disappointing stay

location is fine

no elevator, had climb up and down, very inconvenient for disabled and elderly. Sound proof was bad, can easily hear neighbor showering... Breakfast was disappointing

luxury oasis in the heart of Ubud

EVERYTHING was exceptional. loved staff rooms, restaurant on site cafe is my favourite in Ubud. we have come to bali twice and when we come back we will stay at this same property. it’s the best retreat and the rooms were so beautiful. most comfortable bed and excellent rain shower. we came for my birthday and they gave us a room upgrade free of charge, love this place so much.

Alya is a good option if you’re looking for a more traditional resort-style stay in Ubud. The property is well maintained and comfortable and overall it’s a solid choice for a relaxing, generic resort experience.

An elegant, peaceful retreat with an amazing breakfast and perfect location.

I was blown away by the intentionality behind everything at Alaya Resort Ubud, from the beautiful decor and layout to the serene environment overlooking the rice paddies. The à la carte breakfast menu was incredible, and the complimentary mini-bar was a lovely touch alongside the excellent room service. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the Monkey Forest and right next door to the fantastic Pison Cafe. We also loved the free activities, especially the herbal tea and body scrub classes!

- Room Access: The room door was occasionally temperamental and required a few attempts to unlock. • Pest Control: We had some issues with mosquitoes in the room after opening the balcony, so a bit more preventative measures (or just a warning for guests!) would be helpful. • Family Amenities: The hotel is very peaceful, but lacks a kids' club or play area, so it might not be the most engaging option for families with younger children on longer stays.

An ideal blend of comfort, location, and calm in central Ubud.

Alaya has truly become a home away from home whenever I’m in Ubud. It’s the perfect choice if you want to be right in the heart of the action while still enjoying peace and relaxation. Despite its central location, the resort feels spacious and serene, whether you’re unwinding on the grounds or in the comfort of your room. Being right next to the beautiful Yoga Barn, combined with the comfortable rooms and genuinely courteous staff, creates the ideal balance between solitude and staying connected to everything happening in Ubud’s city center.

Wonderful 5 star hotel in Central Ubud

I absolutely loved my stay at Alaya Resort, I had frequented the amazing spa over the years I've visited Ubud and this time I stayed at the hotel itself during the last part of my trip in Central Ubud, as a treat. It was well worth it and I would highly recommend you do the same! The staff are wonderful and the spa staff as I already knew are amazingly skilled, it was fantastic to spend a little time with Dedi, I look forward to reconnecting in the near future. Look no further than this 5 star hotel for your Central Ubud stay!

Fantastic location and wonderful facilities! The spa is amazing, the pool and gym are lovely, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The restaurant was great as well!

Room service was a bit inconsistent in how the room was arranged — different staff placed items and towels in varying ways. Not a major issue at all, just something to note.

Tranquil forest getaway in the heart of Ubud

The most beautiful hotel in Ubud. In prime location but hidden like you are staying in a rainforest. The rooms are stunning. I am definitely coming back.

Alaya truly made my first time in Bali a memorable one.

The property itself is beautiful. The rice terrace they have, along with the two tea houses really make it stand out. I loved waking up early wand watching the sky get brighter from the wooden walkway, while I waited for my driver. I didn’t use the pool, only because I was so busy doing other things and never had time. I didn’t use try the spa which was incredibly relaxing, professional, and welcoming.

Truthfully, there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like.

Perfect

Everything, the staff was amazing and very helpful, the room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the resort was a convenient walk to the monkey forest, which was one of the main attractions I wanted to see in Ubud. I stayed at a few hotels and resorts during my stay in Bali, but this was hands down my favorite. They also gave me a free room upgrade and birthday cake on arrival which made my stay feel all the more special, I would love to stay at Alaya again if I’m ever visiting Bali.

