Lovely hotel in the heart of Sirmione

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Désirée. Location is central in Sirmione, we booked a parking spot outside via the Hotel and it was about 10-15 mins walk one way and allowed us to easily explore the surrounding villages and cities. And the old town was easily explored by foot and the location allowed to visit touristy spots before it was too crowded. The rooms have balconies offering a lovely view over the lake, breakfast was really good vs other Italian hotels and the hotel pool offers some laid back relaxation vs the hustle of the city.

During peak, the breakfast buffet was partially empty and the staff struggled refilling everything in time.

Kind of a hidden gem, with great location and good overall value. I would go back there anytime!

Location is excellent! Depending on the room, you have a good view of the lake. Facilities are very nice, staff is friendly and they have a fair price. It's a great value for the price!

Parking is a little tight, but I found a space. Getting into this area (it is an island) requires some process at the gate of the island that is not very clear (I had to call the hotel in order to figure out how to enter the island). Be prepared to drive through some narrow and very crowded streets if you arrive during regular business hours.

Location and potential

Staff were non attentive, and misleading the hotel was poorly maintained and dirty. Bathrooms had mould carpets were filthy..Looks tired and neglected after a busy season. Lots of lovely hotels locally do yourself a favour and avoid

Highly recommend this serene stay

Beautiful, tranquil location steps away from the heart of the action. Fabulous breakfast. Excellent room and beautiful balcony view of the lake. Pool area was great, but a bit busy with limited chairs available. Lovely grounds. Would definitely stay again.

For a hotel like this, one should not have to pay for ice or pool towels! The staff could have been more accommodating with these requests. Sewer smell outside when eating breakfast.

Overll a great stay.

Beautiful property in a quiet part of the peninsula. Very nice pool. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10.

Initial room was small, 2 single beds overlooking the courtyard. We booked the property 9 months in advance and our travel companions had a view of the lake. When we asked for a different room the staff were very accommodating. Charged for ice and towels which should be free for a hotel of this caliber. Our shower leaked water into the washroom. How could they not know there was an issue.

Peaceful stay at Sirmione

The staff of the hotel was really nice and recommended us a nice place for our dinner. Moreover they let us leave our bags even after checking out the room. The room was spacious enough with a mini fridge and a small terrace. The breakfast was really nice and with a quite large choice of savoury/sweet food. Overall this was the best place we stayed at during our trip.

The towels were a bit small.

A perfect holiday in perfect place.

So peaceful. The view from the balcony. The Gardens and pool. The cleanliness was great. Loved the staff, especially Valentina (?) who looked after the breakfast. She is a beautiful soul and so helpful & friendly. I love this place and will definitely return again.

I stayed in 246 and there was no mirror in the bedroom. If my husband was having a shower, I could not style my hair in the bathroom mirror because of the steam. So please a full length mirror in the bedroom.

The room was absolutely perfect, great size, modern and very clean. Everything you could need was there. The pool was beautiful, the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and the location was ideal. Away from the busy tourist streets but not too far a walk.

What I liked the best? The location and the various breakfast and kettle for tea in the room. Everything is the same how it looks in the official photos. If you book here, and travel by car, do not forget book the city's parking area-called Grifo parking- via the hotel.

The pool was lovely and clean, just enough sunbeds. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Location was perfect, just the other side of the old town but very close on foot. Majority of the staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you apart from the barman.

3 star hotel was in keeping for what you get for your money. It was a little dated but did the job for a couple of nights with a lovely pool and breakfast.

Most part of hotel facilities and service were great except air conditioning.

No air conditioning. Reception staff said that due to local regulation no air conditioning was allowed. Hence we felt very hot in the room. We have asked some shop owners of the regulation, but they have never heard about the regulation and were using air conditioner.

What a brilliant hotel, from our first interaction to our last the staff were amazing, the bar manager a lovely man, the breakfast room lady fantastic, great characters and a massive asset to the hotel. Breakfast was superb, the pool was beautiful. Room spacious with lovely balcony, this hotel is more 4 star than 3, amazing hotel.

Hotel is half renovated ,on the booking it looks totaly deferent,bathroom is old and not funcioning ,i payed 170 euros for the night and its real value is 70 topa

Location and breakfast

The rooms are not as expected based on pictures. Our room was not cleaned the first day. The receptionist was very rude when we asked for a shuttle to our car which we had to park 2km from the hotel. It’s not worth the price.

Great staff and great location

Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and location, clean and good value for money. Best hotel staff that we met in Italy, so far. Bartender will make you feel like you are his personal special guest. This hotel will be at our recommendation list, for sure. Hope to be back one day.

Balcony between two rooms is missing some privacy, but for us it wasn’t an issue since we shared balcony next door with our family. Soundproofing could be better as well.
