Position great and parking great

The family room we booked was in need of updating. It was freezing. Bathroom sink blocked and shower very slow draining so showering was an issue. Booked for 2 nights but left after 1

The location was good, easy to access Portree.

We got locked INSIDE the house 5 mins before our taxi was to pick us up the morning we left. Somebody in one of the other rooms locked the front door when they left and it required an inside key to unlock it and there was none. So there was NO WAY to get out. I ended up crawling out of the front window to get the front door key which was locked in a box that needed a combination to open it. The only reason I knew the combination was because we had been locked OUT the night before. It was raining but the manager picked up right away and gave us the combination so we were able to get in quickly without getting wet. Both experiences were awful. If there had been a fire that morning, we could have been trapped inside. I'm 74, strong and agile, so was able to get out. Someone older or not in good shape would have had an awful time crawling out through the window. When I brought this up with the manager, she told me to pass it along to the owner. I just got home a day ago from our trip and I am going to report this to the fire authorities in Portree. This is so unsafe. Another problem but minor - on the day we arrived, there were 5 keys left out for the 5 rooms, but there were no instructions on which room was ours and no manager on site to direct us. We were lucky to get the manager right away, who told us which room was ours. But after the incident of being locked inside, I tried two days to report it to her and she never answered - said that the signal was "awful". This is not a way to run a business.

The bathroom was clean.

The bed linen was black and white polka dots. We were expecting a white, as advertised. However, the host was responsive, and got it changed the next day.

Loved the location but wasn’t value for money.

The property was in a great location, 5 minute walk walk to the centre of Portree with heaps of restaurants and pubs to choose from. Very easy to access the waterfront.

Just a small room with tiny ensuite and difficult to store large suitcases. Very noisy with another family staying and the kid running up and down the hall all night. Wasn’t value for money with size of accommodation.

-Private parking in front of the property

-What’s a B&B without breakfast. It’s essentially a bed, but the mattress was of a very poor quality. We didn’t sleep well at all. -Tiny bedroom and bathroom -Why mentioning such a small window for check-in when in the end there’s nobody to welcome you at any point in time. We rushed to get there within the 2h window for nothing.

Wonderful

The lack of breakfast there was less convenient, but the short walk down the hill was pleasant. It also got us walking around the town center which has good shops like the bakery!

Strongly suggest to stripe the parking as angled parking as one guest took almost 2 spaces so we could not park w/o blocking one car. With no on site host ther was no way to communicate with the bad parking guest!

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our accommodation. I would not recommend.

It is a short walk from downtown Portree

1) There was no host on site. We knew there would be no breakfast included due to off season but not that where would be no caretaker present. 2) There is one key to get in the house that you leave in a lock box outside. You can’t lock the house from the inside as you have to leave the key outside. We could lock our room doors but anyone could walk in the house… 3) Which they did - 2 people showed up after 11 pm, came in the house and knocked on our bedroom door (not the front door!). They were trying to find their B and B and asked if this was it. It wasn’t. 4) Common dining area was not very functional. There needs to be a larger fridge and it just didn’t seem as clean as it should be for an eating area. This would likely be improved if a host had been on site, but there wasn’t. 5) There are 4 rooms in one small hallway which makes for a tight fit and not enough space and separation from other travellers.

Amazing B&B in the heart of Portree.

This accommodation was booked at the last minute, it exceeded our expectations. It was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and facilities were fantastic. There was no breakfast available but there were basic things such as a toaster, kettle and microwave in the communal loungeroom. It was very central, and within walking distance to everything we needed.

I don't think there could have been anything better for the price we paid. We couldn't fault it.

We were extremely happy with our stay. The location to town was perfect, our room was extremely clean. The manager, Gordon was a pleasure. He offered restaurant suggestions that were fabulous. We'd stay again if we are back in the area.

Gordon is a very nice person, I liked the kindness with which he treats his guests, he is a person with whom you can talk for a long time. The place was amazing and he gave some good tips for my journey.

I don’t usually leave comments, but my stay at Oronsay B&B has been unbelievably wonderful. One of the hosts Gordon is literally a cartoon character came to life, soooooo lovely and nice!!! Please, everyone, if it’s your first time visiting Skye, listen to Gordon’s recommendation!! He only recommends the best of the best! Our experience on Isle of Skye got ten times better with the addition of Gordon. Really felt hospitality. If you need anything, let Gordon know, he’s got you! The rooms were great too, got everything you need for a comfy stay, the living room is big and clean as well. 5 star review without a doubt!!

Exceptional

I had a wonderful stay at Oronsay ! The private room was comfortable, and having a private bathroom was a great bonus. The room was clean and well-maintained, and Gordon was a gracious and accommodating host. The location was also fantastic - it was in a quiet peaceful area and close enough to all the attractions and amenities I wanted to visit. Gordon was very helpful and made it feel like home. The beautiful surroundings, climate, cleanliness, the dining area are all exceptional and we can't thank enough for whatever is provided.Highly recommended !

Gordon, the caretaker was absolutely fantastic. He kept the place very clean and tidy and also was able to answer any questions you heard about Skye in great detail.
