Great Staff, always friendly and very helpful and charming. Great location, great views from our room. Free boat service upon arrival and departure as well as every night to go to the village.
Build quality could use an update: no real sound proofing, glass windows did not close properly etc but this didn’t disturb us much.

Really strong 3 star hotel! Views are incredible and you walking away with an ‘experience’ not just somewhere you stayed for the night.
Disclaimer - it’s an island, you cannot be so fussy to complain about bugs incests or the occasional power outage. You are in the middle of no where and cleanliness isn’t always 110%. The hotel only has 7 rooms and when we stayed some nights only 3 guests.
For us, the room was great bed comfy , 2/3 showers were hot and powerful. The hairdryer provided was strong and our wifi connection was always good. My UK GHDs worked without issue along with all our charging needs. The tv in room was smart with YouTube and apps available. Room wasn’t large enough to unpack properly and no full length mirror.
Fridge in the room is best we ever had super cold but you have to stock it there is no vending machine, water available or even tea or coffee so go to the shops in town before arriving for stock of everything
The hotel isn’t accessible if you have low mobility I wouldn’t recommend. You can walk into town in about 10m on the mud track but it’s not a stroll it’s a hike and depending on the tide you have to paddle in water 1-2 times before reaching. Check in/ check out boat was provided free of charge but late both times despite communication then on both occasions my husband himself had to haul our luggage up & down the 6 flights of stairs then into/ off the boats on the pier etc.
Boat also provided FOC for the evening albeit on time or not.
Overall biggest improvement suggestion would be for the communal area and to create a hub for guests to enjoy drinks dinner breakfast. The area is unclean and staff or locals just seem to hang about there, the guest defiantly doesn’t feel priority. Cutlery is filthy and barely any drinks on offer. For breakfast there is 1 type of cheese 1 type of sliced meet some egg and rolls 1 type of granola.

The property is in a spectacular location. Close enough to Abraão (about 15mins by foot along the coast) but secluded from the main bay. Its peaceful and quiet. The hotel arranges speedboats to take you to the town from 6-10pm if you prefer not to do the trail by night.
The highlight of this place are the views. All rooms have a fantastic view over the mountain range and sea.
People are extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.
Breakfast could be better and the room could benefit from some additional wardrobe space. However I would still recommend it.

The view from the rooms. The staff. The breakfast. The homely feel of the hotel and the free transfer, both from the boat and to the town each night. The hotel overall is lovely and we would definitely come back.
The rooms could have had a bit more attention to detail. Lacked basic appliances such as a hair dryer. Would be nice to have a toilet at reception when it is too early for check in and travelled four hours to the hotel

Hotel in a peaceful location with great views from bedroom.
Had to relocate to a different hotel after 1 night due to no water supply for the remaining of our stay.
Lack of privacy on the bottom bedroom as the public island walkway is directly infront of the room and an unlocked gate to the communal area.
Very small room so unable to unpack belongs or have little space for luggage.
Amenities very poor for an expensive hotel.
Communication with staff slow.
Boat to the harbour very sporadic and late.

Everything. Breakfast was amazing , homemade and with fresh food. The view of the room is incredible , the private terrasse is stunning. I liked to be a bit far away from the village and have a small walk of 15 min to go to the village. The staff is lovely, always there to help you with anything.

The only positive of this location is the staff, very kind and speak decent English and the view.
First of all we were trying to organize our arrival on the island from Rio and it took them several days to reply to our messages, several calls and email. We literally contacted them on every platform and they came back few hours before the check in when we were on our way to the island.
We arrived and we find a room dirty, stinky with mold, and the bathroom with sewage stink.
We complained with booking because for the price that you pay (USD 200+) a night is just outrageous.
I have pasted the pictures on how the room really looks like. Dirty, moldy and stinky. They do not even provide you with hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner.

Location is amazingly beautiful, no words to describe the feeling of waking up in the morning and stare at the ocean, of hearing the waves. Staff is also great, super friendly and helpful! Great location!

We really loved the view, the staff’s helpfulness in booking trips and communicating information about the island. The breakfast in the morning was filling and delicious, especially the ham and cheese bread. The property was clean and provided everything we needed. Staff were so kind and sweet.
we loved everything.

it felt like staying on a desert island: the structure is isolated but not hard to reach, and staff made us feel like at home!
basically all was perfect, if we really want to be nitpicking the isolation of the rooms is very low due to the fact that they are giant Windows, but this means falling asleep with the sound of waves and waking up with birds chirping. what a problem :)

Excellent and attentive staff - Stephany, Stella and the entire team were wonderful and they gave us a lot of good recommendations. Compared to other hotel experiences in Brazil, the breakfast was very delicious as well as dinner (loved the homemade Burger and Fish stew).
The hotel is a bit outside of the town Abraao, hence it was really quiet and peaceful which we liked! The walk to town only takes approx. 15min through a well marked path and it’s absolutely doable (even after a few Caipirinhas at night).
The room is rather small and there is not much space for storage but we only stayed 4 nights ant it was ok. Also you should like each other because the bed is also rather small (I’d guess 1.40m) - we were friends and would go for twin beds next time but not even sure if this would be an option.

- Great view, nice terrace
- Great breakfast (also with a view)
- Wonderful staff, English speaking, helpful in case of problems
- Private location
- Bathroom very small with no storage boards, toilet with little flushing power
- Room is small and not too cozy for longer stays (e.g. hot tub takes a lot of space)
- This is in the outdoors and remote so there are insects inside and water can be yellowish

Everything was amazing. Excellent location and see view. The place is always very clean. Plants and nature everywhere. Amazing breakfast. Last, Stela and the rest of the staff are all very kind, polite and lovely. We will miss the place! And Panda ❤️

Our stay at Pedro Rei was fantastic. The hosts (Stella and Stefanie) were incredibly attentive, helpful and polite. The rooms were in great condition and very clean, with fantastic views. We would be very happy to go back.
The only points that could be improved are having a deck to facilitate boarding the boats and a restaurant/bar onsite as, while the village is only a 15-20 min walk away, the pathway is dark and not very comfortable at night.

It’s absolutely stunning - the location is beautiful, the view incredible and everything was fabulously organised. The team went above and beyond to make it a total delight.
A lamp by the bed would be good as currently it’s only overhead lighting or nothing. Ideally a drawer for storage, but that’s very minor.

We spent an amazing 4 days at Pedro Rei. With its convenient location (a few minutes walk from Abraao) and its sober yet modern architecture, this charming housing has it all : a breathtaking view from the rooms and breakfast room, comfortable beds and facilities as well as very friendly and welcoming hosts (A big thank you to all of them, especially Stephany and Stella).
If you go to ilha grande, i would strongly recommend to stay at pedro rei.

great rooms with amazing views and staff that go out of their way to help you organise transfers and excursions.
it’s about a 15 minute walk into town each way but can’t really say that’s a negative as it also means you get peace and quiet and a beautiful secluded place to stay in!

The location is superb. Not only the island is beautiful but the pousada is nicely located 500 m from the village and the architecture is amazing. The staff Stella, Stephany and the others are very nice persons, not only good professionals but also very friendly. They knew everything you should know when visting Ilha Grande. They were also available for amazing disucssions. It was definitely a fantastic stay in Ilha Grande.

the location is slightly further away from town - this was perfect for us! very quiet, peaceful and beautiful views
my only suggestion would be in the further to have a small pool and some more sun loungers - although with the sea so close, maybe it’s not necessary for most guests
