Hôtel La Charbonnade

Great location in the center of Dudelange. Although breakfast isn't an option at the hotel, there are plenty of options as this hotel is in the heart of town. Great bakeries and cafes around the corner, so a good choice of "fancy" breakfast or a simpler "butter on toast" option. Supermarket and retail shops within easy reach. Train station within walking distance and bus stops too. The rooms are on the small side, pretty basic, but it was clean and there was plenty of hot water. A fan was provided as the temperature was +30 degrees during our stay! A vending machine at the entrance provides an option to get water, fizzy drinks and snacks, should you wish. Check in was easy and friendly.

No aircon, but not to be expected in Luxembourg, I guess. A big one for us: no kettle - so no coffee/tea making facilities, but maybe that's just a UK thing?

If you're not an early bird you might be bothered by the church bells was not a problem for me

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were lovely. Room was clean and bed comfortable.

Very difficult to find using a satnav as it is set back from the road at right angles. We drove around for quite a while before finding it. Although it has a restaurant where we had breakfast, it was not open in the evening. Dudelange is a pleasant place and it would have been good to have some recommendations where to go. We did find somewhere nice to eat after walking around a bit. It was quite hot so air confitioning or being able to open the window.
