We stayed at Hotel Himmelrich in Lucerne and had a wonderful experience. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature with a breathtaking lake view — perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from daily life.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff was always kind, helpful, and professional, making us feel welcome from the very first moment. Breakfast was also excellent, with a good variety and high quality.
Overall, a truly positive experience in every way.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, beautiful scenery, and comfort. We will definitely come back!

Amazing place for vacation! Super nice location (only if you are with the car), always available parking, rooms are great, cleaning every day, the view is exceptional 🤩 spa is also super nice!
In our first room was broken toilet - water was flushing outside the toilet :))) but the staff was super friendly and helpful, we got free upgrade for a bigger better room with working toilet :)
Also I wouldn’t recommend to take mountain view - all views from the hotel are great but mountain view means just one mountain in front of you (see second picture that I attached), and other view is for the city which is even better we think.

We had an excellent stay! The staff were very helpful and accommodated all our requests, especially a staff named Mayo. Breakfast was great with a live egg-counter and they served fabulous omelettes. The sauna facilities were clean and wonderful.
Great hiking options around the hotel with incredible views of the Alps. It snowed quite heavily while we were there which made the whole experience so much more special. Was like a winter wonderland.
We would definitely visit again!
This hotel is only accessible by car or taxi, so wouldn't recommend it if you only plan to use public transport.
If you are vegetarian or vegan the breakfast may not have too many options for you.

Loved the breakfast seating area and the staff.

We spent 4 days and 3 nights there, and I must say the experience was positive. Most of the service crew were fantastic. I want to emphasize that the staff truly represented the hotel service , whether it was one person or the entire team.
I apologize, but in addition to mentioning that most of the crew members were great, I want to highlight a specific incident we experienced. There were four of us dining at the restaurant when a waitress noticed us but continued to chat instead of attending to us. We waited for a while without having our table set or receiving menus. Later, we even saw her sitting with another customer, engaged in conversation.
Maybe due to low season , breakfast choices were very very limited. Not worth the money for that.

Breakfast was Okey but not at all special, the coffee was not great , the location was great , so were the beds.
There was no heating in the room airco didn’t work properly, we were Here in november
The beds were good and the view was great. BUT. The central heating did not work, in all the rooms we heard from the receptionist, and at breakfast the so-called “Winter Garten” was heated by a heat blower that made a lot of noise. The airco to heat the room had insufficiënt capaciteit. Bath robes were moist - we did not use them. One of the bed lights had a broken light bulk. In the shower one of the shampoo bottles was hanging loose. At dinner it appeared that the food was pre-cooked and overpriced. We paid 198 euro without breakfast for a room with for two persons and then we would expect all it to be at least with working heating its totally overprices and onacceptabele . Overall the hotel seemed under staffed. Very depressing. How it got a hospitality award in 2023 is a big mystery to us. Oké.

Hotel views are excellent.
Incredibly disappointed with our stay here while visiting Lucern for a family trip for our five year old's birthday.
We just checked out. We booked two double rooms, including requesting to have a child's put up bed which is offered as a service.
When we arrived the put up bed was in neither. Also one of the rooms was much smaller than the other double, as there's a significant obstruction and wall pillar which means there is no bedside table or walkway on a side of the bed which is in effect pushed up against a wall. In othet hotels it would be classified as a 'cosy' room because of this. No big deal.
We had to go to the city, so messaged on the booking.com App and emailed about my concerns. No response. Then when we returned I went down to reception.
The response from the staff was a disgrace. One staff member on her own tutted loudly when called to speak to me. She didnt say hello, or what was the concern. She just stared at me. I outlined the issues. She continued to stare. No response. A good 30 seconds. Then just yawned and said. 'Thats the configuration'. Then stared me out.
Any normal hotel would have said. 'Hi sir, how can I help' on hearing the issue said. 'Sure, lets get your child bed sorted.' Or 'Really sorry it's not an ideal room. But we are full.'
Honestly. It was completely utterly bizarre. The most rude service interaction I have ever experienced. Shame on the hotel for treating people like this. The hotel manager the next mornin said it was going to be that staff members last few days and they should have changed the room. But this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel?

The views from our room over Luzern and the countryside were breathtaking! Once outside the hotel there were stunning views of the snow-capped mountains. The cattle bells as they grazed were also clearly audible.
We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was very nice.
The rooms were a bit compact. The location was incredible for views but a long way from the town and only accessible by Taxi (around $50 AUD) or a 20 minute walk down (up) hills to nearest bus stop. A bit isolated.

