Characteristic, private owned place in close visit our of the old centre.

The owners, an elderly couple, were very welcoming, helpful and friendly! The place has a unique own vibe. They offer a simple free complimentary self service breakfast which was a highlight for the children. The place and the room are nicely decorated. Also, if there is space (I.e. if the neighbours have managed to park in an adequate way…;)) , you can park for free ifo the door or otherwise just across the street. There is a balcony with garden view.

The bathroom, although creatively made, is extremely small and difficult to clean. The place was not expensive but compared to all our other stays it was a little less value for money. However for just one night and due to the great location it was satisfactory.

The accommodation was cheap but our stay cost us too much on taxes.

The accommodation was run by a very kind elderly person who tried his best to help. However, he was not living in and we found it difficult to contact him for help during the night.

The room was overpriced because of its location and standard. It is remote from the city and it was not possible for us to make internet connection. We spent too much time waiting for a taxi service. Although we had free WiFi, we could not manage to make internet connection. The password was too complicated and not working. The shower and toilet were of DIY standard. The toilet was too noisy to flush because it was fitted wit a manusurating pump- horrible noise.

Simplicity and good cost with kindness

Kindness of the host couple, even not speaking other language it is possible to communicate and they helped us to keep our things frozen in their house. Thank you! Basic items for breakfast or soft beverages are available to guests. The shared kitchen space is simple but allows you to make your own coffee or quick meals. Cleanliness and location (outside the city center but close by with a car). Free parking in the street.

The accommodation is actually a house adapted for a hotel. The upper floor has 3 rooms that are rented. It is not soundproofing and our "neighbor" did not respect the early hours of the morning with huge noise of doors and talking loudly in the small hallway before 7 am. Our unit didn't have a separate space for the shower (which is inside the room) and this was not clear over the photos. However, the toilet has a separate space with a door.

The place was very quiet and the staff quite kind.

There wasn't cutlery in the common kitchen. There was a double bed and they added an articulate bed, then was impossible to move in the room. There wasn't a teapot in the room. There wasn't bath soap for all of us.

The shower has a radio.

We booked a double room with one single bed and one double bed. When I arrived, we were given a room with only one double bed and the host told us that the room with 2 beds was only for 3 people and not for 2, but we had booked (and paid for) that room with 2 beds!!!! The wifi in the room had a very low signal.

The room and bathroom are clean and quite large. You will feel at home for a while at Grandpa Mau. Pretty good option to spend a few days close to Lucca.

Struttura che permette di raggiungere il centro di Lucca con una camminata di 15 minuti, host disponibile a formine informazioni, letti singoli abbastanza comodi, possibilità di parcheggiare di fronte.

Struttura datata, il bagno nella camera quadrupla è risultato essere molto/troppo piccolo e privo di bidè.

Estar como en casa.

Es una casita antigua regentada por un matrimonio mayor que son encantadores, atentos, serviciales, transmiten paz y tranquilidad. Mau y su esposa nos trataron como familia. Tienen un jardín con mesas y sillas donde puedes estar como en casa. La cocina tiene todo lo necesario. La habitación, sencilla, con aire acondicionado, muy limpia. Se puede aparcar en la calle gratis.
