Wonderful stay, great breakfast and walking distance to town

Our stay was lovely. Despite the weather not cooperating, having a comfortable room and such a welcoming host made it a good time.

Fabulous Hospitality and a Wonderful Stay

It was a pleasure to stay at Ballintoy. Gavin, his Mum Dolly, and his lads made me very welcome. The bed was comfy, the space was large and bright, it was super homely and just what I needed after longs days out exploring on Skye.

Very nice host and large room. They offer continental breakfast from 8:00 to 8:45, but city is about 15 min away by foot, where they also have cafes.

You can hear people in the corridor talking very clearly from the rooms.

Very clean, comfortable and warm, modern, homely decor, great value. Friendly and helpful owner, made good recommendations and knows the island well. 5-10min walk to main area in Portree so great location after exploring the island during the day.

The owner was lovely but we felt conscious of timings/avoiding making noise/taking shoes off as it was part of their house, just wanted to flag for others incase this isn’t the sort of stay you’re looking for. We decided against breakfast as no vegan option advertised, plenty of shops/cafes in Portree though.

the room heater was cut off during the night about 2-5am, i'm not sure but i woke up because the weather was super cold and realized that the heater was off. Just this thing...otherwise I will give this place high score of all topics.

Warm and welcoming.

Gillian was a very gracious host, so warm and welcoming. The room was fantastic, well heated, comfortable and impeccably clean. I hadn't originally booked breakfast with our stay but was able to add it on arrival paying cash by the day for the delicious continental breakfast. With a fantastic view of the mountains from the breakfast room. The B&B is only a few minutes walk from the charming town of portree or an even shorter drive. Gillian had contacted us prior to our visit with some local restaurants for dinners which was greatly appreciated and booking in advance is essential as the town is very popular. I would highly recommend this beautiful home for any stay.

The decor was so pretty that i am inspired to replicate some pieces in my own home!

i loved everything about the stay. you know it was a good vacation when you feel super sad to go back to your normal life haha! The host was wonderful and gave us loads of helpful suggestions about the places to visit. She helped us with some amazing breakfast even though we hadn't booked it in advance. Thank you so much! loved the friendliness of our host, the nice room and the excellent shower. you can easily walk into town (and walk up again to the room 😀)

For us, two large dutchies, the bed was too small. the footboard didn’t help with that either.
