Royal Oak Rooms

The host was welcoming and did all she could to make my stay pleasant and comfortable. She kindly allowed me to bring my dogs in the room, provided a throw for the other single bed and provided a fan due to the exceptionally hot weather. My bed was very comfortable which is important for me as I have a bad back. The ensuite shower was very good indeed.

The ensuite sink was a space saver one and sat on top of the toilet cistern. It was difficult for hand washing and teeth cleaning as i had to reach over the toilet. It also only had cold water, which was inconvenient, especially with dogs in the room as I needed to wash my hands and rinse dog food bowls… I am sure the host would have suggested a solution but I didn’t want to trouble her further as I had already had to seek her help over a missing tv remote control. (Clearly not the host’s fault as previous people staying in the room had taken the tv remote with them i think!) I was unable to open the window for ventilation as there was so safety catch or child catch limiting the opening and with the single bed directly under the window, my curious young collie would have been at a massive risk of a fall from the open window. To the host’s credit, when I mentioned this, she realised that she probably needs to install the opening limiter catches to the window.

Outside areas need a bit of TLC and stairwell area very tired

WI FI INFO MISSING - AS THERES NO FOOD SOME THROW AWAY CUTLERY AND DETAILS OF LOCAL EATERIES WOULD BE HANDY

Location was quiet and beds were comfortable and clean

The shower floor was slippy needs a mat and the room was so tiny with no storage and we did not have a loo roll .
