Ample parking. Excellent location. Friendly staff. Spacious and clean rooms. Good selection of ales.
No breakfast option, but we knew this at time of booking. There were plenty of alternative breakfast options within a max of 5 minute walking.

Lovely Room comfortable and just what was needed for me. Food in bar was excellent
No coffee in room - checking at 4pm is quite late normally 3pm at others latest. No breakfast option not even toast and coffee.

It has a free car park attached which was useful as parking in Okehampton is difficult
The bar was pleasant and we had a good welcome
Our room wasn’t serviced on the second night and we ran out of coffee and hot chocolate
We were disappointed that no breakfast was served and we had to walk to Wetherspoon forvthat

Very large double room, even a table to seat 4, plus an adjoining fair-sized room with 2 single beds. Characterful room with old beams, lovely modern bathroom.
Location in centre of Okehampton is excellent
Arrived 20 minutes early and were disappointed we weren’t allowed to check-in til allocated time, 4pm.
Some sleepy flies flying around (November), room basically clean.

Great location, with easy, secure parking around the back. The Staff were friendly, Breakfast, Dinner and the local Jail Ale very good! Room was quiet enough ( apart from rad noise ) and the TV had been fixed since my last visit.
Wi-fi wasn't brilliant and as I was staying 3 nights, I would have expected someone to check on me/the room and replaced some of the items used, such as fresh water, teabags etc.
Also I did raise the air in the towel radiator was noisy a couple of nights, plus couldn't get the towel fully dry as it needed bleeding, but nothing happened.

Comfy beds, very clean. Lovely shower.
I felt that the room per night £112.50 was quite over priced considering that breakfast was not provided. When I asked about breakfast I was told that they are not offering breakfast at the moment. inconvenience to have to go and find somewhere else to eat.

Quaint and central.
Narrow staircase is tricky with luggage but all forgivable because it’s a very old character property

Breakfast, was poor.
Evening meal was very poor as well as breakfast. Pie was cold, chicken tough.
At breakfast, poached eggs not cooked enough, butter pats were liquid, not offered jam etc. In room, plug got stuck, mattress was very uncomfortable, such a shame because nice room.

Good location if you're staying in Okehampton only 15 mins or so walk from station. Really nice breakfast on the whole and the staff were all lovely.
Overall not a bad place to stay.
The room could have used lets say a proper deep clean and refresh, but decent size bathroom just not what I expected for the price when I first arrived.
Most mornings something was missing from breakfast menu, but what was there was nice and overall these things do happen just reason it wasnt 10/10

I had a wonderful night's rest here on a short visit to Okehampton for a walk on the moor. I arrived quite late having eaten, so didn't use the restauraunt/bar, but went straight to my room. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, and a good temperature, as was the bathroom. The bar was quite noisy when I checked in, but I couldn't hear any noise from my room. There was a good selection at breakfast and the food was good.
Breakfast was served from 8AM and wasn't super quick, so bear this in mind if wanting to make an early start.

Location.
Good room size.
Crisp white sheets and towels.
The food is substantial and good value with an extensive menu.
Breakfast was really good, served on hot plates.
Evening and breakfast staff were absolutely lovely. Both friendly ladies, very welcoming.
Not really a dislike - finding and accessing the car park was a little difficult.
Male staff on arrival wasn’t particularly welcoming but the evening and breakfast staff made up for it.

The bar is great and staff lovely
The room was awful, mattresses were so hard, the bathroom was really dirty mould in shower, hairs and dust all over bathroom, macerator for toilet which kept going off all night. Not pleasant and certainly not worth £130

Lovely historic building with lots of character. Helpful bar staff with a good selection of drinks.
Chef made a couple of blunders with our evening meal but the bar staff helped salvage the situation. Breakfast took some time to arrive.

Center of town location is handy, but in such a small town is easily achieved.
Food was just below average. Would recommend the Weatherspoons round the corner instead.
There was no hot water in the room provided, so management moved us to a suite, in which the heating was not working.

When you walk passed this place on Oakhampton high street, the painted sign says: "public house with rooms". That is exactly what it is - a public house with rooms. Beware if you have small children, or impressionable teenagers as the clientele is weekend-night loud, the air is blue and the foul language goes on into the night, spilling out onto the street under your bedroom window till the early hours. There was WiFi but it only worked upstairs. The all girl bar staff/waitresses' skirts were so short they kept tugging at the hem, their t-shirts knotted up at the back. All except for one but she seemed to be spaced-out and scared when asked for a slice of the chocolate cake from the cabinet behind her. There didn't seem to be any grown-ups around. Our shower wouldn't get hot, the room wasn't cleaned but we were only staying for 2 nights so we could cope. There was tea and coffee and a bottle of water in the room, but these weren't refreshed after the first night. The breakfast wasn't the usual help-yourself buffet, it was table service which was nice but then the food was no more than what would have from a box at Iceland. Overall, okay. It was an alright base for a couple of nights.
The potty-mouth language loud under my bedroom window. The all-girl waiting staff in teeny-weeny skirts and t-shirts knotted up at the back to make them extra, extra tight. Our shower didn't get hot.

