Good points first: bed comfortable
Good breakfast
Shower hot
But the reason this gets such a low rating is the carpet absolutely stank. I saw it was new carpet in the hallways but the room carpets desperately need replacing. I tried dousing it with body spray to no avail, but it really marred my stay. I feel for the poor student that gets this hall in term time.

Very handy location, we were attending a Pendragon weekend, so was perfect place to still next to venue on campus, couldn’t fault it
10.0 / 10.0
The only negative aspect of the stay was parking, given that you advertise free parking and the picture shows a large parking area. Otherwise a cute room with enough of what I needed for a night away. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, thank you all

Long walk to carpark if you’ve had a long journey
2.0 / 10.0
The room was far smaller than appeared in the picture, halls are dated, bathroom is not well aired and not stocked even with a bathmat. Woodwork is peeling and room is stuffy, bed is small for 2 people and parking is unnecessarily far away when campus is empty. Breakfast staff and unfriendly and militant. Won’t be using services again and this is a shame as was really looking forward to experiencing campus and being so central.

No frills room but that was as expected. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff. Parking not ideal but that may be temporary as some work going on.

It was a safe facility. The room was clean and organised with clean and fresh beddings and towels. Finding rooms was not easy.

Great option for a low cost stay within easy walking distance of the centre. Free parking- reception will provide a pass to display in your car. Good, clean rooms with tea & coffee making facilities. Towels and a small bar of soap provided, but no shampoo or shower gel. Excellent breakfast with plenty of hot and cold dishes, vegan/ vegetarian options, juices, tea and coffee. Would definitely stay again.

The buffet breakfast was excellent: there were wide choices to suit every taste. The reception staff were exceptional: we have seldom encountered such a welcoming, considerate team. They did all they could to ensure that our stay was enjoyable.
During our stay, there was extensive building work being carried out on the campus -which resulted in diversions and restricted parking spaces - but this was obviously a temporary problem.

This appears to be a dorm handling guests when there are no students.
Possibly due to construction, it was a bit of a puzzle to find the building and then to find the reception desk. There was no outside signage at the entrance that I found.
Checkin was easy.
The facility is several buildings; it was perhaps a one-minute walk across the courtyard to our building.
There are staircases but there are also lifts; it was not necessary to use the stairs.
The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. (Nothing to sit on but a desk chair, though.)
I don't believe they gave me WiFi information, but there was a fairly obvious open network that worked fine.
Parking... well, there's parking that's a one or two minute walk from the reception entrance, but if that's full (as it was on the Saturday of a bank holiday) you park in a larger lot that is about a half-mile walk from the buildings, so more like a ten to fifteen minute walk.
Breakfast was cafeteria-style, simple but good: cereal, fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, breads, baked beans, mushrooms, juices. It's served downstairs from reception, so again a minute or so walk between buildings, plus two lift rides.

Liked common areas to eat and socialise which were spacious. Did not like the closure of the dedicated nearby parking when no building was taking place. The reception staff were responsive and helpful when there were any issues. Some noise from other guests around 1pm. Excellent views and free facilities eg sports. A really enjoyable stay for 50th anniversary alumni - thank you all.

I found it a bit annoying that the window in my room could only be opened a bit. I don't understand why for security reasons windows cannot fully be opened (in what is essentially a 1st floor room)
8.0 / 10.0
Would be nice if the windows/doors would open to allow more cool air to enter during the evening/night. Gets very warm in room with no a/c.
4.0 / 10.0
The tap water gave me a horrific stomach, definitely not safe for consumption (despite no signs to the contrary) and the breakfast was mediocre at best.
Shower was inconvenient, the curtain just sticks to you because its like 60cm away from the wall.

You get what you pay for but no complaints at all. The staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Our room was basic and clean but had what we needed. Breakfast is self service . Good choice and great views across the valley. It’s a good 10 minutes walk from the train station, all up hill so a taxi may be needed if you mobility is not too good.
4.0 / 10.0
The property was poorly ventilated, hard to breathe especially in the bathroom.
the property advertised a pool on the campus yet you need to pay to enter which is not the most convient idea. The place also had a family of spiders living on the selling and spider nests aswell as black hair everywhere in the bathroom.

