Excellent resort, staff, service and food.

This is up there with one of the best resorts we've stayed in. We stayed in one of the villa rooms overlooking the sea. We had a shared pool just a few metres from our terrace. The room size was generous and the in room facilities were outstanding. The huge bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble. We had a few extra requests and the wonderful team went above and beyond to try and accommodate us.

As others have said the television offering wasn't great for English speakers ( not much choice ) and the casting facility for the on demand services, streaming from my phone didn't work consistently. This was only a small issue as we didn't use it much.

❌ Major Disappointment – Hygiene, Service and Operational Failures All at Once

We stayed at One&Only Portonovi for just two nights hoping to rest and recharge, but sadly, it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience. What we encountered was far below the standards expected from a hotel carrying the One&Only name. There were severe hygiene issues, communication breakdowns, and serious service inconsistencies. ⸻ 🧼 CRITICAL HYGIENE PROBLEMS • Beach towels were stained and visibly dirty. We reported this with photos, yet nothing was resolved. As a result, we couldn’t use the towels or swim in the sea. • Sun loungers were covered in bird droppings. There was no effort to clean them before guest use. • Glasses by the indoor pool were greasy and poorly washed. We had to inspect each one before using. • The children’s pool was murky, dirty, and contained rusted elements. After using it, my son became ill with a fever. • Despite daily written requests, basic housekeeping items like fresh towels, bottled water, and proper cleaning were often missing or delayed. ⸻ 🍽️ FOOD & DIETARY REQUESTS IGNORED • Prior to arrival, we informed the hotel via email and WhatsApp about our strict dietary restrictions: no sugar, no flour, no oil, and halal-only meat for our son. • Despite this, no pork-free options were available at breakfast. It took over one hour to prepare a simple meal for my hungry child. • We asked for a 9-minute boiled egg. The wrong order was delivered three times in a row. • I specifically requested unsweetened ginger juice, yet was served a sugary shot. I drank it before realizing. This ruined 30 days of sugar-free dieting and was not just careless but legally and ethically negligent. • Despite clearly written, polite, and repeated instructions, almost nothing was executed as requested. ⸻ 🛎️ SERVICE BREAKDOWNS & POOR EXECUTION • Staff were generally kind but severely undertrained for this level of hospitality.

What could have been such an amazing holiday turned out to be a nightmare.

Beautiful property, the rooms are beautiful and big, it’s very clean, best turn down service I have experienced - The gym and spa are also wonderful. You probably think: why did this person give a 1 star rating then? well, unfortunately our stay was completely ruined and I will explain why. To begin: with: I did spoke with the general manager and he offered us a compensation which was very kind. Nevertheless our stay was ruined and we need a holiday from our holiday and I think other people who want to spend their hard earned money on an expensive property like this should be aware of the downsides of this property, so they can perhaps reconsider their choice as I think for this price point there are a lot of other beautiful ( better managed and food) properties to choose from. Below my most honest and detailed review:

Unfortunately I can’t say anything good about the food- which seems to be a common issue- it’s just absolutely terrible, the breakfast is very bad, they literally couldn’t cook an egg ( no this isn’t a joke) I asked for a boiled egg for 9 minutes and received a green pre-cooked one after 5 minutes, this happend on multiple days - all other dishes were also awful and the whole vibe is an all inclusive- resort kind of vibe, it’s mass production and people are standing in line with their plates. The room service we had was just an absolute joke, it was the worst food we ever had in our lives ( and please consider that all food in the resort is extremely expensive). When you walk to the port -which is very boring as there are just 4 restaurants left to choose from and most of the shops have closed their doors- (it’s like a ghost town )it’s like 1/3th of the price. We did like NOA In the port, very good food! It was the only out of the 4 restaurants we liked. People pre-reserve their sun beds, during our stay we had 2 occasions we didn’t had sun beds on the beach as people put their personal stuff on them to “book” them, are we in a O&O or an all inclusive resort again? Now comes the most awful part: our room was above Tapasake, a beachclub which belongs to the hotel which is having awful blaring music from 11am till 11pm. They moved us to a different room after 3 days- this was 20 meters from the other room- and it was just as bad, even with the doors closed it was unbearable, it’s absolutely ridiculous the resort is allowing this, it really ruined our mood and holiday.

