Great for central Bovey Tracey

Nice breakfast Great location, centre of Bovey Tracey, shops a minute walk away and park super close. Good sized room. Staff friendly but seemed super busy especially in the morning.

Shower was a bit lacking in power!

Friendly, clean , warm nicely decorated. Food delicious

Only roof leaked but they knew about it and we're waiting for roofer. Dripping into carpet in our room. But there was nothing else they could do

Very happy to stay another time.

Shower controls very straightforward. Beds comfortable. Cleanliness fine. Dinner specials a real treat. Generous portions but not overpowering well presented, great quality at reasonable price. So nice to have this choice rather than usual run of the mill pub food eg burgers. Breakfast good choice of cereals. Full English etc nice to be cooked to order rather than buffet. Husband loved the Dartmoor whisky !

Room 15 we would probably prefer an upstairs room in the better weather as there would be more smokers outside on patio and also may be noisy. Breakfast - hot water in metal jug, not really hot enough for perfect cup of tea. The cost of a bottle of Dartmoor whisky at the Distillery !

Highly recommended & good value for money

Once again, the Cromwell Arms gave us a superb stay. Friendly welcome, spacious room, hot water, hot radiators, nice decor throughout, tasty food, noise-free at night, plentiful parking. Location excellent for Dartmoor but close enough to A38.

Excellent food and wide range of drinks. All the staff go far and beyond to help make your stay wonderful. Would highly recommend and definitely return.

Good value for short stopover

Bed was comfortable with lovely white cotton sheets. Breakfast was ok, but some fruit would have been nice. Staff were pleasant.

The room was quite cold - heating must have gone off late afternoon, and only came on in the morning. There was a little plug in radiator which helped. I didn’t have any hot water for a shower in the morning. Apparently this was because there’d been a boiler service the day before and the engineer hadn’t restored the heat settings. I think I just got unlucky and normally this would be a good value stopover.

ideal location for dartmoor, in lovely town with attractive shops. Food was excellent with good choice of top quality local ingredients. Proprietor went out of her way to help guests in any way.

The room we had was one of two attic rooms, steps are steep and a potential hazard. Not sure being here in summer would be comfortable with restricted ventilation. being an older building , lacks air conditioning so all rooms especially dining room quite humid.

Great location with carpark, breakfast and Dinner. Just what you need after a long day. Food very nice. Bed comfortable and warm.

Thin curtains, being told on check-in that breakfast started at 8 but people being served at 7. It’s a little dated and in need of a freshening up. Very low pressure shower.

Excellent room with really comfortable bed. We stayed for 2 nights to join a family Christmas party in Bovey Tracey, so ideal location to stay. We had lovely meal on first night. Two very good breakfasts as well!!

OK for a quick stopover

The staff were friendly. The food was great. Huge selection of beers and ales on tap. Appreciated the freshly prepared hot breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Room simply furnished, but did not expect more for the price.

Most of the rooms face the parking lot behind the restaurant. This is where the really noisy kitchen extractor fan is located, running from 6am till 10pm. Also this is where the outdoor seating/smoking area is, so you can hear all the guests until the pub closes. Bathroom smelled a bit damp. Room windows did not open.

Breakfast good, easy parking, clean.

Booked double bed and was promised this at booking, but got different room number and only had single beds, so did not sleep well as feet out of end of bed. WiFi not good in room.

Ideal for cyclists on the Dartmoor route.

Ideal location for an overnight stay during a cycling holiday. The staff were helpful and friendly and we were happy with the food. Being paranoid about someone stealing our bikes, we were pleased to have access to a secure storage shed.

It was a warm night so we left the window ajar but our room was next to the smokers space and I didn't like the smoke coming in. Also, we did not enjoy listening to someone vomiting outside! Not the pub's fault but unpleasant all the same :(