Just perfect for our stay in Ubud

Alaya Resort was just beautiful, from the moment we walked in with a lovely welcome until the moment we left. Everywhere was exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfortable, the pool area was great, and the breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. It was in a great location for walking to the shops and restaurants.

Loved it, had an amazing time

Loved the place. The room was great, very very clean. Location is amazing and very comfortable to get around. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. We booked a day tour from the hotel and it was amazing. All the facilities are good - for example we used the laundry service and were very satisfied.

Breakfast was not very good and could be improved.

Great stay in Ubud

Conveniently located in the heart of Ubud, rooms are very comfortable and super clean, the staff will go beyond their normal routine to make sure you have a great stay and experience overall

Breakfast didn’t have a great variety compared to other hotels of the same range and didn’t live up to my expectations, but this is a personal view that should not be a deterrent. Traffic in the area is a lot worse than anyone would expect, so avoid coming in/out of the hotel during peak hours, meaning leaving the establishment before 07:00 and returning after 22:00

The resort was lovely and the room very comfortable. The turn down service was an extra special touch. The restaurant on-site was delicious and the service was absolutely amazing- especially Agung... He looked after us very well for service and also offered some great things to do in Ubud.

Fine hotel

The room is nice and spacious and the staff is very kind and helpful. It is located very well and within walking distance from attractions.

The bedding was not very good. The pillows are much too big and I had back pain throughout my whole stay because of the pillows. Would be nice to get different options of pillows. The breakfast was also not that impressive for a 5 star place.

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Everything felt calm and peaceful, especially in wing 3 where our room looked out over the forest. I honestly can’t describe how beautiful that view was. The whole place has a quiet, relaxing vibe that made it really easy to unwind.

Alaya Resort - Hands Down Our Favorite Hotel in Bali

Our family of five (two adults and three teenagers) recently stayed at Alaya Resort, and it ended up being our favorite hotel in Bali (for reference we also stayed at Courtyard Seminyak and Hyatt Regency Sanur also great stays). We were looking for something that offered the feel of a villa with the convenience of a hotel—full staff, gym, and a central location—and Alaya delivered on all fronts. The rooms were uniquely designed, and ours overlooked the pool with a great view of the surrounding rainforest. We had two adjoining rooms—one with a king bed and the other with two twins, plus an extra bed added for our third child—which worked perfectly for our family. Service was consistently friendly and welcoming, and the hotel restaurant was excellent. For the quality and location, the value for money was outstanding. Our only regret was not staying longer. The location was another plus - just a short walk to the Monkey Forest and surrounded by some of our favorite restaurants in Ubud. We didn’t opt for the included breakfast, but it was easy to grab a bite at one of the nearby spots or downstairs at the hotel. Also next door to a nice convenience store (Coco Mart) so easy to grab snacks, money from ATM, etc).

The Alaya Resort staff is truly amazing!

Review Alaya We stayed at the Alaya Resort to start off our 3 week vacation in Indonesia. And our experience with them couldn't have impressed us more. The whole team is so pleased to serve our every needs and requests and made our stay so warm, and welcoming. Besides the gorgeous property and sightings, the location is perfect with everything you would need. The supermarket is around the corner with an ATM for international creditcards, souvernirshops at walking distance and great facilities in and around the resort. The spa was amazing! The massagetherapists were very knowledgable and very skilled. We looked forward to breakfast every morning, as they daily added different things to their menu. The staff is kind, engaging and their costumer service is on point every time, even with our special requests regarding the birthday of my sister. You do have to consider that the traffic is jammed at almost every hour of the day so traveling by car will take longer than expected. We loved it here, and we hope to visit again someday!

There is nothing we did not like! We honestly liked everything about Alaya Resort and will recommend this resort to everyone who will travel to Ubud! The hotels and resorts in Europe can really learn a lot from your hospitality!

A very nice holiday

All staff were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was great.

Although breakfast was good, the other meals in the main restaurant were mediocre, and eating at the adjoining Pison restaurant meant long waits.
