Great Place to Base for a few days to Explore the Isle of Skye

The breakfasts was really good. Parking was easy and very handy. The hosts were very friendly and helped make our stay pleasant. Beds were very comfy. Very handy to Portree itself.

The room was a little small, with not quite enough space to put luggage. The room heater was set a bit warm the first night (I think they overcompensated for the near freezing temperature outside). However, once we mentioned it the next morning they adjusted the setting and we slept better the 2nd night

Lovely home with very smart layout, extremely clean and excellent location.

Breakfast was amazing, simple and very authentic. You could feel the love and care put into it. Facilities were extremely clean and very compact. The property managers/owners were charming.

I did feel like it was a b&b where I had to mince around a little because of how clean and quiet it was (floorboards do creak), and the walls can be rather thin with guests in the other rooms. You absolutely cannot eat anything messy or soupy in the rooms (rules) but I also felt there wasn't a common space to do so if I brought back food.

Wonderful stay in Portree!

We loved our stay at Taigh Duitseach. Cosy, comfortable and well appointed room with a great view across the bay. Friendly and helpful hosts who also provided excellent breakfasts. The hotel is only a short walk to the centre of Portree and all restaurants and shops. A perfect base for exploring the wonders of Isle Of Skye!

The room was quite small but this didn't impact our enjoyment.

The room was extremely spacious and clean. It had a huge wardrobe and sofa with coffee table, below a window with a great view of the water. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Lastly, the owners were absolutely lovely. Would stay here again and recommend family and friends to stay here!!

Perfect stay

I had a great experience at Taigh Duitseach. Jim and Pauline were very welcoming and the property itself is fantastic. My room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. I loved the little touches such as the Highland Cow shaped shortbread. It's a short walk into the centre of Portree along a path with great views. The breakfast was fantastic too. Can't wait to come back!

A nice stay!

The breakfast was delicious with many hot items to choose from. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. It was a short walk into town to the restaurants.

It would have been nice to have a USB port, unless we just missed seeing it.

Great stay, lovely people, would stay again

Breakfast was a great choice of continental and cooked. It was a 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Portree and the suite was lovely. Lots of parking and private entrance meant we didn't disturb anyone else

Towels were small. Breakfast being set up in the next room meant one of the bedrooms could hear the noise of setting up from 7am. Bathroom was off one bedroom so anyone staying in the other room needs to go through a bedroom to get to the bathroom.

Definitely enjoyed our stay!

The room and facilities were spotless. The service and breakfast buffet was delightful. Parking was easy as was the walk into town.

The road traffic was a little noisy in the early evening but nothing over night. It did not disturb our sleep. We appreciated the host offering to keep our cooler pack in the freezer as we understand the facility is not self catering.

Location was perfect for walking into town. Property was very clean and modern, plenty of parking. Jim and Pauline were excellent hosts, and every morning we looked forward to their delicious breakfasts.

A pleasant place to stay in central Skye with good hosts.

The size of the two bed apartment and location on the edge of the town. The range of breakfast foods was very good.

Preferred to have a small fridge for keeping drinks cool. Lack of good quality restaurants in the town that were not fully booked up each night,

Clean and okay for an overnight

Very clean, reasonably close to Portree centre.

Absolutely no interaction with the 'host'. Here's your key, that's your room, breakfast 8 til 9. No 'hospitality' at all. Nowhere to meet with other guests or sit and relax in the evening. Notice in room said under no circumstances take away food in room - so there is nowhere else to go but out. Sterile and not what we would expect from a Sky b and b.
