The only drawback (?): it is an old building so you may have to walk up a lot of stairs. :) build in gym!

Not very happy with the accommodations at all.

It was an interesting building

The building was tired and scruffy looking. The interior was old fashioned and grubby. Our room was very small sparse. The shower was terrible, couldn’t set, either cold or very hot and not enough pressure to wash off the soap.

We had a pleasant, comfortable one night stay.

The location of the Hotel is excellent, within walking distance of the old city and the tourist sites. It is a historic hotel, so it is an old building. The reception area and dining room/lounge are quaint and half-timbered and you feel as if you have entered a museum! The breakfast for which we paid extra was adequate, but not exceptional. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean.

There is no lift to the rooms on the upper floors so it is a bit of a struggle lugging heavy luggage up the spiral staircase, however, the receptionist did offer to help us. The rooms are small.

Wonderful two-nights stay

Perfect place to stay

The location was perfect, good for the city and good for the train station. The breakfast buffet was substantial and comprehensive. The staff were courteous. There is no parking on site; this was expected, but it is something to be aware of. In any event, the nearest public car park is very near and the staff sorted out the car park payments without fuss.

Our room was much smaller than anticipated. The door to the bathroom would not stay closed.

2* hotel in an old building, rather dated, but met our expectations.

Really pleased that we had a quiet room as requested - no traffic noise or disturbances at all, room 10 was perfect for a good night's sleep! Beautifully clean bedlinen and towels, comfortable bed, small but fully functional bathroom, standards as expected from a 2* hotel. Well situated within easy walking distance of bars, shops and restaurants in the Old Town area of Rouen.

Spiral staircase to upper floors wasn't a problem for us, but could be difficult for some people to use. Kettle, mugs and camomile tea was provided in our room, we asked for coffee sachets which were immediately offered. Had we booked directly with the hotel instead of via Booking.com, breakfast would have been included and would have been better value for money overall, given the price we paid for the room. We chose to have breakfast in a local cafe instead, although it was available in the hotel for an extra 11 euros per person.

very good breakfast,big amount sugar,bread,cheese,eggs,fruits and baverage,etc. The building is over hundreds years while the rooms are very clean and refubished very well. We were earlier and told a only smaller room was ready ,then we have taken a look and decided to wait for a bit for another larger room. The staffs offer us coffee and tea in the lunge and it was a pleasant experience to stay in a family feeling hotel like this. the hotel located in a fantastic place in the city of Rouen,only 5 mins walk to the Train Stasion,and 1 min walk to the Meseum,8 mins walk to the Cathedral,very safe and quiet.

Not As Advertised!

Location. Friendly, helpful receptionist. Bed was OK.

No lift - I was on the third floor. 52 steps with luggage. Light switches next to the bed didn't work. No hot water at 8am or 9am! Window wouldn't open. Very basic breakfast. Details suggested parking - this turned out to be a pay car park 200m away, with which the hotel has a special deal. Details suggested restaurant - there is no restaurant on site though the receptionist recommended one 5 minutes walk away.

Warm and Inviting Welcome to Rouen

Hotel Morand is beautifully situated, neighboring the Musee des Beaux Arts, and within an easy walking distance of the principal attractions of Rouen. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating (they even offered to carry my luggage upstairs) and were very patient with my limited French. I enjoyed a complimentary breakfast every morning in their beautiful and cozy dining room. This place is an incredible value and will allow you to experience the best of Rouen even if your time is limited. It is also not far from the Rouen Rive Droite station. The location, price, and service make this hotel a gem you do not want to miss.

We didn't have too walk far to find a bar/restaurant. The scenery is beautiful especially the church and the museum. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly.

The hotel was a bit difficult to find as the sat nav isn't updated. In the end we parked the car about three streets away and walked to the hotel. I know it is difficult, however the hotel, I think, need to look at providing some sort of parking. Our room was on the third floor. As there is no lift, it kept us fit! Also I asked one of the hotel staff the password for WiFi. When I put the WiFi password in it stated it may have already been used or was the wrong password and to ask the manager. In saying all that, we only stayed one night as we was travelling the following day. If it was longer, I would have booked an alternative hotel. Finally, which IS NOT the hotel's fault, there are road works going on near the hotel. We had to go another route as a car had parked too near a hole in the road. We could not get past the car, otherwise our car would have fallen into the hole! There were barriers around the hole in the road, however most of these had been knocked into the hole!

The hotel is very close to the train station and the city-centre, like ~8minutes of walk. The room and bathroom are clean. I was able to open the window in the room.

The room floor isn't straight and I felt there is height difference in different parts of the room. Minor issue! I wish bathroom door had a handle to stop the door going too deep into the wall while opening, and in general for more comfortable usage. !!! The stairs are curvy, narrow with soft uneven steps. Please keep that in mind if your luggage is heavy, or you have motion/strength issues. !!!

bed was comfortable the room was clean.

there was no lift and the spiral stairs are very steep they are having a referb and the communal areas are a mess. and the car park is a public car park two stories under the nearby park with no lift so we had to carry our luggage up 5 floors in total and across quite a distance. none of which was made clear on the information. and the sockets didn’t work in our room. so as reception was closed I had to hunt down the fuse board in the corridor and switch them on😖🙄
