A practical location and comfortable facilities.

We stayed in a suit with kitchenette and a king-size bed. The room was very spacious, with a separate sitting area. The hotel was very quiet. There is a huge supermarket within two minutes walk from the hotel. The City Center and Main Train Station can be reached by a direct bus (about 20-25 minutes).

Nothing worth mentioning.

Modern hotel, poor service

Room size and quality; modern hotel; free drinks to make up for poor service

Poor qualität of service: there was no welcoming on arrival, but a note at the empty reception told us to check in at the Moxy hotel next door which had a long queue, as there were guests from both hotels trying to check-in. When served, we were told our room number and the breakfast time: 6.30-10.30 am. On arrival at the room, there was no sofa bed prepared, which we needed for our child (which i had mentioned clearly during the booking process). Also, there was no milk for the coffee maker in the room. So, back to reception for making a complaint where we had to queue again. Long story short: housekeeping made up the sofa, bed but never brought coffee milk. The next morning it turned out that breakfast was only until 10 a.m. during week days, so we hardly had time to eat. Dishes were taken away while we were still eating, which felt uncomfortable. Another group of guests was sent away altogether when they turned up after ten o'clock - they had also been told the wrong breakfast time at reception.

Good serviced apartment to stay in with a few caveats and mediocre clealiness

These serviced apartments had everything we needed for our stay - a functional kitchen, abundance of space and everything to literally live there. Clean bathroom, overall quite tidy. Large TV. It is a medium stroll from the train station and has a few shops around if needed. Very friendly staff on Moxy reception side. It was overall really OK.

Residence Inn by Marriott Hamburg and Moxy Hamburg are two hotels within the same building. When trying to find someone at Marriott side - there was nobody, and it was a bit confusing to check in within Moxy reception. When entering the Residence Inn by Marriott Hamburg - I was greeted by a heavy cigarette smoke smell. Throughout my stay I could see same people sitting outside near the door day by day and using the front area as a permanent smoke yard. After speaking to other people I realized that the hotel hosts Ukrainian refugees who live there on long-term basis. Something worth to note. Cleanliness was on the average scale. I don't know if it is related to the fact that some people do live there for a very long time, but bed carpets were stained, and I really didn't like the cover of the mattress. It was the worst mattress cover I've seen to be honest. It was uncomfortable to sleep on top of it because it had tiny rolled material balls due to heavy usage, which even gave an itchy feel. Plus sprinkled with hair. Smell on the ground floor was also not fresh, it actually smelled more like a communal dwelling rather than a hotel. I tried a breakfast and it was mediocre. Very primitive selection, but would do enough to just get a bite and go to a better restaurant. With just a few small tweaks I could easily give it an 8.

Room stinking of cigar smoke, great personel employed at the reception

I already put a complaint about this with No answer, as I required a refund for my first night. The room was absolutely stinking of cigarette smoke, which was an awful experience, especially arriving late after my luggage was lost, tired. Room w’s changed the next day- a waste of money to be honest the first night. On the noisy side ( noisy neighbours)

Excellent place, location and close to public transportation and eatery places.

Everything was great, especially the staff who were very friendly and able to assist with any matter. Breakfast was also very good and included a wide variety of options. The location was also fantastic as it is very close to everything including but not limited to the supermarket and public transportation. Walking distance from many eatery places!

I had requested either a King, Queen, or two twin beds together however the room was arranged with two separate twin beds. Not really a deal-breaker since I put the beds together myself, however, would've been nice if the hotel would've honored that which was requested via the reservation.

Great hotel with excellent staff!

Beautiful hotel with a great location. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff amazing. Even the parking garage was clean, well-lit and provided easy access to the hotel once you’ve parked.

The only thing we had an issue with was beyond the control of the hotel - lots of construction made it hard to at first find the hotel. Additionally, accessing the garage was not easy. I think a message about the construction with a welcome email would be helpful and a little map at checkin with directions to the garage access would have helped.

Great stay with amazing breakfast

Good location, close to the grocery shops and in a nice and quiet neighborhood. All amenities were there, nothing was missing. Little welcome pack was also a nice touch. The concierge was very friendly and doing their best to assist. Fabulous breakfast!

The ventilator above the suspended ceiling was a little bit too loud during the night and it wasn't possible to turn it off. There could be more choice of English channels in TV or a Netflix app.

We found a gem in Altona

As a celiac person, the expectations for breakfast are always low. However, the hotel provided high-quality products and even had a dedicated toaster for gluten-free bread. It might seem like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference for celiacs.

To be honest, nothing. The whole experience was nice. There's nothing that I disliked. Ok, even though they have a nice coffee machine, I wouldn't say I liked the coffee, but I guess that is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the hotel :)

A completely unacceptable experience!

We didn’t like anything at all about this place!

!DO NOT GO THERE! They basically moved all of our stuff and they went through our stuff from our current room to another random room that we didn’t know we had to move, without asking us, us being present nor even informing us - just because they overbooked the hotel!! Staff very unwilling to help, no manager present nor around to deal with the issue and overall a terrible experience we don’t recommend to anyone else and definitely not a Marriott worth hotel!

Nice modern hotel

Very friendly staff nice new hotel peaceful and quiet at night. There are lots of nice places to eat within a fifteen minute walk and it's a very convenient place to stay if you are going to a concert at Fabrik

I must start with their amazing breakfast! Great coffee (all day!), many toppings for granola, healthy options and more filling options. The rooms were very, very clean. Comfortable beds and a cozy feeling given they are hotel rooms. We appreciated the staff and their kindness!

Everything was fine, but room service didn’t refill shampoo and kitchen wipes, even though we had asked at the front desk and the information had been passed along. Also there was no cheese or charcuterie for breakfast, which was a bit odd. Otherwise breakfast breakfast was fine. The people at the desk and the kitchen staff were really friendly and helpful, especially with my kid, he’s a bit shy but felt really welcomed and warmed up to the place quickly. We loved the fact that the family rooms come with a dish washer, but two tabs or three would have been nice (we only got one).

Great for a stopover on the way to Denmark. Nice interior, comfortable beds. Spacious rooms. Fully equipped kitchen.

No diner possibilities apart from the Moxy next door (of which the food wasn’t great, regardless on all efforts from the very friendly staff). Entry to parking very small (and we couldn’t find it immediately, on the left (back) side of the entrance.

Room was cold. Heating was not working properly. I had reported several times in my e night stay, but no one came to take a look at the issue. Besides this issue, everything was fine.
