The best time at the best place

Marcos and the team did a great job making our stay great. The transfer, the accommodations, the food were all great even if it was a bit rainy! Make sure you follow his advice and hike the trails to other beaches. You can catch a boat home but my spouse wouldn’t let us😂

Good place to stay on Ilha Grande

The staff was so friendly and helpful! The family room is rather cozy but yet comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed our stay, you really are made to feel welcome. The staff greet you at the beach and carry your luggage to your room and give you a glass of water. Really the best part of this place is their hospitality. The beds are comfortable, the place is clean and the breakfast was tasty.

Absolutely perfect!

Had a wonderful time at pousada tropical in Araçatiba! Close to the beach, nice rooms, and a very nice buffet. The coconut cake was to die for, absolutely delicious! The staff was wonderful! They really made my stay all the more magical. As i was there alone they were always there for a chat and even took me with them to dinner in the evening! I met them as staff, and am happy to call them friends by the end of my stay! Thank you very much to this wonderful team!

Paradise

After a few hectic days in busy Rio, we were looking for a peaceful escape on Ilha Grande—somewhere away from the crowds. Araçatiba turned out to be the perfect spot. This charming little village with its beautiful beach made us feel like we had the place almost to ourselves. Pousada Tropical was a great choice. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning and a nice bed—everything we needed for a relaxing stay. But what really made the difference was the wonderful staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, giving us great tips and always willing to assist. One of the highlights was their thoughtfulness. On our last day, we had to catch an early boat, and they made sure we had breakfast prepared in advance so we could take something with us. That kind of care and hospitality made our stay even more special. If you’re looking for a quiet, authentic experience on Ilha Grande, away from the tourist crowds, Pousada Tropical Araçatiba is an excellent choice. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely return!

Super helpful and friendly staff - even helped me with info how to get to and from the island. I don't speak Portugese and the staff made an effort to use translater to communicate in English before arrival. Would definitely recommend!

Superb

Breakfast is delicious and has a lot of variety. Andrade the owner is always available to arrange tours and transfers from the port. Poussada is 2 minutes from the beach and is equipped with everything to relax (pool, hammock). We had a lovely stay.

Paradise

My stay was excellent. Andrade and his team are so welcoming it is incredible. I got a very heavy sunburn the other day and it was impossible to get to get lotion on the island. Andrade organized some from the mainland for me putting it on my tap. He also helped me very much in organizing my bus ticket to São Paulo. Andrade is always in a good mood and cares deeply for his guests. You’ll start to smile in the morning once you hear his signature laugh. The food is very tasty and as everywhere in Brazil plentiful. Although the property is not beachfront it just takes 2 minutes going down. Everything is kept clean. It is really super.

Nothing bad to say about the property or the team but you should be aware you’ll be staying on an island without much infrastructure. So wifi might be slow or gone from time to time. Also you will not get everything there (lotion in my case) and if in the evening the mosquitoes in the common area might eat you alive. But again nothing you blame on the property but comes with visiting this paradise.

A place to remember for a long time

- Amazing host, who treats their guests like queens and kings and will give you a lot of recommendations on what to do around - The host organized private transfer for us for a fair price (Rio x Ilha Grande, Ilha Grande x Paraty and Paraty x Rio) and day boat trips around the island (we visited Lopes Mendes, Lagoa Azul, Islas Botinas and some more beaches - all worth visiting, the most beautiful is Lopes Mendes) - Great breakfasts & possibility to buy lunch/dinner at the restaurant (mostly fish, meat) - Close to the beach (1-2 min walking) - Aracatiba, the place where pousada is located, is a very serene and remote place. Not much happening there - no nightlife, just peace and quiet (it’s far from Abraao, the main village in the island which is more noisy and more is happening there) - Simple rooms, but comfortable beds - Nice garden to chill in the hammocks - Very clean, both the rooms and outdoors

Like paradise, fabulous people and wonderful scenery

We had an extraordinary stay with Andrade! He has been an incredibly great help and has been so great and supportive in organizing our transfer to the island! He is always there for his guests and helps where he can. The breakfast is just as fantastic and leaves nothing to be desired with various freshly squeezed juices, cakes and different type of bread. The location of the accommodation is just as fabulous! The village is small, the beach only 3 minutes walk away and we were actually always almost alone on the beach. Other beaches are in the immediate vicinity and can be reached on foot. PS: We made the mistake of booking a transfer in advance to the wrong side of the island. Andrade helped us organize a transfer directly to the beach, as well as canceling the other transfer. Best to check with Andrade in advance before booking a ferry.

This place feels like paradise. Simple but very nice room. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. Andrade made everything perfect for us, despite us not speaking portuguese. Many many thanks, Ilha Grande and the pousada will remain the highlight of our Brazil trip !

The whole atmosphere in this pousada was very very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful, very good breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, and dinners were also super nice. They also helped to arrange travel and boat trips. Would definitely come back!

If anything, then it was a little bit difficult to communicate as we didn't speak Portuguese. On the positive the communication via Whatsapp was good and easy.

J’ai aimé l’aide apportée pour y aller et en repartir, le personnel de l’hôtel dont Gustavo, le petit déjeuner, l’étendoir pour vêtements, la plage juste à côté, le restaurant

Lugar tranquilo para descansar

A hospitalidade com que nos receberam, foi maravilhosa. Todos nos atenderam sempre com muito carinho e sorriso no rosto. Amei a pousada, o café da manhã e o atendimento dos funcionários. Elas dão dicas de lugares pra comer e ajudam a escolher os melhores passeios. Viajamos com nosso filho de 2 anos e foi tudo tranquilo.

Nada que não tenha gostado. Só uma sugestão de talvez o café da manhã ser um pouquinho mais cedo. Pra quem acorda muito cedo aguardar até as 8hs, nem sempre é fácil kkkk. Mais não é uma crítica.

Minha estadia foi agradável e surpreendente pois fomos muito bem recebidos e acomodados

Incrívelmente perto da praia, só descer uma escadinha literalmente! Acomodação é muito limpa, possui piscina , tem como limpar os pés e chinelos após a praia antes de entrar nos quartos o que ajuda muito é local para secar as roupas molhadas , os banheiros tem insumos como sabonete líquido e shampoo condicionante as toalhas são super novinhas e roupas de cama ótimas além de disponibilizar toalhas para praia, hospitalidade incrível , nos receberam ajudaram com lugares para visitarmos além de serem sempre muito solícitos e dispostos a ajudar , local também disponibiliza jogos para os hóspedes como uno e baralho que você pode solicitar na recepção tem local para desfazer as malas o que facilita bastante a organização, os quartos tem ar-condicionado e TV além de ter opção de almoço e jantar que além de bem servido é muito gostoso .