A gem of a hotel. All the staff were so friendly, a special shout out to Ivan at Tapasake. Spa treatments were unusual but fantastic too. We had an amazing short stay and really could not fault anything at all

Incredible family-friendly hotel that we would definitely recommend

This is an excellent hotel especially if you’re traveling with kids. The service was impeccable and the staff were always so friendly and so personable. They really made our family feel welcome. The rooms are big and gorgeous. Facilities excellent. Truly a magical stay. All food for kids under four was complimentary which was very nice, and the kids club is excellent with the most lovely ladies running it.

This was truly a five star hotel however the price of food in the restaurants was just way too high, even for a hotel of this calibre. A cheeseburger and fries was €40, and it only went up from there. We never ate at Tapasaki as we hadn’t heard positive reviews of the food from other guests. Portonovi port is a five minute walk from the hotel, with brand new infrastructure and delicious restaurants at reasonable prices.

Amazing hotel! This hotel is my favourite after travelling to many places around the world

I enjoyed having access to all facitilities within the hotel. The quiet relaxed environment. Also enjoyed breakfast where we had the option to select food/nibbles which were easily accessible aswell as placing your own order

The only downfall - it is an isolated hotel with not many transport to tourist areas unless planned in advance. Apart from the hotel there is not much to do nearby.

I loved the hotel. Staff were extremely careful of my needs and ready for me whenever I need help. Golf cart can take you to anywhere close by. The private beach and pools are luxurious, so as the Turkish SPA which was superb.

1) large, opulent rooms with beautiful views and intricate details; 2) scenic and peaceful location within the Portonovi marina, offering a selection of restaurants & beach clubs nearby; 3) nice breakfast with a mix of a la carte and buffet options

1) a rather inconsistent service provided by the hotel staff, often lacking finesse and not providing guests with a complete peace of mind (eg we were not even offered a glass of water upon arrival let alone the customary welcome drink), the staff seemed to be puzzled even by such a simple task as arranging transportation to the nearby town or by a question about the bar’s opening hours; 2) poor value for money when it came to sightseeing (there wasn’t even a printed out brochure detailing the experiences or a professional English speaking guide)

An unforgettable Stay

If its not One & Only then dont bother visiting Montenegro. Your stay is only complete if you stay here. Its a beautiful property. From the room to the bathroom to the comfortable bed and all the other amenities in the hotel. The staff are very courteous. The SPA and hair salon is a must try.

very relaxing stay in a wonderful location

the property was amazing in terms of location, the boka bay, the hardware and the calmness and tranquility one can find

although the structure and the entire hotel concept is well conceived and purveyed, it still lacks the general management. Like in the pool, one afternoon, we were given a very short listed menu but the day after we instead received a very long and detailed one. Also the very last morning in the pool loungers there were nice tray with water spray, spf and wet towels, a very nice touch that was missing in the previous days. We really did not appreciate the rush and unfriendliness of the check out service, where everything was dismissed in a blink of an eye, no particular caring sentence or a nice “bye bye” trip sack. We basically waited the chauffeur by our own means without been being eased out.

Fabulously dreamy views, rooms and food.

The property is beautiful and inside a gated community with other properties as well as a marina with various wonderful off site dining options. The lighting and the art in the hotel is amazingly well done. Every space feel luxurious. The rooms are breathtaking and the bathrooms are marvelously spacious. We stayed in a Bayview rooms with large balconies that connected through a hallway to another large bayview room as we were traveling 4 in our family. The Tapasake restaurant was excellent and so was Sabia. The gym and spa are very well equipped

They need to learn to make smoothies. Not sure why they struggled with it (tasted terrible) since they have amazing fruit. Otherwise, it was perfect in every way. The location is not close to Kotor (45 minutes by car) as the location is self contained and a little remote but the views make up for it.

The name is well deserved.

Everything in this hotel is amazing. Staff, design, food, ... all beyond expectations. Fantastic for offseason rest. It's Chenot Espace is something special, the treatments are something to look into, but the food they give for detox is really unbelievable.