The room was lovely. The staff were very nice. I didn't ask for a quiet room during booking. I asked for accessible access for an elderly disabled person. The manager kindly accommodated my mum's mobility scooter in a store cupboard outside on the ground floor. Evening meal was good, but I waited 15 minutes at the bar for service.
It was a 16th century building with 2 very steep flights of stairs up to our room. My mum is elderly and it was a challenge for her. Breakfast was disappointing. My mum asked for bread butter and marmalade. She was presented with two very thickly cut doorstops with 2 butters and grapefruit marmalade. As a heart patient, grapefruit is the only fruit she cannot eat. I asked for wholemeal bread. It was unavailable. I went to the bakery across the road and bought one and had it sliced. i presented it to the member of staff on breakfast duty and asked if it could be toasted please. Back came 2 slices of charcoal!!! I am also on medication, cannot eat white flour or grapefruit. The marmalade was grapefruit. After breakfast, we popped out to Peacocks before getting ready for the wedding. We were only gone half an hour. On our return, we found the building was locked up and unstaffed. My mum had to wait with her mobility scooter outside the locked front door and I had to yomp round the back of the building, go through the car park and managed to get in that way. No mean feat when I have had major knee surgery recently. I then opened the front door, but my mum couldn't bring in her scooter and had to leave it outside the front door, lift her foot over the very high threshhold to be able to access the building. Mum already had her outfit on for the wedding on, as the 2 flights of steps would have been too much for her to cope with more than once a day. I then ascended the stairs and got ready for the wedding.

We arrived after a long drive, told there was no room and they had booked into a hotel down the road. I paid for a room with breakfast. When we get to other hotel, told no breakfast. Lady rings Riverside told we can’t have breakfast. I spend 45 mins on phone to Booking.com at 11pm I receive a text saying we can now have breakfast.
Hotel we stayed in much cheaper. Riverside Inn have taken my money and pocketed in for nothing. Still trying to get a refund

When we arrived we were disappointed with our room as it was on the main road. The manager kindly moved us to a much nicer and quieter bedroom. Also provided us with safe storage for our bikes.
The breakfast was chaotic. We had to ask for bowls, milk and spoons. No fruit or fruit juice. No offer of toast. Just one waitress trying to cope

It is a nice looking old Inn in the heart of Okehampton
My bedroom had a broken handle on the entrance to the room with screws hanging out which could have been dangerous to myself or the staff member who let me into the room .

Firstly. The location couldn't be better if you're looking to be in amongst the action. You're right in the beating heart of town. The rooms are well sized and comfortable with adequate facilities for a short stay. Great breakfast. Very tasty dinners all served with a smile by the very friendly staff. Also Dartmoor ales to die for!
If you were staying more than a few days you'd benefit from a good chest of draws for your clothes. Minor point really.

Great find! We spent one overnight stay here and would definitely stay again. Location is great, and was ideal for us. Staff were very friendly and helpful, efficient service with a smile! Limited parking but a public car park extremely nearby. Food and atmosphere were very good, good menu choice, and the garden was perfect on a warm summer evening, to relax and enjoy! Rooms were very comfortable, providing everything you need for your stay, and spacious too. Hearty breakfast, and included in the night's rate.
Busy with lovely locals, and you are definitely made to feel welcome.
Nothing really to not like.
Six rooms in total, and rooms 1 & 2 on the second floor, the other 4 rooms are on the first floor. Second floor stairs are quite steep, so if you struggle with stairs, better to request a rooms 1 to 4, with just one flight of stairs which are wider and not as steep.

The pub, staff, and food/drink & breakfast were good, although a bit limited for vegetarians, as is the case in many venues.
The bedroom was uncomfortable, particularly the small "double" bed and very uncomfortable pillows. Unfortunately, the shower, which looked impressive, produced only a triickle of water. The room itself (room 4) was next to a very busy road, which got worse from daylight at about 4 am, especially with passing lorries, so NOT a very comfortable night. Why we were charged an extra £20 a night for a dog makes no sense.
4.0 / 10.0
Our room was very hot, and it is on a noisy road. They provided a fan, but we needed to have the window wide open all night. We stayed for two nights but there was no room make up/refreshment of tea/coffee etc. we were a group of 4 staying and 3 friends joined us for supper. We all ordered together but paid separately. The food took quite a while and finally arrived together for 5 of us but the other had to wait another 15 -20 minutes - one because they had served her the wrong dish and the other we have no idea why it took so long. Particularly as she had ordered her food before most of us. So we had all finished eating when their food finally arrived. Problem was We were made to feel like by the waitress that it was our fault and no apology was offered for the delayed meals or that the wrong dish had been prepared.
We had eaten in the local Wetherspoons the night before (where the 3 friends were staying )and although the food wasn’t as good the service had been excellent . The bedrooms were far better in Wetherspoons as well which surprised us.

Big room with a bit of character in the decor
Getting to the rooms was interesting due to the design of stairs up and then down into an extension.
