Very welcoming host, lovely room and big bathroom (complete with bathrobes) - even a fridge in room with fresh milk for drinks. Very quiet and great for our small dog (at no extra charge which was nice) who was allowed to play in one of the fields and the garden. Parking just outside. It was easy to get a response about checking in and good directions and eating out recommendations given prior to our stay. We stayed overnight on route to Cornwall, so the location suited us. You would need a car/transport. Not too far from Okehampton - we did notice bus stops on the main road, but the property is a little way off the main road but lovely views and surrounding countryside. We did drive to the nearest pub for evening meal - also dog friendly.
It is not a negative, but breakfast was continental (I had assumed it would be full English, but to be fair I didn't check ) - I just requested gluten free for myself. There was a selection of fruit, yogurt and cheese/ham, juices and tea and coffee. Jane did manage to get GF bread for me. It would be nice if the type of breakfast was advertised (I can't remember if it was I think it just said included). It would be nice to have the option of cooked, even if just eggs.

We had a great stay at lovaton farm. The grounds are lovely and the kids would wake up and play outside on the large garden and watch the cows. Jane was a great host. Very friendly lady and although she is very busy running the farm and all the other jobs she does. She really took care of us and always went the extra mile.

Good continental breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, toast, croissants, cheese, ham and tomatoes also available with a selection of preserves, tea or a cafetière of coffee. Jane was very obliging in providing what you needed for breakfast, just let her know before you arrive if you have any dietary requirements. Bed was comfortable, small fridge with Apple Juice, Jaffa Cakes and fruit provided. All items you would need was provided in the bathroom. There is even a small freezer section in the fridge. Lovely setting in the countryside.
Lanes to the property are a little narrow. No hairdryer in the room but I am sure Jane would have provided one if needed.

Wonderful hospitality, location was quite rural. Room was big and spacious.
Main A30 was closer than expected. As a result, the traffic could be clearly heard all the time, which was a pity as the surroundings were beautiful. Room could have done with a more comfortable chair to sit on and t.v. could have been bigger as I struggled to read text when I sat in the bed.

Jane was very warm and welcoming and worked tirelessly to make sure we had a comfortable stay. The breakfast was exceptional, with great choice including strawberries and grapes, a cheeseboard and meats.
The fact that we were only there 2 nights, but we will be retuning later in the year

This was a room in the farmhouse. It was large, with a large bed (actually 2 singles pushed together, but hard to tell it wasn't a large double). The ensuite was also a good size with shower over the bath that worked well. Breakfast was tailored to our preferences with tea, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad and toast with marmalade/jam.
Access wasn't quite as simple as we'd thought from the map. Approaching from the west, you drive along the A30 a couple of miles to return on a country road and get onto the farm's potholed drive. Only a minor point.

Lovaton Farmhouse was a great experience. The room was well-cleaned and furnished with basic toiletries and towels for the ensuite bathroom. There was WIFI, a TV, separate beds as requested, and some tea and coffee. The breakfast was amazing, especially the meat produced on the farm. The hosts were welcoming and willing to host my two dogs. The farm had ample space for them to run around without chasing any animals and the property was well-fenced so I did not worry about letting them off the lead.
Being 6 feet tall the single bed for me was a bit small but I know this is the same for all single beds so not really an issue, jus more of an information point for the next customer.
The bathroom could do with a little TLC like a bit of re-siliconing around the bath but I have spoken to the hosts who have said they are renovating room by room.

Jane and Simon were so welcoming and provided such wonderful hospitality. The breakfast was super scrummy and most of it came from their farm. Our room was clean and spacious with added extras such as apple juice and cookies. Nothing seemed too much trouble and guided us as to good places to eat. Access to an EV charge point as well as being allowed to bring our dog was an added bonus for us.
Not able to get the t.v. to work and drinking water in our room was via the bathroom tap.

Incredibly spacious room, great breakfast, lovely setting and very welcoming hosts. A lovely stay all round and very good value for money. Also had some lovely fresh apple juice included.
Accessibility might be tricky for some, the lane to the farm is narrow and bumpy, wasn't a problem for us but I wouldn't take a low to the ground car.

Location was a perfect jumping off point for Dartmoor national park. Jane was very knowledgable and helpful in recommending where to eat (we loved the Railway Inn) and what to do. Room was big, beds comfortable, and it was exactly what we were looking for in our English countryside farm stay. The breakfasts were delicious, especially the bacon and sausage which are meats from their farm and were like no breakfast meats I have ever eaten! Fresh juice from their orchard in our room refrigerator was a nice touch, also very delicious.

Large room in the farm house which was clean. Beds and facilities not quite up to hotel quality, but so long as you understand this before hand it should not matter, as we slept well and we were comfortable. Breakfast was good and hosts, who were obviously hard working and friendly, catered for my wife’s dietary needs. The b&b is also dog friendly.
The TV was small and not working properly. Little touches, such as shower gel was empty and had been filled with water (luckily we had brought some).
We didn’t like the fact that there was no lock on our room, especially as other guests who we did not know were in the property. We decided to keep any valuables with us when out. We raised this with the owners who said that they have never had any problems, which was reassuring.

Jane was a very welcoming host and flexible to timing changes. The room was very spacious with a gorgeous rural view and the breakfast was absolutely delicious (and included products from the farm). The location was a great combination of feeling off the beaten track while still being very accessible from the A30.
Not that it caused us any real issue, but for some reason the TV in the room only picked up a handful of BBC channels and nothing else. Otherwise this stay was fantastic.

Wonderful host and fabulous breakfast. Would highly recommend.
Nothing was too much trouble and so helpful on places to visit and see.
Room was very large and spacious as was the bathroom.
We had our little girl (2) with us , she was given bath toys for bathtime, and a story books. She was even brought a bucket and spade for the beach for her.
Will definitely be back ...

Jane was super-friendly and did everything possible to welcome us to her home. We had everything we needed and were able to check in very early which meant we were able to start our holiday early. The breakfasts were delicious, the room was large and easily able to accommodate my family of 4 plus dog. The farm well-located to explore the area with many beautiful walks and the coast accessible too.

Jane and her son Ben were incredibly helpful and friendly, really made me feel at home and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble and I asked for a lot of little things. I had my dog with me and he was accommodated beautifully - though just a note that of you have a dog that needs space from other dogs, they have two. Location was great for me to travel to Bowerland (Devon Dogs), close to A30. Lovely walks around and Drogo Castle very close by where you can walk along the river. There's a Morrisons petrol garage nearby which was handy. A list of takeaway delivery options would be good for those not wanting to go out to a pub but lots of pubs locally to go and eat at. I'd love to bring my family down here at some point, lots of animals on the farm and they would love it! Food was wonderful and a complimentary bottle of their own pressed apple juice was gifted on arrival, along with biccies, chocolates and milk/tea in the room. A fridge in the room was also so useful! There's no lock for the bedroom door but as it's just the family there and one other B&B room it didn't phase me. Highly recommend Lovaton!
Room could do with a little bit of an upgrade and not soundproof at all.

The location is great, the farm has a lovely garden with a little stone circle and a tree house as well. The host was also very helpful and welcoming.
Nothing to add here.

Well presented breakfast with quality ingredients. Super helpful hosts who went the extra mile. Nice garden that was made available
Driveway more suited to a 4x4 than any car with low suspension (like mine)
