The location was perfect. Just next to the bus stop to take you to town and in the heart of Clifton Village.

Fantastic location right in the heart of Clifton Village, with a bus connection right outside the door. Loved the small touches like fruit, ground coffee and biscuits in the room. Staff super friendly and always ready to help.
Would have appreciated a smaller, healthy continental breakfast offering perhaps at a cheaper price. Water pressure was a slight issue at certain times, but not significant.

Location was great
We were put on the top floor so need to be fit to get up there due to steep steps

Lovely hotel in a really nice building in a great location. Staff very friendly, room clean with a nice range of tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits.
The room was far too hot. Even turning the radiator off we had to have the window open all night - in February. I noticed a lot of rooms at the front had their window open when we went for breakfast. I can only imagine that a few people complain about being cold but the level of heat was unnecessary and not great for the climate

Lovely building, nice and warm, incredibly helpful staff. Quiet rooms even with a busy restaurant
Not much to have issue with - it’s simple and functional but nice

Lovely hotel in Clifton, not far from the suspension bridge. The staff are friendly. Lobby welcoming. Room was very clean and nicely furnished.
It's difficult to spot from the road. The restaurant is signposted but not the hotel. We drove past.

The Rodney Hotel is in a central location in Clifton Village and close to the Suspension Bridge. Also close to bus stops so you could leave your car at the hotel and travel in and out of the centre of Bristol very easily. We had a large room overlooking the garden. The pillows were very soft and comfortable. The staff were lovely, especially Maisie at Reception. They said treat the place like your own home so we wore our slippers at breakfast (very risque..). The Rodney was also brilliant value for money.
The breakfasts could have been better organised. As we arrived around 8:30am, there was hardly anything left on the Continental section and nothing was replenished. I had no problem with my cooked breakfast, I chose Eggs Royale on two days, which were delicious. However my partner chose traditional cooked breakfasts which were overcooked and the bacon was like leather (his words, not mine). The final day he decided to try a small portion of Eggs Royale and his egg was still raw. He should have said something but he chose not to. It was such a shame as everything else was lovely. However, we both agreed we would like to go back as it was such a lovely hotel.

The historical stature of the hotel and the way modern facilities were blended into its architecture
The room was smaller than I anticipated

Friendly, helpful reception staff. Smart, if compact, room on second floor at the back overlooking garden, with opening window for fresh air. Comfy beds, soft duvets and pillows. Cosy bathroom with bathtub and large, soft towels. Range of teas and cafetiere coffee. Convenient parking.
Nothing significant.

It was convenient for what we needed and we were barely there as arrived very late and left early.
It was a bit of a climb to the top floor

Fabulous little Hotel in an old Clifton townhouse. The staff were all extremely helpful. Great location and on a bus route which is convinient (number 8 from Temple Meads). Bed super comfortable.
Heating on a timer.
There was a plug in heater but it kept blowing cold then hot air.
The double room was much smaller than expected, for 7 days stay claustrophobic.

It was a very quaint room with some nice amenities. Fresh fruit was a welcome sight as it’s usually chocolate and biscuits.
Nothing at all.

Convenient location, very close to a bus stop
The double room did not match the photos shown online and was much smaller than expected.
Facilities are outdated (e.g. the hair dryer and chair) and could use replacement.
Housekeeping was missed during the first two days, and I had to request towels and toilet paper at the counter, which was really tiring.

Location is excellent, and all the staff were lovely. The building is very attractive, and the rooms very sensibly furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. Nice to have real coffee in the room.
Bathroom was very compact and in need of an update. I've stayed in other rooms at this hotel with better bathrooms, so perhaps it is work in hand.

The accommodation was excellent and situated in quiet residential area in Clifton with good transport links and a short walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Downs.
I feel safe staying here as the hotel is staffed 24/7 and their are no problems with other residents
Sa a Grade2 listed building their is no lift which does not suit everybody but their are basement rooms available .
The breakfast choices and service are wonderful but I would prefer a Coffee machine with a choice of coffees.

I only stayed for one night but such a lovely place, great staff who were very helpful and it was ideal location for my appointment. The breakfast was exceptional and at a comfortable time, great stop over and I have no hesitation in returning and recommending The Rodney Hotel if you are visiting Clifton/Bristol.

The location in the centre of Clifton Village is fantastic. Friendly and helpful staff.
We were given room 2 in the basement next to the public toilets for those visiting the bar. A lot of noise from people going up and down the stairs. Well after the bar had closed, furniture was being moved around the room upstairs which made it difficult to sleep. The standard of bathroom was like a tired student flat. Marks in the bath, cheap toilet seat, grotty old tiles. Acceptable for one night but we won't be visiting again.

the staff and the happy hour! the staff were really lovely, helpful and always friendly. the bed was comfortable and loved that there was fresh fruit in the room. the breakfast was lovely and good quality
the doors are difficult to open and were really loud when closed. I couldn't hear anybody in the rooms, which was great, but the voices outside the room and the doors closing was really loud.

A comfortable bed. The location is excellent, easy on street parking.
Expensive for the standard of room. Very old shabby bathroom, bedroom was in the roof so 3 flights of stairs and some very challenging (with suitcases) attic stairs and no offer to help. It was noisy with doors slamming late and early.

Checking in was easy and efficient and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for us as we were visiting relatives in Clifton. Whilst on the small side the room was well equipped and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. There was a well stocked minibar. Breakfast was very good.
There was nothing not to like

This is a very welcoming and comfortable hotel. The staff are always attentive and friendly and the 24 hour concierge is so helpful, also making it feel more secure. There's a lot to like about this place. Many small touches, for instance the thoughtful and effective lighting in the room or the bowl of fruit and freshly ground coffee provided, mean we keep returning. We regularly stay in Bristol at short notice and the Rodney continues to provide a top quality service for the price in Clifton.
Weekday breakfast hours might be extended a little

We loved the property. We did think the food could have been a little better. It didn’t feel that fresh.

Attention to detail - facilities better than I expected for a reasonably priced room
Quiet, comfortable & not too hot (window was open giving fresh air - hate hotels where you can’t do that)
I feel for the price of the room, the things that could have been better eg more space/fewer stairs could have been achieved if I’d been prepared to pay more but as it was, the room was fine.
