You’ll be in a brazilian paradise, so relax and enjoy the island vibe.

Mara was super attentive and we received all the important information before our stay.

Probably it would be better to get the information about the island ( carring a backpack, snorkeling gear, flashlike) 1 month in advance, in order to be able to pack accordingly

Hidden gem with amazing views

Views from the balcony into the bay were magical. Staff was extremely helpful in organising excursions and booking transport to/from mainland. Breakfast was great every morning. The nature at Pousada Lagamar is stunning, would recommend paying extra for water view rooms, it make us feel like we are sleeping in a tree house. Plenty (aka 3) of food options on the beach, which was surprising considering it felt like it was a desert island just for us (in the most magical way).

Not a criticism but info: Bear in mind the Pousada is in the middle of the forest, good 10 min walk away uphill from the jetty on the beach. They will organise someone to help you with bags, make sure you have cash to help them. Wear comfy shoes as it's uphill in limited light.

Nice location, higher costs than average.

The location is very secluded and peaceful! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room didn't look like the one from the pictures, that we thought we had booked. We thought the room we paid for was overpriced. We had previously stayed elsewhere on the island for 60% of the price and the room and breakfast were nicer. It was a shame because it was the stop I was most looking forward to! Breakfast at Pousada Lagamar was OK, but the fruit should be covered, if possible, as they had lots of flies on which put us off. Also to future guests, you should be prepared for limited options for dinner and at a higher cost.

It is decorated in a natural way down to the smallest details, for people, nature and animals, ... the fresh flowers on the breakfast buffet, .. The location is breathtaking. We saw the monkeys after breakfast. Hopefully one day I will come back to Ilha Grande and then it will definitely be in Pousada Lagamar. Don't hesitate, make a reservation

Amazing!

This place was one of the best places I've ever been in my life. If I could give it a 20 out of 10 I would. Room and view were absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Location was incredible, as there were lots of options (hikes, tours, beaches) for things to do. Isabel was extremely friendly and helpful regarding information about the island. Breakfasts were delicious in a beautiful setting. We really hope to be able to return some day.

Difficult to know what to start with, the place having so much to offer. First, it is incredibly comfortable considering the remote location it is built in. You will love the quietness and the disconnection offered, literally, since the wifi is only available at the main bit. If you are lucky, you will admire monkeys or porcupines having dinner. Breakfast is also amazing and various in an idyllic environment.

beautiful location, up in the jungle.

we found the room for two adults was a little small for two adults and in the “less nice” area of the hotel (the trees cover the view). the bathroom was also very basic and smelled a tiny bit of sewage. the room without AC made it very damp so our clothes were still wet for a few days after putting to dry. for a couple recommend getting the “3 bed” room ! they looked far superior

excellent views, lovely staff who would go the extra mile for you. Rooms cleaned daily, locations is very well placed for chilling out.

very damp in the rooms, however if you open the window you get bit constantly, would recommend nets on the windows and doors. far away from most points so you need the good weather or a lot of money for sea taxis. paths to rooms are slippy, nothing ever seems to dry due to humidity.

Paradise! Highlight of my trip

The location here is amazing if you're looking to be hidden away in nature. The beach is almost deserted and like paradise The view from the balcony with a hammock is divine Staff were very helpful with organizing transportation. Lovely place to have breakfast. They helped with luggage when we arrived by boat. One of my highlights of the whole trip

Just to warn you, it's quite a difficult walk up to the property from the beach. Not a fault of the place, just giving advice. At breakfast I would suggest offering eggs. Also the fruit needs covering because of the insects.

The place is just beautiful. The pousada is surrounded by, and immersed in, the Atlantic forest, with incredible view of the sea. The surrounding nature is stunning. The staff could not be kinder and more helpful. Highly recommend to anyone who visits Ilha Grande.

Paradise on earth with a friendly family

The owners were very charming, useful and kind, helping me to feel at home and navigate across the island. travelling solo, it’s always nice to have somebody to talk to and I felt like they also enjoyed the conversation. And location is amazing! Hiking around the West coast, in the middle of a jungle … so clean, so natural, such a little damage from humans!!! Don’t expect crowds, handcraft markets and all sort of beach services. Don’t expect a great room full of facilities and a great decoration. Please expect a simple life in the middle of the jungle, in a hidden Pousada 5m’ walking from the beach, and be ready to experience calm, nature, great humans and tasty food

Perfect for a complete Nature-Immersion

Amazing location for whomever likes taking in Nature to its fullest, 5min away from the town center, where you can get basic survival things and good food. The staff, especially Luciana and Ezequiel, were very helpful and thoughtful and always with a smile.

Sadly the room was not the cleanest we have ever seen, there were very small animal/insect marks on the bed, but knowing that it is a place in the middle of the jungle and that this is kind of part of it we didn't mind more than that. When smelling the sheets and towels they smelled nice and clean, but some small stains were visible.

Wunderschön!

Eine der schönsten Unterkünfte, in der ich je war. Nichts als Natur drum herum. Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man auf der Suche nach Ruhe ist.

Das Frühstück ist eher basic und auch die Zimmer sind nichts Außergewöhnliches. Es sind viel mehr die Umgebung und die Hängematte auf dem Balkon, die alles so wunderschön machen :)
