8 / 10Excellent·Oct 2026
The comfortable quiet night's sleep. Bedside lamps that are dimmer lights and movement sensitive so no struggling to find the switch. Great scenery and walking area everywhere, worth the 'exciting' driving. You just have to remember if the heating oil tanker can get through so can your car - just not at the same time!
Being tired and not remembering that the front doorbell is on the side window for late arrivals!

A superb meal , lovely host and fine old school pub and hotel. Loved it.

Excellent breakfast, comfy, homely room. Fantastic quiet location near a beautiful river. Best tasting tap water in England and you felt part of history here.
Rooms a bit dated, and our bathroom on had a bath, which turned out to be nice, but I usually have showers

Good location for hikes. Quiet and secluded. Very quiet during the night for sleeping.
Door constantly slamming up until around 9pm. Shower very weak flow but warm. Dubious if the duvet cover and pillowcases had been washed. bath not dry on arrival.
