They need to change the bed
Location , and the staff were so friendly and helpful
The bed was really bad

Ok
The hotel and the breakfast were nice, everything was clean. Nice the concept of accessibility.
It's not ideal for young couples. They could reserve rooms with regular beds or advertise it more clearly. Despite being a double bed, there is a gap between the mattresses in the middle and it's not very comfortable. It feels like a hospital bed.

Comfortable, good breakfast, value for money
The room was big and had comfy clean beds. Loved the breakfast buffet. Simple but good. Good vfm for the area.
Minor issues for our 1-night stay. The shower is built in a way that allows water to get to the bathroom floor. Our bathroom had no window to allow the humidity to air out. Also our room had a door connecting it with the next room. They were locked, but some noise was getting through from the neighbors.

Comfortable.
The room was very well equipped with coffee machine, hair dryer, tv, and very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was rich with healthy options. The personnel was very helpful.
Nothing. But, it is located in a green and quite area outside the city center. It only takes 10 minutes to the center by tram which is nearby. If you need a a central location this is good to know.

Would not stay again
Room size was ok, hotel reasonably clean, parking is available although not for free, breakfast was ok.
Where do I start... When we arrived there was no soap to wash hands in a room, reception made me explain why I needed it when there is a perfectly good washing up liquid in a shower before actually giving me a bar of soap that should have been there in the first place. This was done in a manner that felt like interrogation with very little friendliness. The room itself whilst ok space wise was a designer exercise in most useless design features. The sink in the bathroom was too small but with full size tap that was sticking out almost out side of the sink making it impossible to use without splashing water everywhere. The more useful sink for some odd reason was in the room outside of the bathroom making it very inconvenient for family members to use. Bathroom door is made of matte glass which may be looking cool from design prospective but facing the room makes it impossible to use discreetly during the night without waking everyone up with the massive lit rectangle. The rrom does not have an air con and gets very hot even in mild autumn days. And when it is hot, the designer bed lights made up with tungsten halogen lamps with deep metal reflectors makes you feel like sauna in a few minutes when turning them on (needless to say the rest of the lights are LED). Sockets are randomly placed with locations next to entry doors and awkward places that again betray weird design intent with no real use purpouse. Beds wer uncomfortably hard. Basically we were glad when our stay was over.

A wonderful snapshot into fully accessible, barrier-free society.
Myself and my companion are both disabled, using a rollator and cane respectively, and I was really excited to discover this hotel whilst looking for accessible accomodation in Mainz. At the time of booking there were no fully accessible rooms available, but I requested a chair that we could use in the shower and the hotel promptly responded to confirm. Not only this, but a week before travelling I received a message to let us know an accessible room had become available and we'd been moved there free of charge! As a result, we were able to stay in a room with a fully accessible shower and toilet, wide doors and enough space to move around in that I did not need to fold up my rollator at all. The hotel was a wonderful environment to be in as a disabled person; for once, I felt that the building I was in had been designed with me in mind. Seeing disabled staff and hotel guests as well as posters and events campaigning for accessibility heightened this feeling. Facilities at the hotel covered all of our needs, staff were friendly and helpful (e.g. carrying an ironing board up to the room), and the breakfast was delicious - especially the range of breads and pastries! We also had the dilemma of a very early arrival before check-in and a very late pick-up after checking out, a gap of 4-6 hours' time. We were able to leave our luggage at reception to collect later, which was a huge help! Thank you to all of the staff at Hotel INNdependence for all of your help to create a barrier-free stay for us 😊
Ironically, the sensor in the ground/KG floor accessible toilet was motion activated but placed quite high up on the wall. I visited this toilet during breakfast and was waving my arms around every 40 seconds when the lights turned off - but I had to stretch up quite high to trigger the sensor! This was only a minor issue (and a very silly mental image), and did not affect my positive experience of the hotel as a whole.