Reception team very friendly and helpful, breakfast was a wide variety and staff again very pleasant
My only qualm is that the hotel list as swimming pool with no note or asteroid of extra charges. It cost £7.50 for me and my son to swim.

Really comfy bed and lots of choice at breakfast

Great value and perfect because I needed accommodation while taking a 2 day course on campus. Rooms are fairly basic and not roomy - fine for a couple of nights, but just a bed, shower room and desk, and without much space. Breakfast was fine but again, nothing fancy - self service bacon, eggs, cereal.
The reception staff were all really kind and helpful - sympathetic when I arrived hot and flustered, helpful with questions about parking and the campus. A kind helpful attitude counts for a LOT.
I would definitely stay again for the price and convenience, but I wouldn't treat it as a holiday base due to the lack of space.

I wish breakfast would be available sooner than 7.30 a.m. I nearly missed my plane from Stansted yesterday!

So staff are really friendly and polite and super helpful.
We did have some spiders n cobwebs up in the corners and a questionalble stain on one wall which i removed with a wet wipe.
Towels and toilet roll is plentiful and there seems to be lots of parking too.
Nice social areas
Fabulous breakfast options too.
Easy walk downhill to the town and pubs but you'll want an uber for back up its one heck of a climb 347ft to be accurate!
Id stay again as it was a really comfy bed too.
Some signs of wear on the bathroom door and wardrobe but she was built back in the early 00s so shes doing alright as buildings go.

I really liked staying here and it is excellent value for the room and a great breakfast.

My only complaint was that there was regularly scheduled fire alarm testing which I was not informed of. Other than that it was easy and convenient.

It took 40 years but I finally made it to university!😂
The room was a standard dorm room with basic facilities. And a wonderful view from the 13th floor. And as it was after the end of the term it was very quiet and empty.
All you can eat breakfast included, so a great start to the day.

Stayed again at the venue but this time midweek the only small criticism I have is that they chose not to do filter coffee jugs at breakfast which was disappointing as was very welcome at the weekend when clearly more guests were staying. I would however suggest just keeping one jug on the go in mid-week would have been nice

Great value for money and standard and variety of the breakfast buffet was excellent.
Only a small soap bar provided so BYO toiletries!

Good couple of nights stay. Price good, clean room, fantastic view and breakfast was excellent. Staff nice and helpful. Within walking distance of the graduation ceremony 👍

This property is student accommodation and is very good value for money. It isn't, and doesn't pretend to be 4 star, but works well and has all the basics.
There weren't any lifts in the block I was in, but staff were happy to help with cases.
As it was outside term time, there were no buses on the campus, which is hilly.

I hadn't realised my stay coincided with Graduation fortnight and so on occasion I found parking hard. On the whole good value for money.

The University Accommodation was very clean and well cared for. The Staff were very polite and helpful. The room was clean and very acceptable.
You do need to bring all your own essentials as toiletries are limited to hand soap. Don’t forget a hairdryer if you need one. Breakfast was most appealing.

We chose this accommodation for convenience for our son's graduation.
It was great that we could leave the car before checking in and use a room to change in too.
The check in time was very strict, we understand probably because there are so many rooms to get ready during graduation but when it turned 3pm we were told it might take a bit longer. Just wondering if maybe more staff are needed at this time? There was only a few minutes delay in the end
The room itself was basic but clean and the bed comfortable. It was very hot but we did see we could borrow a fan if needed.
The shower wasn't really big enough for my husband's stature of 6.5 as he was unable to shower without the curtain sticking up him.
It was great to have tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. It would just have been nice to have had enough for 2 drinks each to start with. You can ask for more at reception but we hadn't realised there wasn't enough for two and reception was a walk outside away and it was raining.
In summary choosing this accommodation was convenient and reasonably priced so ideal for the one night. Staff were friendly and the breakfast plentiful and tasty with a great view to enjoy. Would definitely recommend to others looking for somewhere to stay for graduation.
