Absolutely everything. The staff were amazing. The food was magnificent the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. The whole facility was fantastic. So much thought has been put into this wonderful hotel. Though the hotel is right on the road you do not hear anything as the windows are top quality as is everything in the hotel. All room have AC.
Nothing at the hotel but limited restaurants within walking distance due the size of the village.
8.0 / 10.0
Rooms are modern, beds are super comfortable, very friendly staff
Elaborate breakfast spread
Convenient location
No side walk to the parking lot, have to walk on the road facing the traffic, have to be extra careful not to be hit by a car

I've never been to a hotel before where they give you such considered and personal service.
Aleksandra and her team went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful and comfortable stay at Hotel Capitano.
The hotel itself is tucked away by the ferry port - and just to say that the windows are good so you can't hear anything.
I was a solo traveller and Aleksandra was kind enough to drive me herself to a nearby beach she recommended.
Luka was fantastic and accommodating and very impressive with the languages he quickly changed through according to the guests.
It's well worth having the dinner on the nights they offer it, the seafood is beautiful. And as a non- Chardonnay- liking person, I loved the Montenegrin Chardonnay!
The staff help you find the best routes to the nearby places, like Perast and Herceg Novi, and it's a lovely home base to come back to.
I chose this hotel because I saw other solo travellers had found it so lovely, and I'm glad I did the same, but there were lots of nice couples as well. Everyone was very polite and friendly to each other, while letting each other be.
I couldn't recommend Hotel Capitano enough.

Beautiful boutique hotel.

I was absolutely delighted with this hotel! The room was spacious with a very large and comfortable bed – I slept like at home. The breakfast pleasantly surprised me with its variety: always fresh products and a great selection. A special thanks to the staff – incredibly friendly and helpful people, always ready to assist and answer any questions. I truly felt like welcome guests and will definitely come back again
The location wasn’t perfect – there’s a road nearby and a platform for transporting cars by water. But since the house is centuries old, it’s clear the road came much later, and the charm of the historic building still outweighs these minor inconveniences.

Hotel Capitano is a thoughtfully designed boutique hotel, offering a very pleasant stay and convenient access to the highlights of the Bay of Kotor.
What immediately stood out to us at Hotel Capitano was how beautiful the building and interior were, exactly as shown in the photos, with elegant touches and a peaceful atmosphere that made a strong first impression. The hotel has a quiet charm, with stylish décor and a layout that creates a real sense of space and calm. With just 17 rooms, it feels intimate and almost private, which adds to its relaxed character. Everything seems thoughtfully designed, from the arrangement of the rooms to the inviting outdoor areas. The pool area, where breakfasts and dinners are served, is a particularly nice bonus.
The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay. Luka and his team were available when needed and ensured things ran smoothly, which we appreciated.
The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding region, with Herceg Novi, Perast, and Kotor all within easy reach. It’s an ideal base for discovering some of the most scenic parts of the bay.
Breakfasts were generous and well-prepared, with a good variety of options to suit different tastes, and also an A la carte menu (for free).
Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully furnished. Although the hotel is located very close to the ferry terminal, the soundproof windows worked remarkably well and kept outside noise to a minimum.
Thank you Luka and the whole team!
The ferry’s presence and the traffic is something you notice when stepping outside. Still, once inside the hotel, it feels quiet and sheltered. Also, we enjoyed taking the ferry to go (in a few minutes) to the good restaurant Amphora just opposite the hotel and visit the nice village in which it is situated.
One small drawback is that the hotel doesn’t have its own beach access or any arrangement with a nearby beach club. That said, we were able to find a nice beach club about 300 meters away (Bocasa Beach), which was convenient, though a bit on the expensive side. It would have been a real plus to have a partnership or reserved area for guests, especially given the hotel’s otherwise thoughtful setup.

Hotel staff had excellent recommendations for beach bars (Castana and Bocasa) and restaurants. They were very attentive and helpful. The pool is a nice temperature and breakfast is very good. The hotel is located in an area where it is easy to visit Kotor and Perast etc. btw perast boat trips are 5 euros from inside.
Noise from ferries and someone singing at night, fridge made a lot of noise.
I think the rooftop room mattress may need to be changed and they need to get a fitted sheet which I believe they will be addressing.

My stay at Hotel Capitano in Tivat was truly outstanding! Getting there was a breeze. A quick 10-minute taxi ride from the airport to the ferry station, followed by a 5-minute ferry crossing. As soon as you step off the ferry, the hotel is right in front of you, making it incredibly convenient. The staff were exceptional, catering to our every need with genuine warmth and professionalism. The hotel was impeccably clean, and the meals were delicious, offering a fantastic variety. The views from the property were breathtaking, enhancing the overall experience. I highly recommend Hotel Capitano for a seamless, luxurious, and memorable stay in Tivat!
While breakfast was included in our package, it would have been much better if it was all inclusive.
Asides that, it was a 10/10

The Hotel Capitano outside isn´t spectaculous but when you coming inside you feel the hospitality of Montenegrian Family Business. You see at small details (in interior architecture or at the food) that they like their business and like to fulfill the wishes of their guests. The hotel is opposite at the ferry in Kamenari but through good windows its nothing to hear. The room is spacious with see view with a big bath room with shower and bath tube. The bed is big and give a good feeling to sleep supported with a variaty of pillows. The breakfast has a lot of varieties, the diner is typical montegrinian with a very good house wine. From this side again many thanks to the owners and staff of the Hotel Capitano.

