Room was spotless Breakfast - could of been better. Pastries were left out the night before which meant by the morning, it was very dry. Also, there was limited items available. Maybe think of ways where breakfast can be delightful. ie.a coffee machine, fresh cut fruit, cereal, breakfast pots. Not just pastries, fruite and yoghurt.

The staff and food and service was outstanding and because I travel regularly on business and pleasure, and would like to stay again at this wonderful hotel, unfortunately my room lights seemed dodgy because they kept flickering whenever I used the light switch, plus also the toilet seat fixing had been botched up with tape and was practically falling off!

The stay was overshadowed by the lack of breakfast. We stayed overnight following a 60th birthday celebration. One of the thing we were looking forward to was the “Breakfast served daily until 10:30”. This is actually a not very interesting selection of help yourself breakfast cereals, yogurts, bread, day old croissants, hot water for tea or coffee. Certainly not the breakfast we were expecting and not a member of staff insight. If we were aware that this was The George’s idea of “Breakfast served daily until 10:30” we would have booked somewhere else. Very disappointing😔.

Food was really good. Comfy bed and pillows nice treat of cookies delivered to room. Was woken by fire alarm at 4:45am and neither of landlords really knew what to do and didn’t communicate what was happening leaving residents out in the cold. Other than that a good stay.

The staff were wonderful. The room was a good size and was welcoming. It was a continental breakfast, which suited us, as we were able to get what we wanted and take it to the room to eat. The dinner was delicious and there was plenty of it. Because the hotel is not staffed overnight, they asked if we wanted fresh milk and organised a little bottle for us. They also gave me a large bottle of water, as I had not had time to buy one.

Beautiful building very clean and cosy. Check in was stress free and the guys who checked us in were friendly and efficient. The only down side was that service was a little slow in the evening in the restaurant. We had to ask for dessert menu and bill.

Very handy and comfortable /clean overnight stay before early morning flight at Bristol Airport. Very easy 15 mins to Airport at 4am. Great check out at that time and even had a continental breakfast available. Well thought out. Highly recommend! Also we had good food in the evening and helpful and friendly staff. Lovely Somerset pub. Easy, clean, comfortable and welcoming. Will return!

Fab! Slightly disturbed night as our room was onto main road. Bed was a bit soft for my preference but thats a personal view and others may love it. Great hosts, nice Beer and stunning food in pub

We made a very last minute booking for a brief stay for an early morning flight. We were made to feel very welcome in this lovely pub. They went out of their way to tell us there would be no food available in the evening due to a flood but we were amazed a breakfast was left ready for us if we wanted it at whatever time in the morning. Really comfortable and clean rooms and a lovely cosy country pub setting. Will definitely stay again. Thank you.

Ideal location if intending to use the airport. Excellent quality and choice of food if dining in, supported by a self serve buffet continental breakfast for early leavers. There is also plenty of room in the car park.

Beautiful bar & restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. The room was clean and comfortable. We were only staying to catch a flight the next morning which worked perfectly for us, despite an early checkout we were able to take some breakfast to eat in the airport. Strongly recommended, we’ll definitely go back.

Arrived, nice welcome; taken to room via a hazardous staircase (I am disabled); room seemed ok until we noticed the poorly maintained and unclean bathroom; went down for food at 645pm, to be told food service closed at 6pm but no mention when checking in; told that breakfast (i .e. pastries etc) would be laid out at 3am for early starters, nothing except juice, toast, kettle etc. Nice pub, with grounds, but lacking as a b and b.

Great pub and accommodation. Rooms were clean, bed was comfy, shower was powerful and hot. Food in the pub/restaurant was top quality and reasonably priced. If I lived local The George at Backwell would be a regular visit. Staff at check in and in the bar were helpful, polite and informative. 5 Star stay.

Continental breakfast only on my stay which was left out overnight as there were no staff there in the morning. Stale pastries, toast and cereal only. Not acceptable at the price i paid for the night. No milk for the tea. Left and got breakfast elsewhere. Other than that the room was ok. Shower drain was blocked though so had to stop the shower flooding the bathroom with towels. Meal at night was great and the staff were efficient.

We had booked The George as we were flying from Bristol Airport early in the morning and it was only a 10 minutes drive away. Car parking facilities were great with plenty of spaces, however very dark as there was no lighting. The bar was spacious, as was the restaurant. The food was delicious. Lovely big beer garden with a great seating area. Rooms were comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was continental which was perfect for us as were left the premises at 3.30am. All in all a fabulous stay and would definitely book to stay there again.
