The proprietors and staff were very nice and welcoming indeed. The hotel style and decor is lovely. The location is great, being close to the lake and near some very nice restaurants. Bus stops nearby. About 20 minute walk to the gateway into the old town. A very enjoyable stay.
We probably hadn't paid enough attention to the small print and so wasn't expecting the charge of 15 Euros per day for parking. That's our fault and was a lesson to properly read everything on Booking.com. I've no doubt the charge is typical for the area. Also the area is more touristy than any other of the locations we visited on our driving holiday, however none of this distracted from our stay. We highly recommend this hotel.

The owners and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
We didn’t have a car and we went to another hotel in the nearby town of Desenzano, that had the same name, rather than this hotel in Sirmione, ( this hotel), by ferry and walking, only to discover the error on our part. With bags in tow, we took a taxi back to this Hotel Villa Rose. It was an expensive, time consuming and emotional mistake, but once we got to this hotel, in Sirmione, the owners were so very nice and welcoming.