Lovely hotel ,up in the mountains, staff were very friendly and accommodating, views wet amazing over Lucerne.Food was really fresh and cooked from scratch.
When we there it wasn’t very busy, which is not there fault, which lost the atmosphere of the stunning building and facilities.I hope for them it was a few quiet days, love to go back in winter, support it as you won’t be disappointed.

The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a balcony overlooking Lucerne, and the view was stunning. The reception staff were warm, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was spotless, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable, perfect for a relaxing and memorable stay
Unfortunately, our experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. We were served by a waitress who came across as unfriendly and dismissive, which made us feel quite unwelcome. While we understand that the restaurant is operated by a separate company, it is still part of the overall guest experience at your hotel, and we believe it’s important that all areas reflect the same level of hospitality.
As the restaurant was the only dining option on-site without returning to town, we had hoped for a more enjoyable experience. On one evening, we requested to sit at a table with a view but were told those tables were reserved. However, they remained empty throughout our entire meal. Additionally, our food was served before we received our drinks and bread, and when we inquired about them, the response lacked any apology or courtesy.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident. On both occasions we dined there, the service negatively impacted what should have been a pleasant evening for my husband and me. It’s a shame, as the setting has great potential, but the atmosphere was ultimately let down by the service.

Location. Staff. Spa massage
The restaurant closed on the Monday with no indication on the booking that this was the case. The last thing we wanted to do was drive and find a town etc.

The deco and furnishing was nice.
Not the best I’ve stayed at, the staff was very rude when he asked me if I’d like coffee and I replied I’d like some tea and he responded it’s right over there you can help yourself and walked off whilst my hands where full carrying my plate back to the table.. No water bottles available in the room, as if £400 a night wasn’t enough, they charged £10 for a bottle of water. No help with the luggage being to and from the room. We asked for an iron which they should’ve had 1 in the room being a 4star. The same rude individual said all the irons are out, we asked for a universal charger and replied they are also all out, like if you’re charging silly prices for your rooms and spending so much on the deco, spend less on the deco and put an iron in each room for convenience. Absolute joke this place, I will definitely not be coming back to this place and wouldn’t recommend. There are better hotels out there, Five being 1one of them…

The location is beautiful with a breathtaking view over pretty much the whole of Lucerne. The spa section has baths with stunning views where it was perfect to enjoy a glass of prosecco and admire the views.

Beautiful room!! Beautiful scenery and a lovely check in with a welcome drink.
I think Switzerland is generally accepted as being a very expensive place to eat out but at £30ish each for pizza and pasta dish (the latter was not great and both were substantially less expensive than the meat and fish offerings), I was a bit disappointed with the quality. The view was incredible though.

My recent stay at Boutique Hotel Himmelrich was a delightful experience.. Nestled on a hillside above Lucerne, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains—truly a postcard-perfect setting.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending modern elegance with cozy, boutique charm. My room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and featured large windows that let in plenty of natural light. The balcony was the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the scenery. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the room amenities were thoughtful and high-quality.
The breakfast buffet was fresh and varied, with local specialties and excellent coffee. I also enjoyed drinks on the terrace where stunning sunset views made for an unforgettable evening.
The location is peaceful and serene, yet just a short drive from Lucerne’s city centre and major attractions. It’s an ideal base for both relaxation and sightseeing.
We booked this scenic hotel in the hills specifically for the terrace, for dining and drinking etc. But on the Saturday we arrived, they had a Wedding party in the evening on the terrace, so it was unavailable for the whole evening and night, with loud music until around midnight. Now I know that hotels host weddings, but normally they are in function rooms that are not part of the main guest facilities. To stay at a secluded hotel, and have the main facility unavailable was pretty disappointing, especially when charging the full room rate, and without disclosing this limitation. As it adds a significant restriction on the guests in such as small boutique hotel. I believe that this is something that the management should disclose for small boutique hotels.
The hotel unfortunately double charged me, and even though they reimbursed me as soon as they were informed, as well as everyone knows, if you get reimbursed on a foreign credit card, you will still end up footing part of the bill for the transaction fee or difference in exchange rate at the time, so can cost you 1 or 2 % of the transaction, which for hotels in Switzerland can be the price of a drink or two. So a loss.
No iron & ironing board in the room, which seems to be standard in Switzerland, even for 4 and 5 start hotels.

Positives: Best view, nice staff, room are good.
Too improve: breakfast could be better, it was painted recently and the smell of paint was strong, and one of the rooms without curtains.

Beautiful house in a stunning location on top of a hill. Excellent restaurant with very good Italian food.
A bit isolated and a narrow road up - not really a problem as we only stayed one night. Rooms quite small but well appointed.

The room we booked had a very small shower. The cleanning was done superficially and the bed sheets were wrinkled. Toilet paper has not been renewed from the previous visitor.
