I am so glad we got to stay at Hotel Grifone- the property is in a fantastic location in the historic area of Sirmione. The housekeeping and staff were very helpful and courteous. As a tall person, I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and extra large tub in our bathroom! The morning breakfast was also amazing, with delicious local treats on a beautiful indoor/outdoor seating area.
Nothing comes to mind- it was really wonderful!

Excellent location in the old town on the water’s edge next to the castle. Convenient parking at GerifoParking outside the ZTL with electric cart service right to your hotel; arrangements and payment made through the hotel (€31/day). Very friendly and helpful host Laurenzia. Very large room and bathroom with comfortable queen size bed and pillows. WIFI, A/C, TV, large armoire and desk. All you can eat breakfast buffet with a minimal but adequate choice of items. Very nice outside nice breakfast patio, just a lot of sparrows picking at our table, you have the option of sitting inside.
Make sure of the room you select, we thought we reserved a room with a water view but were told upon arrival that what we reserved was a partial water view. We changed to a room with a water view which was fantastic and paid the additional €20/day, the only problem was the room didn’t have a shower, just a bathtub, a real negative for us. Make sure what you are getting before reserving a room Although the room was large and had an armoire there were no luggage racks.

Amazing location and an abundant breakfast! It was really great having all those cakes and cheeses by the morning.
There were multiple things that went wrong, but the most important one: the receptionist's attitude. It simply was off. I understand perhaps she was doing her best and tried to make sure the hotel was under her "control", but sometimes it was too much... If you want to "control" your guests, do it on a way they won't feel it. If you want your guests to feel happy and comfortable, you need to communicate clearly whichever the rules are and know when to "ease" things up when things go wrong, otherwise it will happen what it happened to us: stress and distrust - the last thing someone wants during a trip.
