A friendly, clean, comfortable hotel and good value for money

Easy to find and park, welcoming friendly staff, nice bar in reception, great shower

Wimereux is a lovely little town on the coast and this small, friendly hotel is well situated for the town centre and promenade. Comfortably furnished and spacious rooms and public spaces. Very friendly and competent staff. Private car park.

The beds were very comfortable. The decor was lovely.

There was too much furniture in the room which made it a bit cramped - the chair wasn't necessary and meant you couldn't open the bathroom door fully and was a hazard on the way to the bathroom. The shower, while big with plenty of hot water, it did spray water all over the bathroom floor which made it very slippy. Yes we used the small towel that was available to put on the floor, but it wasn't sufficient.

Hotel cancelled our reservation without notifying us

We were not able to enjoy our stay at Hotel des Arts as they cancelled our reservation without warning. On our booking account the reservation was still confirmed. This was not a booking.com problem bit the hotel itself. At 11.30pm we had to find another accommodation with everything being fully booked because of the busy easter weekend. Not professional at all.

Hotel with charm

We stayed in one of the balcony rooms and it and the ensuite were huge by French standards! Large, comfortable bed, excellent shower. The hotel is on the main road through Wimereux which is busy by day but very quiet at night.

A lovely stop close to the Shuttle!

The room was lovely and the staff were really friendly. There was an unexpected bar area which was welcoming and warm.

Parking was a bit tricky as everywhere was so busy, due to it being Easter. However, a space in the car park became free after a short while.

The hotel has been extensively renovated, providing a stylish and comfortable base from which to explore the town.

Maybe OK in summer if someone’s around but we expect better service at any time of the year.

Comfortable bed. Shower was fine. Tea & coffee.

We didn’t like the fact that we stood outside in a storm trying to get in. I had to use my English mobile ( costly) to phone for a code. I’d already rejected another hotel for the night because of no staff being present. Why didn’t the proprietor give us advance notice that everything would be closed? Never saw a member of staff. Rude to say the least. We pay for a service not just a room. Wish I had read other reviews with the same problem. The bathroom door slid along but didn’t close. Not ideal!! Didn’t have breakfast at 12€ each or pay for parking. Already overpriced for a room. Also had some jewellery & cash but safe didn’t work & noone in the building. Went out for a meal but didn’t feel relaxed leaving it behind. I’d emailed to see if food would be available but no reply. The hotel I’d previously rejected had at least told us noone would be there. We got soaked because here noone had the courtesy to notify us of their absence. Sorry hotel St Jean - we’ll be back to you in future.

check in stated 1500h arrived at 1530 in the rain and doors locked. had to ring them to receive the code for entry and they stated check in was 1600h ? charged for parking ( have stayed before and no charge) and was not expecting that expense
