Beautiful pub in a beautiful location. Food was excellent, rooms were clean & comfortable. The staff made room for us in the bar area after our meal which was really nice. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The only downside was the parking, but I understand there is a car park nearby?? Also we were'nt told there was milk on the landing for tea & coffee so we were unable to have one.

A great place for a break all year round.

Exception food for dinner. Breakfast also very good - not excessive, modest cold cereal choice/fruit, nice hot breakfast. Very good quality ingredients.

For a solo traveller the b&b rate of £130 was quite pricey. The room was a double with space around the bed and a small en suite with a shower.

We had an enjoyable stay in a Hotel steeped in History and were made to feel very welcome.

Good choice of hot and cold Breakfasts. Had an Evening Meal with Guest that all enjoyed

My Wife would have appreciated being made aware that it was a Four-Poster Bed at the time of booking, as this would not be her preference. A comfy Bed, nonetheless. An extended selection of sachet drinks would have been appreciated, to include de-caff and hot chocolate

Cosy and perfect.

The hotel was very comfortable and well thought out. There was street parking in the village and a small hotel carpark. The restaurant food was amazing! The staff were a delight.

A beautiful Inn in a beautiful pert of the world. Very quiet and relaxing.All boxes ticked.

Fabulous Inn in a beautiful part of the country. Excellent room,plenty of space and lots of character. Staff were lovely and helpful. We had dinner on the first night which was superb.Excellent wine list ,too. Good selection of beers,craft ale as and ciders.There is a lovely garden opposite the Inn to enjoy a glass of wine or cider. A short walk from Haytor Rocks.

Very relaxing and the staff were very welcoming polite and professional.

Beautiful setting, lovely gardens, made us feel very relaxed. Property had a lot of nice snugs, lounges etc, any guest could find a quiet place, or corner with lots of character. As cottage lovers it suited us perfectly. We arrived in a rare classic car of considerable value, we were able to park under our bedroom window and leave the hood down all night.

Fantastic spot in the Moors

Small but lovely room, hot shower, comfy bed. Breakfast was fantastic and the evening meal was also very good in the restaurant. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very nice lounge also available to guests to chill out in. Location was fantastic. It was really peaceful, with a beautiful short walk down a wooded glen to the back of the Inn - so picturesque. At the top of the road - a short walk from the Inn, is the start of a fantastic walk across the moors, through historic points of interest eg foundations of medieval village, clapper bridge across a stream etc. The walk returned through a field of blue bells (month of May). It was exceptional.

Good food and Olde World charm

The building is quaint. The bed was comfortable and the room furnishings were good- with three chairs. The bar manager was particularly efficient and helpful. The food was good.

I made a mistake of booking a room on the top floor, the stairs were a bit arduous for my husband and I, although we survived. One of our bathroom walls and window surround could do with a good clean or repaint. A pet hate of mine.. the pull switch on the mirror light over the sink needed replacing _ it was dirty. Parking is a bit hit and miss.. they do have a car park behind the building but it meant steps again.

Helpful friendly staff, comfortable room and bed. Very clean throughout. Quiet location in a tucked away village. Good restaurant for evening meal and breakfast. Parking outside the property on the road.

Welcoming, comfortable with grreat food and location.

The welcome was lovely -- very friendly, professional staff during the whole stay. The room was clean, beautiful, with a great view, quiet and comfortable. We had dinner, which was excellent -- unhurried, imaginative without being gimicky, perfect tastes and combinations. Breakfast was also great with good choices. We arrived on a sunny afternoon and it was lovely to be able to sit in the beautiful garden with a drink and appreciated that they had a good range of non-alcoholic options too.
