Perfect guesthouse and host in the rustic charm of Araçatiba

This guesthouse is the perfect spot for a peaceful and relaxing few days on Ilha Grande. Away from the crowds of Abrãao, Ademilson's guesthouse in Araçatiba offers a beautiful escape and immersion into island life. For a very reasonable price you get a room that is clean, well-equipped and has a traditional, rustic feel to it, which suits the surroundings perfectly. The mattresses are particularly comfy - we slept very well every night we were there. Every morning an excellent spread of cheese, meat, bread, fruits, juices and coffee was laid out for us by our excellent host Ademilson. Laid back, friendly and very hospitable, no favour was too big or too small: Ademilson was always happy to help. He gave us many tips about the island, snorkelling masks to use (for free) every day we were there, we also organised a boat trip around the island with his son Daniel. We felt so relaxed and comfortable there than we changed our itinerary and stayed twice as long as we originally planned. Five minutes walk from Ademilson's guesthouse is Araçatibinha beach, where you can snorkel with sea turtles. Right opposite is an equally welcoming family-run restaurant (Aloha) which serves up an affordable and freshly made prato feito for lunch or dinner. Drop-off and pick-up from the pier right by the guesthouse made transport to and from Angra dos Reis very easy.

Gorgeous views and friendly hosts

The location was excellent and easy to get to from Angra dos Reis. The pousada was beautiful and great value for money. Our room had a lovely balcony and hammock that had gorgeous views. Magdalena and Ademilson were kind and generous hosts and so helpful. The breakfast was yummy and they were there if we had any questions.

The WiFi can be unstable but that is understandable because it is a remote island

excelente viaje y excelente estadía

el desayuno fue muy bueno todos los días. Ademilson (el anfitrión) es una excelente persona y vale la pena reiterar la estadía. La atención puesta en nosotros y en todas las personas que fueron a la posada fue EXCELENTE!! Incluso nos ha invitado todos los días con algo distinto y el trato fue casi de familia. EXCELENTE TODO!! Muchas gtacias Ademilson, su señora y todo el personal que allí trabaja

Los cortes de luz habituales en la Isla se superaron con el generador eléctrico. No contaba con la humedad de la Isla, dado que había llovido 14 días seguidos, pero la verdad es que todo se supera si vas con la cabeza despejada a disfrutar del lugar. Lo único que hay que tener cuidado es que las trilhas (caminos bordeadores de la isla o playas) se ponen inseguros si van con sandalias. Hay que ir tb con zapatillas para no tener resbalones en los senderos. (si la idea es caminar para ir a otra playa). Tanto Aracatiba como Aracatibinha son excelentes playas y se pueden observar peces y tortugas. Quizás hasta algún delfin

Ein Traum!

Ademilson und seine Kolleginnen haben uns bestens willkommen geheißen und umsorgt. Ademilson hat uns vorab schon kontaktiert und Infos über die Boote zur Insel gegeben, was sehr hilfreich war. Das Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich mit einem Balkon mit wundervoller Aussicht auf das Meer und einer Hängematte. Es war ein Traum! Zum Frühstück gab es frische Früchte und vieles mehr. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen die Poussada Popeye allen weiter!

Hermosa estadía

El cuarto daba vista al mar. Muy limpio todo y con baño amplio. Ventilador y aire. Luminoso y espacioso. Decidimos quedarnos un día más por toda la atención y lo maravilloso de la isla. El desayuno de Magdalena es muy rico y generoso. La atención de Ademilson es única y muy cálida. nos prestaron las máscaras de snorkel y cambiaron la ropa de cama a la mitad de la estadía. Sin dudas recomendamos y volveríamos a elegir pousada popeye. Graciassss
