Beautiful, peaceful and amazing

A unique and peaceful location, but many key details were not specified

- Fabiana and Leonardo are very friendly hosts. If you love animals, you’ll be delighted – they have quite a few. - The accommodation is spacious and perfect for those looking to truly disconnect – it sits just above a small, secluded beach, about a 15–20-minute walk from Aratiçiba beach. - In addition to the included breakfast, it’s also possible to dine on-site. The meals are delicious and lovingly prepared. - The view from both the room’s balcony and the dining area is stunning. - The house is close to the beautiful Lagoa Verde (accessible only by boat). - There are also several beautiful hiking trails nearby, ranging from moderate to challenging.

However, a number of important details – which should have been mentioned in the advert – affected the overall quality of our stay: - While the place is indeed great for disconnecting, it is absolutely inaccessible for people with reduced mobility – you must climb 70 steep steps to reach the house. This was not specified in the advert. - Although Fabiana’s meals were good, they were also very expensive: she charged us R$160 per day per person (about €25) for a dinner consisting of a single dish (no starter or dessert). Given that Fabiana asked us what we did for a living (specifically if we were students), that these prices were not mentioned anywhere beforehand and only revealed at check-out, and that we were the only guests during low season, we felt the prices were arbitrarily set based on the guest. - The location is quite remote – far from Abraão and about 15–20 minutes from Aratiçiba beach (the trail is steep and rugged, though beautiful – it’s just something to be aware of). While the remoteness has its charm, it also entails significant transportation costs, as taxi boats are expensive. You can go through Leonardo for this: we paid R$375 per person (around €60) for a round trip between the pousada and Angra dos Reis. Leonardo also offers excursions around the island – we paid R$500 per person (around €78) for a one-day tour. It's worth noting that during this excursion, Leonardo left us for 40 minutes on a small island with no activities (except a closed church), due to a fuel shortage. Given the price of the tour, we did not expect that. - The accommodation itself, while charming, is rather basic. The mezzanine bed was covered in mold (see photo). - There’s no mosquito net, which is a real downside: you can’t keep the shutters closed at night because they trap the heat, and we were bitten by mosquitoes every single night. - The accommodation isn’t very secure either. It doesn’t lock with a key – just basic shutter latches – and there’s no safe.

an authentic stay in rainforest on a real tropical island

we very much enjoyed every minute of our stay, it was most authentic, a lovely view of a deserted beach at breakfast, great walks through rainforest to nearby beaches and lagoons with tropical fish, occasional tropical rain non stop through the night - this is why it is called rainforest - and superb dinners cooked by our hostess, who is a master chef.

Exceptional

We had 4 fantastic days, Fabiana and Leo are welcoming and very nice people, the resort is immersed in the green forest with sea view and you can admire the sunset.We spend few days with Leo on he's boat going around the island which he obviously knows very well.It was Amazing.Fabiana food was absolutely yummy, We felt at home from day 1.Thank you guys. Xxx

Paradise

This hotel is a little paradise! The hosts Fabiana and Leonardo were so nice that it felt like home. The beach is right there, very beautiful and mostly empty. Fabiana speaks English and cooks delicious dinners. Leo can take you to lots of beautiful beaches on his boat. Highly recommend!

Relaxing, peaceful, delicious food

Great location (amazing sunsets!!), peaceful and lots of birds to observe. There are some nice walking trails, snorkelling is good and there are some good places to eat nearby. However Fabiana cooks the most delicious meals. Herself and Leonardo are great hosts! Ilha Grande was a highlight of our trip and we hope to be back!

Ideal para descansar y disfrutar de la naturaleza y comer muy rico

Estuvimos por cuatro noches con Fabiana y Leo en casa de shonos y la pasamos muy muy bien. El lugar es muy tranquilo con una vista hermosa desde la hamaca. Hay muchas plantas lindas y el lugar es ideal para descansar. La comida de Fabiana es un sueño, es tan rico que solo quieres comer allí. Salimos con Leo en la lancha para conocer la isla y lo pasamos muy bien. Muchas gracias por todo

Peace and paradise

La Pousada est extrêmement bien placée au calme, à quelques marches d’une plage magnifique et à 15min de la plage Araçatiba. Leonardo et Fabiana nous ont extrêmement accueillis et proposent un très bon dîner sur place ainsi que des excursions en bateau. La chambre est propre, bien équipé avec une vue imprenable sur la mer.

Tranquilidade e lindas praias

A Fabiana é sensacional faz você se sentir em casa. Os apartamentos são amplos e o banheiro também. Lá você se sente mais perto da natureza. Sem falar da vista do café da manhã para praia de cachoeira, sensacional!! No quarto tem um deck com vista para o mar com um incrível por do sol. O Leo faz passeios para as principais praias, então não precisa se preocupar. Não achamos falando muito sobre Araçatiba, é um lugar incrível.. muito falam sobre Abrahão, mas Araçatiba é uma experiência totalmente diferente, vale a pena conhecer. Muitos gringos, principalmente franceses e argentinos na área.

Não tem nada que nos desagradou, mas queríamos ter lido mais sobre o local e não achamos.. então aqui vai: A praia da cachoeira (onde fica a pousada) é um local bem exclusivo (só tem outro hotel chamado cais da ilha). Mesmo no carnaval a praia tinha pouca gente, não tem barracas, vendedores. Então se você ama a natuteza, mergulhar, esse é o local para você. Lá fica distante de mercados e pizzarias, mas a Fabiana serve almoço caso queiram. Para ter acesso a praia de araçatiba, por exemplo, onde tem mais mercados, lanchonetes e etc são uns 15 minutos caminhando por trilha, com subidas, degraus. Então depende do seu estilo de viagem. A noite é uma tranquilidade, sem badalação. É importante saber disso para ter uma estadia agradável. No mais, Ilha grande.. já quero voltar :) Linda demais
