A very lovely option in Lucca -- and definitely a place I would consider again!

A very easy walk from the train station! About 18 minutes. Very very close to the historical center, so close, right on the edge. Very clean & comfy -- and the bathroom was exceptionally modern with GREAT showers! Small fridge in the room. I opted for the breakfast, it was really quite excellent & really worth the price -- recommended! The staff were very kind & helpful. I would absolutely stay here again. Don't stay outside the historical center -- it is really worth the price to stay "inside" the historical center.

The bed was twin size, but it felt a little small, to be honest. There was only a very small locker in the room (I could put in my laptop. It would have been nice to have access to a kettle on the floor for tea at night! There was however a small fridge.

A very good place for a night or two, there was even a kitchenette available next to the bedroom.

I received welcome message whilst driving, ie at very short notice. Therefore on arriving after a very difficult journey , I got to Via Della Zecca and did not know where to park or about their arrival protocols. If these had been sent earlier in the day, I would have known these. Also Googlemaps does not represent the way into the old city well, so finding the location was problematic and stressful. It would be good if a clear description with a map was included.

Lovely accommodation in walled city

Location was great in the walled city and very easy to walk to parkrun the next morning. Good breakfast...much more than I expected. Friendly staff. Less than 1km from Lucca station and easy route to walk to La Gemma Di Elena.

Fantastic location, very central, and lovely and helpful staff.

Fantastic location at the hotel. The staff were super helpful - my partner is vegan, and they went the extra mile to provide suitable breakfast - which was very good anyway. Lots of local foods to choose from, and the staff were quite happy for guests to take leftovers for lunch later. Our room was very spacious and clean and comfortable.

A great stay at la Gemma di Elena

Location was great, and parking was provided at the place at an extra charge. Staff was very helpful and provided breakfast that I required due to my allergies.

There was nothing I did not like.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Location is good. Everything is walking distance. The bedroom and the bathroom were very clean and well equipped (eg sockets newsr the bed)! The first guest house in Italy I ve been to to have basic toiletries provided. Also towels! Very handy

The owner and the boy who are doing the reception are really nice and helpful. The dorm is located directly next to the most interesting places in Lucca.

The room is really small. Especially when you are traveling alone and have a stranger in the room there is a feeling that you shouldn't take the space. In relation with the price it is still really good.

Nice but a little expensive for what it is and staff are hit or miss

Included buffet breakfast was fantastic, so many options both sweet and savoury and included a coffee. Building felt safe as it was in a gated complex. Very close to the old town and easy to access really anything in Lucca you would want to see on foot within the town walls. Nicely decorated building and everything was clean.

I booked a 5 bed mixed dorm, and was put in a two bed room with a male. The somewhat rude host who did my check in didn't really understand what I was saying when I questioned this, and as I was only there for a night and nothing else was available, I had to go along with it. Sharing is obviously fine, that's why I booked a dorm, but sharing with one stranger is a bit uncomfortable and I would not have booked had I known. There also only seemed to be one bathroom (shower and toilet combined) for the whole building, not even a sink elsewhere. The dorms are in a separate building to reception. Its a pretty solid walk to the station too, not a fault of the property as that's just the layout of the town, but something to be aware of.

We really enjoyed our stay! Our hosts answered all our questions and ensured we were comfortable. Lucca is a peaceful city, and all the sights are within walking distance. The room was spacious and clean. Quiet street led to a perfect sleep. Breakfast was filling as well. Thank you!
