Great convenient stay!

The property was very close to the town square, with Birch, a great coffee shop, just around the corner. The property faces the harbor and has great views of Portree when you step outside. Check in and check out were very easy. The room is stocked with plenty of tea and coffee. The shower had great water pressure, and the bed was very comfortable.

It is an older property and you can hear your neighbors at times. The first night there was a group that continued to slam doors during the evening. However, after they left it was much quieter.

As a solo Black female traveller, I felt completely safe and welcomed here. I stayed in two rooms: the Double on the 1st night and the single on the 2nd night, but the Double Sea View is worth every penny, and the harbour sunrise photography was spectacular! Great water pressure and a very peaceful stay. Highly recommend this sea view room 😊

Great location, tea facilities, nice shower, soft bed, clean and quiet.

This single room was clean and the bed was a comfortable large single, though it faced a brick wall. I stayed in two rooms: the Double on the 1st night and this single room on the 2nd night, I liked the size of this room's bathroom more than the double room, as it is larger. It also had great water pressure and it was overall a very peaceful stay.

I had a minor issue with the heating being off on arrival in the room and a stuck sink plug in the single room, but the host was very responsive and quick to help when messaged.

Cozy beautiful view

We appreciate the good climate control, hot good pressured shower, heated towel bar that helped dry out clothes on the rainy days, and the tea set up in our room. Parking was right out front and available throughout the stay. Easily walkable to the main area of town. Easy check in/out. Would stay again!

Great location - right in front of the famous colourful houses viewpoint, spacious room, clean bathroom, hot shower, enough car parking spaces(a little bit tight for a big car but manageable), warm and cozy room, all good!

Great location, parking & view “cozy” means small

The view and location was amazing and the parking was a pleasant surprise

The room was much smaller than expected making it difficult to maneuver. The bed didn’t feel sturdy. Most of all the room was stuffy and far too warm. The towel heater was on and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it off. With the room being so small and on the 3rd floor made it uncomfortably warm, even with the window cracked open.

Our stay at Coolin View was completely perfect.

We loved everything about the property. The room and en-suite were both very spacious and clean. Bed was 10/10, comfy mattress and cosy sheets, we both slept like logs both nights. We had a beautiful view of the harbour from our window. The hosts were extremely responsive and friendly, they went above and beyond to make our stay extra special after we got engaged. I honestly cannot rave about this property and the hosts enough, a couple of my friends are looking to visit Isle of Skye next year and I have already forwarded them the details for Coolin View and we will definitely be returning in the future!

Not worthy for money, facilities can be improved

The location is perfect.

The size of the bed for two people is quite small. I suggest the owner change the position of the bed from a full size to a queen size and moved to the opposite side that close to the door , add a mirror with cabinet that can put some cosmetic and toothbrushes on it in the bathroom.

Cute hotel overlooking the picturesque town, very comfy and clean with modern amenities.

Parking was sometimes difficult due to busy roads and non permit holders wanting pictures, but that's to be expected. Otherwise fantastic!

Close to everything in Portree

Location is perfect for Portree, with everything close by. Beautiful views from the top floor of the harbour. No lift, so if you book a harbour view it’s about 3 sets of stairs to get up but we didn’t have issues. The self check in was easy as well. It was extremely handy having parking included - spaces are limited but it didn’t seem like anyone had any issues.

I had a very pleasant stay. The facility was clean, and it was quiet throughout the night. I booked the smallest room for myself, but it had everything I needed. The shower had strong, warm water pressure, and the view from the window was lovely. The mattress was very comfortable.

Central location. No breakfast. Limited parking space.

Ideal location if you stay on Isle of Skye. The hotel offers free parking but you need to take in to account that there are just 6 spaces for 10 rooms! First come first served. :) The room is cosy but small (I don't complain!). There are several pretty good restaurants around but unfortunately they are closing early, around 9PM which is not really good when you are on the island for hiking or other outdoor activities. There is a COOP shop nearby which is open until late. Overall, I liked this place and will consider booking it again when I'm on the island next time.

Skye is stunning!

The location of the accommodation is excellent, it is in the centre of Portree. It offers free car parking directly opposite the property. The view of Portree harbour is fantastic especially if you have a room with a view which we did. Very quiet too. 2mins walk to the Co-op supermarket, restaurants and gift shops. It is essential to pre-book dinner reservations (we did).

The bathroom became very hot due to the heat from the towel rail. A major disadvantage is that breakfast is not included which means eating out. You can either buy pastries from the Co-op or have breakfast out but bear in mind that they don’t open until 8am.
