Breakfast was good, very well organized and varied. Everything was ok, as expected from the photos and description

Just to clarify to others if required, you can park in front of the hotel and pay in the machine in the corner or via easy park as I did. Sunday was free parking.

Very basic hotel. Really don’t get the pink horse in the entrance, makes it look a bit seedy. Location is fine. Feel photos used on booking.com is not a realistic representation of the actual hotel

Great value clean and tidy hotel.

Well laid out, clean, simple rooms. Good location for both town and transport. Large airy lounge with free tea and coffee throughout the day. Good breakfast buffet. Situated right next to historic city gate. Ended up staying for a week and explored area by motorcycle.

Lovely location with helpful staff and a decent breakfast

We had two nights at the Hotel Am Marschiertor and it was a fabulous location within easy walking access of the old city. We had a spacious room on floor 4 although it was bakingly hot, until we worked out the portable AC unit needed water! The wifi was good, there was a decent desk for work and the shower was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast had plenty of options and was a great start to the day The hotel was 10 mins walk to the cathedral, straight down the road so it was easy to navigate! Decor was a little dated but it was clean, well organised and a pleasant and good value stay.

Convenient and great breakfast

Clean, comfortable rooms, a couple blocks from the train station and about 10 minutes from the old town. Wonderful breakfast and spacious bathroom. Cool to be right next to the old city gate.

No air conditioning, and our room faced a loud street. Once the weather cooled a bit this was less of an issue. Note that their information says “laundry service” but they mean towels, not your clothes. Was a little confusing, but we found a laundromat in town.

Nothing exceptional, but good value for the money

The price was not bad. I liked the location. It was easy to walk there from the railway station but also a walk to old city center was not long. The breakfast was reasonably good. The personnel was really nice.

There was a strong smell of some washing agent in the room when I arrived. The room was a bit too warm as they was no air-conditioning, but I survived.

Cozy and cute stay

Good location, old hotel with character! The room was on the first floor with a huge window that I had kept open for a nice view across the street. I liked that their check-in time started early and checkout time was late, compared to the usual thats offered in all hotels.

There wasn't an option to choose a room without breakfast, even though the food was good, I typically don't prefer to pay a lot to have a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel. I went ahead with the booking as it was only for a day.

A charming hotel in the city centre. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the rooms are large. Very comfortable and quiet. We only stayed one night but this hotel would be good for a longer stay.

It was annoying to book a smoking room and then find it was not available.

Location excellent. Breakfast fine.

I booked a smoking room. It was not available when I checked in as "the hotel was full". I had to move to the smoking room on the second day and then had to ask for an ashtray as there was none in the room. There was no fan in the first room so it was too warm.

Charming and convenient.

Nice rooms, functional and comfortable. Good breakfast. Great location for station and old town. The staff were friendly and very accommodating to our baby, providing a travel cot and a kettle so we could prepare her bottles in the room.

The quality of the toilet roll was not good, we had to buy our own.

Best place to stay in aachen.. just 5 minutes walk in HBF. The hotel room was amazing spotless Breakfast was amazing with amazing friendly staff.

Near the Main Station in Aachen

Very central location -- across from the main train station. The breakfast was excellent, much better than we were expecting for the price point of the hotel. Our room had windows on both sides, and looked out onto the town gate. It was quiet, but that was in January with the windows closed, I suspect the room is louder in the summer, between the trains and the foot traffic.

The parking lot is at the main station, and conveniently across the street -- I don't know why the hotel doesn't just say that, instead of coyly saying that they'll explain when you arrive?

Friendly hotel, convenient for rail station and Dom Christmas market. Excellent breakfast and I always love an honesty bar plus free hot coffee coming back in the evening. Good value.

Disappointed. Old and nothing in the room. Poor pillows and awkward dated place.u

On Bookingcom were promised a king and queen and got a double twin. Rooms are OK size but dated and needing tlc. Clean. We booked for being near the train station. Breakfast was okay. My pictures show the re state of things. Our room had a long hallway with old red carpet so when I saw plastic on the pillows I thought " oh no!". Turned out to be a tiny packet of cheap haribo lollies a bit insulting really. Dangerous steps at night in hallway to bath. TV on desk so bad angle to view. No air conditioning. Promised a heritage view but got dirty rooves instead Have a look at the pics.

No coffee, tea or water in room. No AC. Dangerous steps.
