Wonderful, peaceful spot! It's everything it says it is!

The room was well appointed with cozy linens and a comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast buffet and staff were wonderful. The location is very peaceful and beautiful and was a delight to explore.

The only downside was disappointment with one of the evening meals. I expected far better for the price paid. I ordered off the menu the next evening and enjoyed it more and it cost less.

Everything is fantastic except the room

Magnificent building in magnificent location. Great atmosphere of a Swiss village. Hotel is beautifully decorated and surrounding area is as scenic as it gets. Breakfast is fantastic and staff is friendly and attentive. Short drive from Lucern as well.

Rooms are a stark contrast to the rest of the hotel and are very underwhelming. Only reason I’m not giving this hotel 10/10. Walls are plain and room has a hospital feel. There’s no A/C which makes it uncomfortable when it’s 30 outside (we arrived in a heatwave). There’s also almost no furniture. The beds are separate (not sure you can get a room with a single bed for 2) which is not great if you arrive as a couple. Also no TV - I personally think it’s a good thing - view outside is better than everything you can watch, but heads up for someone for whom it’s important. Also pricey, but as is everything in Switzerland.

The location, very clean, beautiful view

I booked 4 rooms for me and my friends on a biking trip. There was a big wedding in the hotel and even though the staff was very quick to propose us by mail the 3 course dinner (which we took), they omitted to tell us about the big party. Needless to say that nobody in the group slept very well. I find it very dishonest of their part not to let us know about it; and of course, they did not even bother to give us rooms far from the party, we were just above it. We talked about it at the reception in the morning, we got plenty of « yes » , plenty of « we understand « etc I would not book this place ever again, not because it’s not a nice place(on the contrary, it is), but because of the dishonesty and lack of care for the customers….

Amazing views and beautiful area in the hills. Loved the sound of the bells on the little goats running around outside. Great walking tracks in the countryside. A very relaxing stay. Nice to get away from the busy cities

Very nice nature surrounding the hotel.

It is huge hotel, but there is only a few parking places in front of the hotel. We had to park in a public parking place (unguarder) in village 400 m far from hotel. The room in very small. The furture is old, each piece is different style, different age, colour.

The most beautiful location I have ever stayed.

Whilst the service and location was perfect in every way I was disappointed that we had asked to borrow a power connector to charge our phone and was happily provided it. We duly returned it when checking out and when I checked the bill after I left I noticed they have charged 20 Swiss francs which converted to A$32 for use of the connector overnight. It is a shame such a beautiful hotel would resort to trivial charges like that. My suggestion is to buy your connector at the airport before your arrive at a much cheaper cost.

Beautiful and peaceful stay near Pilatus

Incredible & peaceful setting and the building itself is full of personality. Staff incredibly attentive and nice, they really took care of us (e.g. my wife is vegan and they got options for her during breakfast). Would book again without hesitation.

Nothing - as a nitpick, perhaps the duvets were a bit hot for summer, but nothing else.

A good place to spend some quiet time and easy walk around.

We are fans of Swiss Historic hotels and we knew this hotel is a good choice. As all already mentioned in other reviews, the elegant hotel building & its surroundings, sense of transquility (early Spring- low season, few guests around)..and sunny clam terrace with good choice of drinks. Perfect ! Good quality breakfast. The lovely breakfast lady took care of us very well. Thank you Madame ;-)) Carparking onsite.

Not a show stopper but the dinner was a little disappointing. Our main course were served relatively cold, Wondered how long they were sitting on the kitchen countertop before being brought out? Luckily the lovely waitress & kitchen reacted fast & polite and brought us the correct warm food. Thank you ! Overall, we still like our stay and recommend it.

It was OK

Vast majority of customers are German-speaking. The personnel can communicate in English. Rooms are OK, beds and showers are good. Food is good, but nothing special; no wonder the restaurants are not included in the Michelin guide.

I paid 8.5 CHF for ... tap water. The tap water must be very good in this area... The building is probably made of wood; when people walk or use the toilets upstairs, you can hear them. Most customers were elderly, so there were no "other" noises.

Une possibilité de se faire un thé dans les chambres serait appréciée bien que le personnel nous fournisse en thermos à la demande.Les chambres historiques sont peut-être un peu chère comparée aux chambres standard qui sont attractives , ma foi.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut, leider war das Rührei fast kalt, der Rest war Perfekt.

Beim Abendessen war das Essen eher kalt, die Teller zu wenig warm. Schade, das Essen war so schnell fast kalt.

Ein tolles Hotel mitten in den Obwaldner Bergen!

Das Jugendstilhotel Paxmontana ist wunderschön gelegen, bietet ein tolles Frühstücksbüffet und hat sehr nettes Personal. Ebenfalls empfehlenswert ist die Küche, welche das Restaurant und die Bar bekocht. Zu den Feiertagen gab es sehr leckere Festmenüs aus regionalen Spezialitäten.

Comfortabel adres, overprijsd en personeel (receptie en bediening bar en ontbijt) niet attent.

Ontbijt was veel niet veel keus, of van tegenvallende kwaliteit. Personeel niet erg vriendelijk. Basisvoorzieningen zoals zout en peper niet voorhanden. Alleen margarine geen echte boter, koffie matig. Op het terras werd ik door de bediening niet opgemerkt en nadat ik mij binnen had gemeld om iets te bestellen, daarna verder niets besteld omdat er niet werd bediend (niet actief).

Merveilleux endroit

Hotel bel époque au charme parfait, entouré de Coline, de chapelles et de lacs, une merveille! Du délicieux chocolat nous attend sur les oreillers. Un bon délicieux au début du siècle précédent. Le restaurant est ´ plus d’être beau était très bon. Des jeux d’échecs et de quilles sont parfaits pour les enfants. C’est en plus le lieu de pèlerinage du saint patron de la Suisse.
