Aa soon aa you arrive you are treated as family, very much an escape to the country where the only sound through the bedroom is the occasional sheep or cow. It is calm and serene, such a change and off the beaten path. And yes to get there is a single track road (it is situated on a working farm so expect a tractor or a bailer as soon as you enter the property). And of course expect working farm dogs to come and say hello. The veiws from the room are to die for! (The attached picture is a view from the room i stayed in)
Honestly, theres bit much i didn't like. You do have to get creative with parking if you aren't the only guest, but there are options. And as i mentioned before, working farm so expect a tractor to slow you down, but take it as it is.

Angela was a very welcoming host and It was old fashioned in the nicest possible way. We took the whole house for 6 cycling women. All the rooms had en suite bathrooms and the breakfast was good farmhouse fare. It was in a very quiet and beautiful location.
We loved it. If you wanted state of the art modern, it wouldn’t suit you.

I had a great stay at Heathergate Cottage en route to Lands End. Angela the host is very warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure I had a comfortable stay. The room was well equipped, clean and cozy. The breakfast was delicious.
The cottage was a little off the track but it had no issues with leaving my motorcycle parked up overnight.
