JAPA Suites & Villas

Room was very spacious and bright. I loved the comfy bed with snow white bed sheets. Also there was wonderful huge bathroom with a bathtub, shower and 2 sinks. Overall stay was very peaceful and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also there were 2 swimming pools Room service was very quick. Was perfect for stay in day after active days.

The few things to improve, there was a cockroach in my bathroom first day I checked in. I’ve addressed it to hotel staff and they fixed it immediately. And last thing when I was checking out, the receptionist had a bit an attitude. I asked assistance with my bags to my next hotel it was 2 min walk, literally next door. But the receptionist straight a way said that it is impossible. Then I have to insist and explain that I really need help and it 2 min. I felt like he didn’t want to help. It was an only negative episode with staff interaction otherwise the rest of the staff was super helpful and nice.

The villa (the hotel complex) is quite conveniently located, a 10-minute walk from the Monkey Forest and 20 minutes from the "center" of UBUD. Ubud is a very noisy and polluted city, so the good thing about this accommodation is that it's quiet (set back from the road). The villa itself is well furnished.

Cleanliness. The room was not very clean (mold on the shower seals), daily cleaning limited (towels are not replaced even when put on the floor). Breakfast not very good or copious. Room service is limited (7PM maximum) and badly done (if you order two identical teas, you only get one tea pot, even though you're paying for two). What's more, the staff don't come back to collect plates and cutlery, so they pile up. The Villa's orientation means that the deckchairs are in the shade from 11am, so it's hard to get a tan at home... Cool pool.

the hotel is beautifully landscaped and very inviting Balinese atmosphere. Deluxe suite double bedroom we stayed is a spacious and clean. Their breakfast was exceptional. The staff is very kind and friendly.

our room was beside one of outdoor pools. it can be little noisy from early morning especially young children stays. You may find tiny ants in the bathroom, but you will get used to it.

coffee is very good, but served in a small cup. asked for a second cup of coffee and I was told it would be charged to my room 😅

The property is old , the restaurant closes very early in the evening. I also believe the bed wasnt as comfortable maybe others opinion may differ. Also no mirror in the room just one in the wash area that too with limited lighting

For me it was perfect, I planned to visit a lot of temples so Ubud it was at center and I was able to plan the day easily departing from the hotel. The SPA is amazing, loved the massage. And plus 2 swimming pools to relax when back to the hotel. They have plney of good restaurants around so you can decide it, and it is 20 minutes walking to the Ubud market.

it’s a combination of a villa and hotel in one, it’s peaceful as a villas but still get exceptional service from the staff. its not crowed. in a great location too, most amenities were walking distance

Bathrooms could use a deep clean, nothing too bad but just a bit of soap scum here and there

I’ve been coming to Ubud for many years and have never stayed somewhere twice but I’ve finally found ‘my place ‘ After a major renovation and name change during lockdown I discovered Japa Suites and I’m so so glad I did There’s been great attention to detail when designing the rooms and everything works beautifully The spectacular gardens are calming and the pool setting is just beautiful with lots of lazing options Sadly I didn’t get to eat at the restaurant so I’m waiting for next time. The spa is stunning …..I took a package of a massage scrub and flower bath …….it was one of the best massages I’ve ever received. Very well priced compared with other spas too Now the staff ……….they are the heart of the hotel They made the whole stay ‘beautiful ‘from the afternoon delivery of little ‘nighttime sweets’ to help sleep to the attentive housekeeping staff and talented gardeners On halloween I was delivered handmade monster marshmallows made with matcha chocolate coating ! Amazing The gifts and kindness of reception staff were also phenomenal….the departure gift left me almost in tears I was as grateful to stay with them as they were to have guests back again So I suppose this is now my absolute favourite place to stay and I cannot wait to return to Japa It far exceeded

That the rest of my holiday accommodation wasn’t the same as Japa

We absolutely loved our stay at Japa! The room was really spacious and nice. Be sure to book a massage because we went to 3 different spa places and the one at Japa was the best! The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars, yet it feels like a quiet oasis.

Some spray for the ants would be good (common problem in Ubud)

great location, walking distance to great cafes, such as piston, bakery next door selling amazing Japanese cheese cake, suka espresso. Easy walk to monkey forest, about 1/2 walk to ubud palace.

stayed in 2 bedroom pool villa, one bedroom in ground floor adjacent pool & second bedroom on second floor. was fine for us having older children but nay not suit someone with younger kids, pool was good size, lots of sun, frangipani trees all around.

Super friendly, even had a letter and present from the staff after the stay. Food was amazing. Service was lovely - felt like a family. Pool was gorgeous, we felt like VIPs. Location was perfect - central to everything we needed. We did get a bike to get to the farther activities.

We couldn’t fault them - thank you so much Japa ❤️

Wonderful location at the heart of Ubud. But inside the hotel is secluded and very peaceful and calm. Staff is very friendly and nice. Rooms are very clean and everything is in perfect condition. Would gladly stay again.
