. Had restaurant suggestions at front desk. Great beds and pillows.

We had an amazing stay in Luca. Our room at “Inside the wall” was perfect! Easy to walk to everything in side the wall of Old city of Lucca. We can’t wait to come back.

This is such a hidden gem! We stayed in a first floor room and it was decorated so cute! Super clean and loved the decor. Loved the location. It is a 20 min walk from the train station but we took a taxi. Unfortunately we weren’t able to use the air conditioning because there is an Italian law that hotel A/C units cannot run until May 1st (energy conservation and something to do with where Italy gets its electricity and the ongoing conflicts). Not the hotels fault, though! Absolutely lovely place and we’ll be back! (Would love an iron in the room)

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was very stylish and functional. Communication was good and check-in was easy. One small complaint, not the fault of property, is that it is situated next to a bakery which starts working very early. Probably not an issue with all suites. Once we figured out, went back to sleep.

A simple hotel, quite clean, and a small room. Ok for one night, if you like very soft beds. The air-condition could be better running. No service, as described. A friendly young woman at the reception at arrival. But: the same doorcode for all guests in the same room, that doesn't feel safe.

This is not a hotel. You are only renting a room. It is a very small room. It is also quite noisy and you can hear people in other rooms very easily, and I don’t have very good hearing. It is basically self check in, This location offers no help or amenities. If you want to leave a bag either before check in or after check out you’re out of luck they won’t help you at all. We had better luck with the café down the street who generously let us leave a bag in a secure location for free. We found the owner/mgr to be rude and condescending.

We had a fabulous stay. Rebecka was a great host and helpful before and during our stay. The location of this property is a perfect base for exploring the city. It is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and bright and airy even though it is such an old building. The bed was comfy, the shower was great and the toiletries smelled amazing. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again when we return to Lucca. Everything was perfect
