Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in

The Bosville was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Superb in every way. Very thoughtful touches in the room, like quality products in the bathroom and gorgeous snacks, and the softness of the bed and the high quality cotton linen. The dinners were amazing and the staff were friendly. The view from my window was incredible.

Quiet spacious room

Easy to find, spacious room, handy to everything we needed.

Split level room with bathroom down about six steps without floor safety lighting. Not great for using bathroom in the middle of the night.

Nice charming location, would definitely pay more to get a bigger room

Charming little hotel that feels like you’re in a seaside cottage. Great location in Portree with rooms overlooking the harbour. The staff were very nice (except the bar tender at the attached bar who was very rude)

The room was very small. It only had a double (full) size bed which wasn’t very comfortable. As 2 6’+ people it made for 2 uncomfortable nights sleep. The shower was also tiny and the water was either cold or scalding hot, we couldn’t find a temperature in between

Quaint, clean hotel with tasty restaurant

Great location with wonderful restaurant. Also, pub attached but we didn’t try it. Room was large and clean. Loved the bathroom, great towels and robes.

Too hot and no control in the room. Bed was very small, and would have liked a mini fridge. No umbrellas for customer use, odd for Scotland.

Embarrassingly expensive for the standard of the hotel.

Reception staff were pleasantly helpful and breakfast was very good. In-room refreshments - tea, coffee - were very welcome after a harrowing journey.

Restaurant was unable to accommodate me for dinner as they were running out of food (very busy) and the bar staff told me, at 11.40pm, that the bar was closing and I couldn't sit for a drink. The room rate was extortionate for a hotel of this level - I've stayed in many 4-star hotels for less money and the facilities fell far short of what I'm accustomed to. Due to road closures and traffic congestion I was unable to make my ferry connection and forced to book overnight. Therefore, following an arduous and stressful journey I was extremely disappointed at the cost and the standard of the hotel.

Room quite small and bed too small not very comfortable. View of our room one was great view and the others not a good view and room quite hot and no lift to upper floor so not convenient to take big luggage to the room !

An adventure in Portree

We had room 9 at the Bosville hotel in Portree. The view out of the two small windows was fantastic, right at the harbor at a good angle. You can take great pictures of the harbor at both sun rise and sun down right from the window.

The facility at the hotel was rather old, without an elevator. The shower was pretty small, and the furniture was rather old as well. The worst thing was that there were some unknown bugs (either flea or bedbug, we could not be sure), which bit us and left itchy marks.

Best Choice in Portree

You cannot beat the location - right on the harbor with an elevated view. Everything is first class, from the comfort of the rooms, to the bar with excellent selection of whiskies, the restaurant food was amazing. But most importantly, the staff. They accommodated my requests for in-room dining since the restaurant was fully booked and most restaurants in Portree were closed on Sunday. I highly recommend this hotel

Incredible location! We stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing time. The room was super comfortable and quiet. The staff were so hardworking and kind. The restaurant is also super tasty. We loved staying here!

Perfect for a two night stay

Cute ,quaint and great location . Very friendly staff.

Room got a little stuffy. We opened the window which solved the problem ( if you don’t mind street noise). We brought a white noise machine so it was all good.

Overpriced place that’ll keep you awake all night long

The location is perfect.

There was no vacancy anywhere in Portree, and so we paid 400 euros to stay awake all night! The room was more than noisy. There is a bar next door, and you can hear the music loud and clear. There must be no soundproofing, because I could also hear people talking in the rooms next door, and people walking on the floor above. As if this wasn’t enough, I got a gastritis by the hotel’s food (never order the lamb burger!) and have been struggling for two days now. Overall, a great disappointment. The room costed 400 euros per night, and the decoration was some old books glued on the shelves (!) so that the customers won’t steal them… What can I say? This overpriced tourist trap almost destroyed our vacation in Scotland.

The hotel was right in town and it has a vintage vibes. There is everything provide in the room even and their staff are the loviest.

There is only 5 parking, which is always filled and it’s a bit difficult to drop off luggages.
