It was perfect

The property management was in continuous touch to help in every step also providing various details in advance about Portree. The room was very good quite clean and well maintained and the location is the heart of the town 2 minutes walk to most of the town shops and parking info was well provided in advance. It was a great experience staying there.

AVOID!! Worst place I have ever stayed. My wife and I had a terrible experience at these guest rooms. We arrived to find scaffolding outside our room but we were not informed of this before arriving. Noisy workmen worked outside on the scaffolding all day and so we had to close the cheap bedroom curtains during the day as they could see into our bedroom. We had some important calls to make from our room which was very difficult with the noise and complete lack of privacy. The toilet window had no blind and so the workmen could see right into our toilet. The owner's solution was for the workmen to put a plank of wood over the toilet window. This meant the already dark room became even darker and more dingy. The owner was extremely hostile and refused to ask the workmen to leave. She refused to answer our phone calls and instead only text. She gave out my husband's mobile to the workmen without his consent which then led to the workmen sending a message to my husband essentially saying we should not expect to use our room during the day. This is despite us paying around £150 per day for the room. The entire experience was really disappointing especially since we love Skye and have stayed many times with no problems. We ended up having to get alternative accommodation due to the workmen threatening to keep working during our entire stay.

Braeside is centrally located in the heart of the sweet downtown Portree. We walked to all the restaurants and shops in town, as well as enjoyed the gorgeous view of the harbor stepping out the door. Check in was super easy with great communication with the owner. Would recommend to anyone. Be prepared for stairs and bills.

Location was excellent, room comfortable and clean.

It would have been nice to have breakfast included but a few nice places to get breakfast nearby.

Braeside is right in the centre of Portree, excellent location for your pick up/drop off and restaurants.

An excellent location, close to the centre of Portree and all amenities. Ruth was an excellent hostess, keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Slightly tricky stairs but no big deal.

The location was great, very close to water and great place for walking. Staff was friendly. Nearby small grocery store and numerous eateries. Very short walk to the place for taking the iconic "Portree" photograph with the pretty colored row of houses across the water.

The room was super small, so it was okay for one night, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay there for longer than that. The stair treads were a bit difficult, typical old triangular treads, so getting luggage up and down stairs was challenging.

Everything was delightful.

The location was great, close to the water and all the downtown square.

The stairway, which we knew was going to be narrow, is narrow indeed. Anyone with mobility or balance concerns should consider alternate accommodations.

Very convenient and quiet, close to a Co-Op grocery, all restaurants, and Somerled Square for buses/tour group meetups. I was in Room 1 and found it especially comfortable. Ruth is a very kind and thoughtful host and I really enjoyed staying there.

bed a bit more small every time when you or others guests use the water pump, a quite large noise come with.

Ruth is a lovely host! In the room you get way more than you expected, like little snacks and all the shampoons in the bathroom. The decoration is lovely and it makes it feel like home. If we return we surely stay there again! The location is great and Portree is surely the best place to stay if you want to explore, coming back to a lovely, warm, cosy, feeling at home place makes the fabulous stay on the Isle of Skye even greater! Because sometimes the rain will make you be stuck in the room, and this is the kind of room you want to be stuck in :) Thank you and keep the great work and I hope people in the future will stop complaining about non-changeable and non sense things like staircase - which is totally fine and even has a nice soft carpet on in and parking which is 20seconds walk away! :)) Kind regards!
