Incredibly comfortable and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were a great size / had everything we needed. Really liked the modern take on traditional decor. Plenty of parking and good walking distance to the town centre.
I wished the cat had been more engaging ;)

Great, welcoming staff and a lovely feel to the place. Great open fire in the lounge / restaurant. Very comfortable bed and lovely room.
It was low season, but very limited bar opening times (5pm-8pm) and restaurant availability. No milk or water in the room (could get milk from the bar, but would then be sat in my room from 8pm until my morning coffee), little “tubes” of milk like you find in other hotels would have been fine. But none of this spoiled my stay.

The Syke Inn was excellent! Well priced and with a great location within walking distance to portree square. The parking was great. The room was very comfortable, The bathroom was a great size with an excellent shower. The whole place was very clean and the decor qwirky which we enjoyed. Breakfast was excellent for a good day out walking. The staff were incredibly friendly, very helpful. We contacted before arrival asking for 2 single beds which were excellent in the room. Very comfortable.
The roads on approach to the hotel are a little bumpy due to weather and deteriation. Just drive slow. The walls are a little thin and you can hear next doors shower, which acted as a great alarm to wake us up for breakfast.

All staff were so pleasant, helpful and informative. They went beyond what would normally be expected. Breakfast was lovely. Really well cooked and a wide variety. The dinner was delicious - again beautifully cooked, well presented with good choice. The menu was modern, taking note of latest nutritional information.
The bedroom was warm, very clean, with a tin of homemade shortbread, a variety of teas, coffee and hot chocolate.

The inn
I’m actually so frustrated. We just spent €140 Pounds here and I feel like I’ve been scammed. We were served chicken and beans—a dish that was completely average and something I could’ve made better at home for €20
For nearly €150, you expect to be blown away, but this was just boring. It’s a huge amount of money to drop on a "mediocre" meal, and the value for money is non-existent. I left feeling hungry and annoyed. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects your wallet. Never again.

The location was good, a short walk from the centre of Portree. There was plenty of parking too, which can be an issue, in the town centre.
The cooked traditional Scottish breakfast was lovely too, I just wish the portion had been a bit larger (it's ordered then served to you, not a buffet) but was tasty and the young serving staff were efficient and polite.
The room and whole hotel, were smart and clean. I wish I'd stayed longer!
No issues.

We loved the beds & duvets we're thick & warm. Beds felt super comfortable ie no feeling springs. The tv had Netflix which was much appreciated because alot of hotels don't have this. Staff were beyond amazing. Smiling helpful polite oh they were lovely.
Breakfast was cheap low quality unfortunately. Barely any mushrooms which were sliced very thinly. I prefer button mushrooms. Halved is fine too but not sliced then have a tiny portion. The beans were home made. I git such a tiny portion it was just silly. The beans were dry like as if overdone in a microwave thry were clumpy dry. Tasted rather strange. I prefer canned beans. Anyway the price was good so obviously the food has to be lower quality to make it cheaper for them in low season so I do understand tbf.

Had a really good time at the skye inn I would recommend it to anyone because it was very easy to get to portree town which was central to everything i went to portree for.
The taxis were very few and far between.

Heating wasn’t working, got a portable heater after complaining. Bathroom still cold and had a musty smell

Location and parking was great. Bed was excellent. Staff were excellent, polite and helpful. Break was very good.
No restaurant for our stay. Little containers of milk in the room would have been a nice touch along with a welcome biscuit. No mini fridge.

location
room size, facilities really bad - squeaking floor, very poor sound insulation as the peeing sound from the next room can be heard very clearly. no facial tissues, no dust bin in the room, just a bin in the bathroom. no place to put your washing stuffs like toothpaste or washing cream. doors of shower room unable to close properly. two little cookies in a tin-box, you can tell from the shape that one has lost a bite on it, no staff noticed that when they made the cleaning before we checked in. it's a lazy, careless hotel but charge no less than others.

The room was clean and cozy. I loved the breakfast. The hotel was close to the main hub of Portree. The little tin of buttery soft cookies (American word for it) was a special touch.
3.0 / 10.0
The room is around 20sqm, and you can park your car very close to your room.
Far to walk to the Portree center. No facial tissues. Forcing to checkout at 10am is unpleasant, just like what a cheap hostel does. There is nothing good in the hotel to hear or to see, or something worth to share. Breakfast has to be ordered, and the coffee was not good at all. You don't feel there are any staff in the hotel, Overall, this hotel is far below the price.
Find another one if possible.

We dined in the hotel , the food was very good and the service was also very good
after diner there is no seperate lounge area, which was a little inconvenient, only a small gripe.

Good location
The toilet kept running throughout the night no matter what we did. It was quite noisy and disrupted our sleep.
The breakfast service left a lot to be desired. The staff consistently forgot part of the order and it was difficult to get refills on coffee.

Excellent full Scottish breakfast in the morning. Staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Rooms and linens were bright and clean.
Carpeting was old and rooms were slightly dated.
8.0 / 10.0
The staff were friendly from the first contact. Our rooms, though compact, were clean and well-maintained with nice touches. The restaurant was the highlight. They serve authentic Scottish cuisine, although the staff were a bit overwhelmed with guests. A good choice for travelers who value authentic food and cleanliness over room spaciousness.

cute room with a very kind staff and a nice lobby/pub to sit in during the day or evening.
the shower wasn’t very comfortable and with weak water current, also they did not clean our room during our stay.

This is our second stay at The Skye Inn, in Portree. The location is great, at the edge of town. The Inn staff is very friendly and will assist you with any need. The evening dining and the breakfast was some of the best food during our entire trip.
There is plenty of secure parking at the Inn.
Having to leave all too soon, and we stayed for three days.

The Inn was convenient to town (Portree) and to the outdoor activities we were interested in (e.g., hiking the Quiriang). Wait and bar staff especially were friendly and breakfast was good.
Room was extremely small - barely enough room to open the suitcase on its rack and skirt around the bed. There were multiple times when the front desk was empty (during regular hours) - there were some staff hanging around, but they appeared to be only trained for kitchen/serving/bar, with only one person who could actually help with room issues, check-in, etc. Some cross-training of staff and back-ups to man the desk when the desk clerk was servicing rooms or otherwise away from the service point would be advisable. We noticed several other patrons waiting around the desk looking confused or asking where the staff was because there was no one around to help them.

The welcome we received at check in was so friendly.
The room was very nice and access to my car in the car park was amazing joy.
Close to town and just a lovely location.
Breakfast was beautiful.
Can’t think of anything to complain about.

Hotel was lovely, very bright and welcoming. Bedroom and en suite very comfortable and clean. It was our first trip to a hotel with our dogs but they were welcomed and staff were great. Lovely breakfast which we ate in the room as we chose not to take the dogs to the dining area.
Our room was a little on the small side as we brought our 2 collies with us, however we managed and loved our short stay. False fire alarm went off in the morning, we didn’t know where the designated fire point was but we went out front with the dogs and all returned quickly to our room.

The location was very central and within walking distance to Portree and various shops. The room itself was spotlessly clean and has just been refurbished (a new shower had been installed). The full Scottish breakfast was superb. The staff were incredibly helpful and cheery and the service was very quick. A major well done. Plus, we travelled with our dog and it was a really dog friendly environment. Sausages for the dog in the morning and water topped up when required! We'd definitely return and recommend the place for other travellers. It was a pleasure staying here for a few days.
The food in the evening was way overpriced for what was effectively pub food (£30 for three courses).
