The perfect escape for an intimate stay within castle walls!

Our stay was an absolutely lovely experience. The place is nicely tucked within the castle walls, with short walk to nearby restaurants and shops. We picked the room with the bath and it was super cosy and luxurious feeling - Perfect for an intimate stay. We also booked an hour at the pool, which was better than what we could have imagined! The breakfast was also very cosy and comfortable feeling, with our host, David welcoming us and making sure we had everything we could have wanted. Local cheeses, fresh croissants and treats handmade by our other host Sabrina, all of which we enjoyed to the fullest. Very fast and lovely communication prior and during our stay. Excellent stay within the old city walls.

Everything was a delight! The welcome was exceptional. The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and treated us like family guests. The location couldn't be better. The room, the facilities and the ambiance were simply exceptional. This hidden gem cannot be recommended highly enough.

Minor inconvenience, but we wish we had taken a bath instead of a shower as recommended by the host.

An utterly beautiful Period Property hotel, situated in the Old Town, just wonderful !!

Sabrina and David are superb hosts of an utterly beautiful boutique hotel. Our room was amazing, very spacious and comfortable, with an fantastic view of the Chateau, as promised. The breakfast was wonderful, so much choice and beautifully laid out. You can see that Sabrina & David are very proud of their hotel and deservedly so!! It was a real pleasure meeting them and being able to stay in this property, we look forward to staying with you both again!!

Lovely stay, wonderful property, fantastic hosts!

Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous location. Just a short stroll away from the old town & restaurants etc. The owners were super helpful upon check in, helping us park the car & getting us to our room. The language barrier wasn’t an issue & we muddled through. The little underground pool is just lovely & the perfect way to relax after a long day. Our room was beautiful; fully equipped with all we needed. Being disabled the bath was slightly tricky to get in/out of but we chose this room for the views so not the hosts fault at all. The hosts were so proud of their properly & rightly so! They loved informing us of the history & how they had renovated it over the years. Breakfast delicious with a yummy selection of meats, bread, cheese, jams, croissants, tea & coffee.

The bed in our room was slightly on the hard/lumpy side but still slept well.

Hosts very friendly and attentive even with limited English we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was way above expectations with a great variety of homemade goods, smoothies Yogurts , fresh fruit local cheeses meats and bread and drinks on tap ! Very clean house and well.looked after, tastefully done. All the extras we noted in the room fresh flowers, daily bed making coffee machine , filtered water , cakes, cotton wool and earbuds, tissues, pleasant aroma and toiltries and secure parking for our motorcycle not far from the property. Nice view of the castle and lots of local eateries but also close to the promenade where Nautica (Aquariam) is about a 20 minute walk. Dont miss a chance in booking this property.

The room we chose due to the lovely freestanding bath, only had a toilet with a small wall limiting our privacy This might not be negative for some but it was for us, however we were shown access to another toliet on lower level on arrival.

Warm welcome, comfort and attention to detail make Chambres d'hote du Chateau a great place to stay.

Sabrina and David are the perfect hosts. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished and extremely comfortable with lots of character. Nothing is too much trouble - information, advice, restaurant reservations and even sending on things left behind at the end of our stay! Location in the historic walled town is excellent with a range of restaurants and free parking is available nearby. The breakfast is amazing! We'll be back!

A charming and tastefully furnished old house nestled next to the château. Breakfast is amazing; everything is top drawer - including the home-made pudding cake. Sabrina and David are perfect hosts.

Dear Owners, Kindness is a simple yet powerful quality—and one that truly matters. I found myself needing to spend a night in Boulogne-sur-Mer and booked a stay the same day, around 3 PM. The day quickly became hectic with meetings, and by the time we arrived at the chambre d’hôte, it was around 11 PM. The door was closed. We called, knocked, and after ten long minutes, a woman opened the door—clearly angry. She scolded me for waking her up and said, without much compassion, that I could no longer stay there. She spoke only in French, and when I explained I didn’t fully understand, her response was deeply upsetting: “In France, we have different rules—if you don’t follow them, go back to your country.” That moment was crushing. I felt unwelcome, judged, and completely abandoned. I saw the hostility in her eyes and the lack of patience in her voice. I knew then I couldn’t stay—not just because I was told to leave, but because I no longer felt safe. I tried to find another place. I called four different hotels, but none had availability. What followed was a nightmare—I sat in my car, in a foreign place, exhausted and heartbroken, considering sleeping there out of desperation. I was scared, deeply disappointed, and honestly, disgusted by how I had been treated. Eventually, I made the difficult choice to drive back home. I arrived at 3 AM, physically and emotionally drained. As I lay in my own bed, I told myself I would try to forget this entire experience. But it’s not so easy to forget the feeling of being cast aside. In hindsight, I regret not calling the police or simply sleeping in front of her door—because I had paid for a place to stay and was refused it. Her decision to send me away at such a late hour, without any care for my safety, was not just inconsiderate—it was dangerous. Please, be kind. And more importantly, listen when someone is trying to speak to you. Everyone deserves compassion, especially when they are far from home.

Had to pay extra to use small pool in basement. It was a nice experience but the water temperature should have been warmer.

Pleasant stay in old french style

We were happy with our choice! The location was great, just in the middle of the old town. What impressed us was the interior design, the history of the villa and the super nice pool! The hosts were very kind with everyone and careful with every detail! The breakfast was one of the best ones we have had! Based on local products and healthy choices. We even tried home made yogurt! It was amazing! The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We are definitely looking forward revisiting!