Charming boutique hotel. We stayed for four days and it was an extraordinary experience. The service was very friendly and personalized. They offer the customer service that every accommodation should have. They made us feel at home. The atmosphere was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent and varied. Conveniently located, next to the ferry station for crossing the bay.
The room we stayed in was a little small.

The place is beautiful! The rooms and hotel is so nicely decorated and has the original open stone in display really highlighting the property.
The service is amazing, all the staff but incredibly kind and helpful. The service both at reception and the restaurant was incredibly attentive. They handed us a printed guide of the Kotor Bay, which is very thoughtful and helpful.
The location is very accessible through the ferry, as it is right across the street.
There’s a restaurant next to the pool that has an incredible menu and the quality of the wood is amazing. Also, I really recommend trying their local wine! 10/10
As mentioned, the property is very close to the ferry, right across the ferry port. So if your window is facing the street side there’s a lot of noice from very early in the morning until late at night. The window is pretty good at blocking most of the noise, but you if you’re a light sleeper it might be an issue.
You’re also not able to open the curtains or the window as the room will be visible from the street. Also, (something that wasn’t so important for us as we were on vacation but might be worth mentioning in case someone is planning to get some work done while staying at the hotel) the internet is VERY slow.

The property was quaint and pretty. The staff, especially Luka, were very helpful and accommodating. They booked sun-beds/ lunch/ dinner for us at our request. The breakfast was really good especially the hot breakfasts which had a wide range of choices from pancakes to frys (we recommend the Capitano Breakfast)
It is directly across from the ferry port which operates 24/7 making the road very busy and constant traffic- there were no footpaths (but the noise wasn’t bad from inside the room.

Boutique Hotel Capitano is a beautiful small hotel located right by the sea, in an area that has a beautiful beach and a beach bar Bocca few meters away from the property and surrounded with great restaurants just couple minutes away by car. Rooms are very comfortable and clean with a beautiful interior and a touch of traditionality. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating! The breakfast is great, lots of choices and all very tasty! Overall a great experience and enjoyed it so much! It’s a great spot to stay in if you are planning to discover Boka Kotorska Bay. We all definitely come again!

We got there with our own car, and it turned sort of difficult to locate the hotel (at least for us, but we called them and they helped us by phone). We spent there one night only, but we enjoyed the premises, the room decor, the breakfast, and the open-air dinner near the swimming pool. Very kind personnel.

Beautiful rooms and lovely view. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Coffee machine out of order for 2 of our 3 night stay. Parking is a little way from the hotel (40 yds or so) but exit is right on a bend, which makes it a bit hair raising.

This hotel is a gem! Hidden behind the stone exterior is a beautiful boutique hotel. The superior room we were give is stunning and relaxing by the pool is bliss. The food is excellent and compared with other local places, the restaurant prices are moderate and the waiting staff were not trying to upsell. The staff could not have been lovelier and we felt very looked after! We would definitely come back!
There was nothing to dislike! It was perfect!

The room was really lovely, spacious and well furnished, it had a great shower and bath, and a huge bed. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, making us feel so welcome. The included breakfast was also a highlight! There was an excellent buffet style selection as well as an a la carte menu for eggs, pancakes etc. Not much in the actual town, but it’s a great starting off point to explore the rest of Boka bay, and the ferry is useful if you want to travel further south eg. to Budva. The nearby beaches were some of the nicest we went to in the bay.

This is a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and lovely facilities eventhough it’s small. breakfast was good.
This is an ideal hotel if you are looking for somewhere to relax, there’s not much to do in the immediate vicinity so you need to either drive or just chill out
9.0 / 10.0
The staff went above and beyond, especially in helping us quickly recover a bag we lost on a bus on the way to the hotel. The breakfast was magnificent, by far the best we had in a multi-week trip through the Balkans. In fact, one of the best we've ever had in all of our travels. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the pool was well-located and refreshing. All in all, we had a wonderful, restful stay with a six-star level of customer service.
The only potential issue is that the property is perhaps best visited with a car. But the car-and-passenger ferry that gives you access to Tivat and Kotor is right across the street and runs extremely frequently.

The staff was great, Michael was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The pool, which we by chance had all to ourselves, was fantastic! And breakfast a la carte even topped that! You did hear the noises of the ferry in the background, but we didn't bother us at all.

Nothing - it was all great.
