Excellent stay in one of the Swiss historic hotels!! A culinary delight!

Old monastery converted in historic hotel, with simple, but comfortable rooms, with lots of character. The food is excellent, staff are very attentive and nice. Great location, even for winter sports.

Worth the stay

I loved the place of stay and managed with food. Also, since I am a pure vegetarian, on every items which I have, require to ask and eat.

Food could had been better with some vegetarian sandwitches without eggs and vegetables and seasonal fruits.

Great, relaxing sleep.

I had the best sleep among all places I‘ve ever been to. Welcome drink was nice, I was glad to receive something tasty and non-alcoholic.

It was a bit hard to find the reception and the food was not extraordinary despite its high price. Don‘t get me wrong, it was fine, I just expected something special after reading the name and the price tag.

Expensive for what it is

Comfy bed, breakfast with local ingredients. Got some apple juice in the room. As no one was at the reception after 3pm, we got our key in the letterbox, good explanations. Good location if you have a car.

Quite expensive for such basic room. No kettle, no coffee, no decoration, etc. If you have a light sleep, this might not be a hotel for you. My friend was awake at 7am because you could hear everything's happening outside.

Great Getaway

Location: just minutes away from Luzern by car. Culinarium is located in a wonderful small town surrounded by nature, mountains & fresh air. Restaurant: Try the surprise menu for a culinary experience. The menus were only in German, but that wasn't an issue as some spoke English. Breakfast was basic but plentiful: with breads, jams, cheese & eggs at your disposal. Room: Scandinavian chic comes to mind. Decor is simple but works well as the natural outdoor scenery shines bright.

My only issue was the bed, it was uncomfortable & the pillows flattened so much that it felt as if there was no pillow. Other than that, everything was great.

Innovative and unique

The staff - everyone went out of their way to accommodate us and our two excitable puppies. We weren't the easiest guests! The food - delicious, fresh and invenitve. The rooms - simplicity itself, but very comfortable indeed.

Amazing historical stay!

Amazing boutique/agrotourismus hotel! This 300 old monastery was renovated to am amazing hotel. Decoration combines history with modern elements with harmony. The rooms are really practical and the food/drink quality is awesome. You will be amazed by the facilities and the old elements. Staff was super friendly and professional. There is also a nice shop with amazing local products. Parking for free within the hotel facility.

Exceptional

No superficial stuff, and yet everything what you need. Very straight but lovely decoration with a lot of wood. Very helpful staff and excellent food. You just feel good.

The soundproofing between the rooms could be improved.. but during our stay, the other guests were very calm so that it didn’t have negative consequences.

Superb

I loved our stay at the Culinarium Alpinum. The room was spacious and cozy, the style and furniture were really cool. The design of the hotel is fascinating, has a lot of history, with a mix of renovated spaces that respect the old structure of the complex. We had dinner at the hotel as well. The food was amazing, creative but at the same time rediscovering some local traditions and with ingredients from local producers. We'd like to come back in Summer to visit again, we really enjoyed.

Toller Aufenthalt in geschichtsträchtigem Gemäuer. Freundliches u hilfsbereites Personal. Zimmer sind mit allem ausgestattet was es benötigt, sanft und authentisch renoviert. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet mit vielen lokalen und regionalen Produkten. Und angelehnt an das ursprüngliche Klosterfrühstück.

Eine Nacht in Stans

Ein sehr schönes altes Gebäude dass mit Liebe renoviert wurde. Sehr schöne Zimmer mit Fernglas. Einen Fernseher gibt es nicht aber ein toller Blick in die Berge. Sehr leckeres Frühstück und das Spiegelei wurde frisch zubereitet. Kommen gerne wieder.

Da es ein älteres Haus ist sind Schritte und Stimmen von der oberen Etage zu hören. Bei Rücksicht auf andere Hotelgäste ist es aber kein Problem.

Ruhig und dennoch in 5 Minuten in der Innenstadt mit sehr gutem Restaurant.

Frühstück war an beiden Tagen sehr gut. Sonntags nochmal üppiger. Rührei usw. werden frisch zubereitet, individuell für den Gast. Das war aus frischem Ei und wie ich es mag, eher trocken wie schlonzig. Auswahl beim Frühstück super und ich mag es, wenn der Kaffee/Tee auch serviert wird. Abendessen am Samstag so gut, dass es wirklich schade war, dass ich Sonntag nicht wieder im Hotel Abendessen konnte. Sehr aufmerksames Servicepersonal. Welches ruhig, aufmerksam und routiniert arbeitet. Ganz liebe Kollegen an der Rezeption. Denk ich komme mal wieder und wenn es nächstes Jahr zum Skispringen in Engelberg ist. Da das Zugticket in der Eintrittskarte drin war, war das Hotel von Engelberg sehr gut zu erreichen und in Stans war es Abends super ruhig. Keine 10 Minuten bei meinem Schritttempo an den Bahnhof.

Kleinigkeiten, z.B. waren im Krug für Wasser auf dem Zimmer dunkle Ablagerungen, die wie Sprenkel im Glas wirkten. Ecke vom Silikon in der Dusche sollte mal wieder ausgetauscht werden. Hab ich beides bei der Abreise angemerkt und wurde auch notiert! Ich verstehe, dass kein Fernseher auf dem Zimmer zur Philosophie des Hauses gehört. Lesezimmer ist dafür ne gute Idee, das war nett eingerichtet. Wäre schön gewesen, wenn es noch etwas mehr auch vielleicht auch Romane usw. angeboten werden würden. Sicher werden das noch mehr Bücher mit der Zeit.
