Boznerhütte - La Baita Bolzano

The apartment was located on a nice block in the City Center. The bed was comfortable, and the shower worked well, with plenty of hot water. Despite the lackluster decor, the apartment kind of grew on us, and overall, it was a good stay. We used the washing machine, and it was decent once you figured how to use it for a rapid wash.

The photos on Booking.com when I made reservations months ago were a bit deceiving. The apartment was not as big as I expected. The decor left a lot to be desired. A blue couch that was featured in the photos I reviewed must have been replaced by an uncomfortable, drab tan couch that was difficult to sit on for long periods of time. I think it was a folding bed--though we didn't use it. The tv was pretty old but functioned well. Though there was only one flight of stairs leading to the apartment, the iron banister was somewhat rickety, and we did not look forward to going up and down the short stairs. The view was a bust. There was no view--though you could sit outside on a decent sized balcony if you wanted to. We did not.

Location was good, in a quiet street close enough to pretty much everything. Comfortable bed. Host allowed us to check in early which was very helpful.

The terrace was a bit uninspiring as it just looks over a roof.

Pros: Bed - totally subjective but I found it comfortable! Washer - great to have, drying rack on the balcony Coffee pods - plenty for our stay, both regular and decaf Towels - 3 towels for each person Deck - not a view per se but a nice place to sit outside with 2 chairs and a table Extra blanket, supplies in bathroom - the extra blanket in the armoire and various supplies in the bathroom were a nice touch although we didn't use any of them. Toaster - so many apartments don't have one, much appreciated! Kettle - if you're a tea drinker, nice to have Espresso machine - easy to use Moka pot - as a backup or alternative for the espresso maker, nice Sugar and tea bags - nice to have Location - amazing! right in the heart of it all, you could walk everywhere Alessandra - kind and responsive host Trash bins for recycling - outside the apartment, easy to access (although some direction on mixed waste might have been helpful) A/c - desperately needed and appreciated. But if you're from the US, adjust your expectations accordingly as Italian a/c is not frigid Bolzano pass - while we didn't end up using this, I was excited to have it available for the free public transport options and discounts to various events etc. Closet/storage areas - plentiful for two people to unpack and keep suitcases/backpacks out of the way

Cons (but not deal breakers for me): Stairs - one flight of stairs to apartment but the stairs are a bit rough so if you have mobility issues, just take a look at the photos Shower floor extremely slippery - definitely if you are mobility limited but even for those who are not Bedside table missing - it would be great to have bedside tables on both sides Hooks in bathroom - I find this to be an issue in many of these apartment rentals but it would be great to have some hooks to separate and hang the towels instead of overlapping them all on the bathroom radiator above the bidet.
