Nice house but unpleasant experience

Good location near the centre. The house is very beautiful, it’s an old French house and the rooms are very spacious. Breakfast was good.

We were informed 1 h before arrival that the toilet in the room was broken and couldn’t be used. I understand it was not their fault and it couldn’t be repaired because it was 1st of January , however it was also not our fault .The host told us we could use a toilet in the hallway outside of our room. He should have offered a reduction in price but all he did was, only after our complaint, to offer a reduction of 20 euro which is way too few because he could never charge what he charged us for a room without a toilet! Moreover we found out that the door of the room didn’t lock so anyone could easily enter without a key and there were spikes sticking out of the bathroom door and the floor. I understand this is an old house but it is not acceptable nor safe. Luckily he was able to repair the toilet and the door the day after our arrival but the first night was not pleasant at all also considering we were traveling with 2 small children.

Breakfast was fresh and plentiful and the hosts were really polite and friendly- definitely booking this accommodation on our next visit

If there was one minor issue it was that the larger of the 2 shower heads probably needs replacing but other than that we had no issues

Fabulous

The hosts Thomas & Valerie are friendly, approachable & helpful. Breakfast was very good, fresh & a variety. Even provided me with a teapot for my cuppa. From our room great view of the magnificent cathedral. Comfy bed . It’s a fabulous grand old French house.

Location was ok , near fortified old town but on a busy road & noisy. Stairs were a struggle .

Beautiful property, great location, fantastic host.

Immaculately clean, beautiful throughout. Very special place. Such a great find. Thomas was fantastic at keeping in touch and providing any info we needed via messaging. It’s all in the detail, our rooms were made up whilst having our breakfast, which was a really pleasant surprise. Location wise, just a few steps to the old town which is a lot of fun at night. We loved “The Vole Hole”! Parking was really easy, on the street outside the property and it is free. Our rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious. Great stay overall!

The decor was lovely throughout. The breakfast was fresh, tasty and very good. Like has been said before by others, don’t be put off by the outside condition of the building - the inside is lovely.

An absolutely beautiful and comfortable place to stay

It was so beautiful. I absolutely love the design of the interiors. It was a really welcoming space. The person running the hotel was really welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was really comfortable and it had a lovely view after the wINDOWS stop the location was perfect and we parked for free directly opposite and the breakfast was delicious all in all perfect.

I would just say they need a different bathroom door for more privacy

Great location for personal or business trip

Great location within walking distance to restaurants, sightseeing, and general area. The maison is a large home old home that has been tastefully restored and updated. The hotel room and bathroom is very large and I had a room that looked out over the old town wall and cathedral. There is little to no noise from the street as the property sits on a smaller street. Parking is available in front of the property and you are given a key for the front door and room to come and go as you please. Breakfast was wonderful and healthy with many choices. The staff are wonderful and provided several recommendations for restaurants and coffee shops.

The bed was a bit concave in the center. Likely needs to be replaced.

-Breakfast too late, starting 8:30, not provided 30 mins earlier as agreed, so we missed 2 out of 3 breakfasts. To be fair, the host kindly apologised for the issue -Payment by cash or bank transfer which wasn’t convenient, no card payment

Was very nice and just what we wanted. No big complaints.

Breakfast was a good continental. Room was big and airy. Location to old town was fantastic. Free parking is plentiful outside or very nearby.

To note, you could be faced with a considerable number of stairs if you have an upper room. No lift. Check in at 5pm onwards.

Breakfast was edequate, choice of cerials, the usual bread rolls, cold cuts, boiled eggs. I guess I'm a little hard to please as I like toast, and am always disappointed when there's no toaster...or bread.

There was a strange smell that permeated in the building, mainly in the hallway and the area where breakfast was served. It was a sort of dank, musty smell.

An enjoyable pre-Christmas break.

We enjoyed our stay and were made welcome. The Guest House is very central to the old town. The beds were a good size and very comfortable and the showers worked well.

Parking was not ideal. Although we found spaces very near to the hotel, the road was very busy. On the first night our rooms were provided with coffee, cups and extra glasses, but none were supplied for the next two. Similarly, the room was cleaned on the second morning but not the next two. Breakfast was good, with fresh bread and croissants but it would have been nice to be offered more coffee!
