3rd Floor , no elevator and very narrow steps and this was not mentioned of highlighted in the facility so we booked not knowing causing hardship .

Old and unsafe stairs in the hallway. Clogged sink and shower.

The transportation was very convenient, the location was extremely central, the property was clean, and the host was very attentive and helpful

The only real highlight of this apartment is its fantastic location: literally steps from Antwerp Central Station and within walking distance of the city center. It’s very convenient for transport, sightseeing, and access to shops and restaurants. The apartment is also reasonably spacious for 4 people (1 large bed + double sofa bed), with high ceilings and a decent bathroom size. The host left a booklet with tips and info on Antwerpen; the WiFi works; the shower is ample and has enough pressure. Communication with the host (Sam) via WhatsApp was straightforward, and the keyless entry system worked well (you only get 1 key, though - it would be so much more convenient to have 2). Beyond that, it’s very basic. The kitchen is minimally equipped (kettle, capsule machine with no capsules, microwave, limited utensils) and only suitable for simple meals.

The overall condition of the apartment was honestly quite disappointing and felt very neglected :( For the price, the lack of maintenance and poor cleaning really don’t feel acceptable (the images are obviously from a long time ago when all was brand new). It’s a shame, because with a bit of care and relatively small fixes, this place could be so much better. Entrance: dark, dirty, and clearly run-down, with broken tiles, patchy repairs, and damaged stairs. It gives a really poor (and slightly unsafe) first impression. Condition: a lot of the furniture is visibly worn or damaged. The kitchen counter is in bad shape with missing bits, the kettle is full of limescale, and the bathroom feels poorly maintained. The blinds don’t work properly, two lamps had no bulbs, and the towels were old and worn. Cleaning: definitely not up to standard. The cushions and sofa were dirty, and when we folded the sofa bed back in, there were crumbs, chips, dirt, and even a toy car from a previous guest underneath that the cleaner obviously had not seen because they didn't even fold it in to clean. There isn't a broom, so we had to clean it ourselves by hand. The sofa and cushions also didn’t look clean and the tv remote was sticky. Heat and ventilation: the apartment gets extremely hot. We stayed during a heatwave, so that part was to be expected and not the host’s fault, but there wasn’t even a small fan to help. Opening the windows brings noise, smells, mosquitoes, and not a lot of ventilation because the blinds are broken and don't roll up, so it becomes quite uncomfortable in warm weather. Overall, despite the amazing location, the poor upkeep really impacts the experience and makes it hard to justify the price. If you’re at all sensitive about cleanliness, this probably isn’t the right place for you. If you care mainly about location, then it's an ok place to use as base and explore the city.
